We stayed one night, and chose this place because it offered a quiet, low-level accommodation option with good parking and a short drive to the ferry. The grounds are lovely, with the two-story motel-type units located in one block alongside the main house/reception venue overlooking expansive lawns. The units are about 30 years old and some features have been upgraded so there is a mix of modern and original fittings. Everything is very clean and nicely presented. We had a ground floor unit; each one has doors opening onto the lawns and a back entry close to the carpark at the rear, so access is good. We enjoyed a very quiet night before heading to the ferry which took us only 20 minutes. The main house has a great history and looks like a great wedding/function venue. A good mid-range option. Special thanks to the welcoming and pleasant hosts.

Our 2020 Christmas present from members of our family was to be taken to uWallaceville House for Christmas dinner. We'd been to functions there previously and loved it. This time we were required to be there by 12, but then waited for over half an hour before the meal was served. This would have been fine, but the wine served was un drinkable and the nibbles offered were a had full of mini chocolate bars - not what you want to eat before a meal. The meal itself was appalling. The boiled vegetables were undercooked and the roasted ones overcooked. The turkey was dry, and the person serving the ham and roast meat didn't know how to carve properly. The Christmas pudding must have been cut by someone equally inexperienced, because it comprised mainly of a plateful of crumbs. Then to top it off there was neither enough cups nor coffee brewed for everyone present to have a drink. I think the person(s) responsible must have bought the cheapest food and wine available, and employed inexperienced chefs and serving staff (at least the latter were nice). It was not up to the standard one would expect from a meal at Wallaceville House.

Stayed here for one night so we could have an easy drive to the InterIslander ferry the next day. The setting is beautiful - on the edge of town nestled in the bush but close to everything. You really need to drive to get to the restaurants. We actually walked to the nearest craft brewery but it wasn't that convenient and took over 30 minutes. Room was fine - we had a spa suite and while it's older in style, it was clean and comfy. Bed was good. There were some obvious touchups of where there had been leaks in the bathroom but can't really complain. Friendly and welcoming staff. Would stay here again.

Booked this for an overnight stop on the way to Wellington Airport. Had quite low expectations purely judging its location, but was very pleased to see a charming colonial style modern built property in well kept grounds on arrival. Check in was informative and friendly. Plenty of parking close to each room. Our room had a modern(ish) bathroom and kitchen along with a simply decorated bedroom area containing two double beds and a balcony looking across the lawns back to the main reception and building. We had a good nights sleep. Comfortable beds and no early noise even though it was all fully booked out.
