We have stayed here for one night with the family in a family room, on our way to Soulac sur Mer. We knew it was a 2 stars hotel, so we didn’t expect a 4 stars accomodation and this is also how we have rated this hotel. The hotel is located close to the sea and harbour, which is a very nice spot for a walk or a beer. In the hotel, the staff was very friendly, there is free parking space in front of the hotel (ok, when you are lucky, but at least it’s free). Even though the hotel and the room were a little outdated, it was clean, the bed was good, the windows could open for nice fresh air, the shower was good and even though we didn’t order breakfast in advance, it was no problem to get one still in the morning. Simple but nice and low cost breakfast, which could be eater outside on their terrace.…
Arrived at a busy time of the year, got two rooms here with 24 hours notice thought the local tourist information centre. Can't fault it's location in the centre of town with a short walk to the beach bars and restaurants. The rooms were clean and bed not uncomfortable. Those are the positives. I agree with previous comments the hotel is outdated and needs a serious makeover. It is near the market and above shops so lots of associated early morning noise. No air con, no sea breeze so sleeping was difficult. We chose not to take the petit dejeuner as there was an excellent cafe and patisserie on the block. Would not choose to stay again but provided a solution at short notice on this occasion!
The hotel has lots of steps and no lifts. I am fit but found the carrying of cases difficult. Rooms are very small and veryoutdated. The hotel is 40 years out of date from a UK viewpoint.. The hotel looked like it needed lots of money spent on it. Beds and rooms are attended to daily but that does not remove the fact that it is shabby. No a/c so it was hard to sleep at night. The hotel was very noisy with lorries moving at all hours of the day at night making sleeping difficult. Being honest I would give it a miss I wouldnot go there EVER again.
