Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We only used the "Tea Rooms"
Convenient for a quick refreshment stop, adjacent to the car park (pay and display) and the walk to the Dolgoch Falls.
The Welsh cream tea included a drink, scone and bara brith. Whilst the accompanying cream was excellent it sadly wasn't local.
However, the bara brith was excellent, more moist than many with a good flavour of tea and fruit.
Friendly service.

At the start/ end of the waterfall walk is a tearoom. They have plenty of outside seats in a nice garden. It is a tearoom rather than a restaurant - good for teas, cold drinks, cakes and snacks rather than meals. The cakes were freshly made and all clean and well organised. We enjoyed a bakewell slice, chocolate orange cake, lemonade and herbal tea. Not sure what the opening times/ dates are? There are toilets for customers to use.

Dolgoch falls are a series of three waterfalls. To explore all three is a mile and a half walk, but the setting is lovely so its good to allow plenty of time. The valley is very sheltered, so is possible to do the walk on a windy or showery day. But to enjoy it best, find a sunny day when the light is on the water. The wet conditions lead to a lush woodland with ferns, mosses and lichen on every surface. In spring there are wildflowers including campions, stitchwort and small patches of bluebells.

The main and largest falls has an all access path which enables everyone to enjoy them. After this the paths are well maintained and it makes a good family walk. It is Wales and it does rain, so after wet weather the paths can become muddy and slippy under foot. So wear proper walking shoes or walking boots. There are plenty of places to sit, and at the upper falls several benches and a picnic table.

The falls can be access by the car park by the hotel and tea room. This is about 10 minutes drive inland from Tywyn. There is a small charge for parking. It is a popular walk so if you want peace and quiet try and go on a week day if you are here in peak holiday times.

It is pleasant but not a full day, for more walks in the area, including two that start in this car park and explore the valley check out the Talyllyln Railway walks book and the Kittiwake Walks around Tywyn.

Absolutely loved our stay here! The rooms have every basic that you need and the host is really welcoming! The rooms were clean and the view of the mountains was stunning! The location is ideal to get to the coast or to see some great local sights.

The breakfast was sensational and well cooked. Honestly already planning my next trip there!

The location for walking is very good.
The room and overall hotel is very tired which was a shame (avocado green suite)
The ceiling in the en-suite was mouldy and considering the cost of the room this was
disappointing.
The first breakfast we had was not of a good standard as the bacon was overcooked.
The breakfast improved somewhat as more guests arrived the next few days.
The cafe which could be a little gold mine was shut ad hoc and whilst we were coming in people were peering in to see if it really was closed.
The Dolgoch Falls is right behind the B and B which was pretty and the large car park in front had many cars parked for the walkers.

This tea room is in a lovely location next to the Dolgoch falls walk. It looked such a nice place for afternoon tea. We went in to order Cream Teas. The woman took the scones off the counter and walked off with them and we listened as she bunged them in the microwave - mmm so fresh! The jam was cheap and nasty but the cream was OK and the reheated scones were acceptable. However this could have been so much better! Service could definitely have been more friendly too.

Used the tea room after a visit to the falls. Ordered two strawberry milkshakes and a bit disappointed to receive two smallish cups of frothy flavoured milk. Tasted ok but could have been a much better milkshake it some cream or ice cream added to thicken it up. It’s a popular spot and that it’s draw.

An idyllic home from home set in a picturesque part of the Snowdonia National Park. Nigel and Jie were the perfect hosts, determined that we should enjoy our short break to the full. Comfy rooms, spotlessly clean, hearty breakfast and first hand advice about the area.
The magnificent Dolgoch Falls are a mere ten minutes walk away while the delightful Talyllyn Steam Railway has a station just behind the back of the hotel.
Highly recommended.

Stayed here while working in Tywyn for 2 nights, on arrival the welcome was friendly. The room was very clean with plenty of tea and coffee available, quiet location so good night's sleep. My single room had en suite shower, TV etc. Included in the was an excellent full breakfast, the host was very attentive and would definitely recommend. The surrounding area is beautiful plenty of walks available from the hotel. Also a good few pubs for evening meals etc.

We stopped here when walking up the lovely Dolgoch Falls .The scones looked lovely but when we ate them they had obviously been frozen and defrosted. They weren’t the freshly made scones we had expected. Although remote the falls were fairly busy. Disappointing.

I booked direct with Nigel, the owner, who confirmed booking (and my request for an extra night) quickly.

We felt very welcome and the huge breakfast set us up for the day.

Our room was bright and clean. Twywn is only a few minutes drive away and the Dolgoch Falls and Talyllyn Railway are each about 5 minutes walk away. Hope to go back soon.
