Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Everything ideal... only 10 min walk from Truro station, staff welcoming and helpful, room very clean and modern, bed extremely comfortable, quiet night, and food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was well prepared, tasty and good value.

Two of us stayed prior to us working the next day nearby. We arrived after a 4.5 hour drive to find a nice easy car park for my VW Transporter van. Entering reception we were greeted with a very courteous smile, booking in was seamless. Both my colleague and I are real ale drinkers so much to our delight having dumped our cases we decided to enjoy their wares, we were not disappointed. We eat in that evening and for breakfast the next morning the food was excellent especially the breakfast. The rooms were perfectly adequate so absolutely no complaints. Although we did the only night I/We throughly recommended the County Arms.

Fabulous stay for my husband and I visiting his dying father in hospital. We drove down from West Yorkshire 2 days before and stayed previous accommodation so arrived at 10.30am and was happy to see if could leave all our luggage in a clock room to explore Truro. Very friendly, helpful and understanding receptionist checked rooms on ground level and ours had just been cleaned so could check in then and there. So grateful. Restaurant fab for evening meals and breakfast. Will be more of us to come down for funeral soon and hope this little gem has room for our next visit.

An excellent stay, convenient for the rail station (about 7 minutes walk), and a big car park for those driving. Accommodation very well presented and clean, food good too. I'd put this in the same category as a Premier Inn, but much more individual, and much better food.

Staff throughout our stay were all lovely, friendly and very helpful. Mattress and pillows were so comfy - most comfortable bed I've stayed in for a long time! Due to proximity to the road there was some noise but you get used to it quickly and I didn't find it disruptive. Rooms were spacious and clean.

Bit grim looking from the outside as set on very busy main road and hard to get in and out of car park but room was spacious, clean and comfortable; perhaps a bit spartan? Maybe room for a sofa and table? Exemplary service from staff at every point of contact. Dining area cold. Food good (Burger and chips excellent). Breakfast: no proper coffee and the worst "scrambled egg" I have ever encountered. That said I must once again compliment the staff and the service which was faultless.

Hi Mr_d_bowles many thanks for your review, it’s greatly appreciated. We work hard to maintain a high level of food and service and strive to make sure our guests are looked after and leave happy. Thanks for you comments about the room. We will certainly take on board your comments about having some more furnishings. The team here work really hard and are all excellent at their jobs so thank you for acknowledging this. We've never had issues with the scrambled eggs but I will pass your comments on to the kitchen team for review. I'm a touch confused about your Coffee comments, we have proper ground coffee at breakfast in the restaurant and the rooms all have a nespresso machine and instant coffee available. Look forward to seeing you at County Arms accommodation, Truro again soon. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you; we are more than happy to help!

Sunday lunch - absolutely massive portions from the carvery. Choice and quality very good for the price, although the beef could have been a little more tender but shouldn’t complain for the price. Loads of well cooked vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, etc. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Only 4 stars as they could have done with a couple of extra staff behind the bar. Will go again.
