Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for one night as part of a business trip. We initially went in to the wrong hotel, as the main door to the Campanile is around the corner to the Premiere Classe hotel. Staff were somewhat unsmiling when we arrived during the evening and not particularly helpful. Wifi connection was good, room was clean, bathroom facilities were good (liked the walk in shower) - interesting that there was shower/hair gel wash in the dispenser at the sink, not sure what it was in the shower itself. Bed was comfortable. Very disappointed that the staff couldn't summon up some sachets of decaf coffee for us - just got a shake of the head from the unsmiling guy behind the reception desk. Still, it was quite easy to find from the airport (although perversely somewhat difficult because of all the diversions created by the current roadworks .... parking was good the room could have done with some more power points and USB ports. For airport hotels, it was quite good, but not great. From our room, we could hear a lot of people chattering outside somewhere and we thought "oh no, hope it's going to pipe down", but it did quieten down and it was very quiet.

A basic hotel but fine for 1 or 2 nights
We stayed for 5 nights on half board.
Breakfast is quite basic but Decent coffee, fresh Orange Juice and Nice pastries. Some Muesli/Granola would be appreciated.
Dinner is quite nice but sadly the menu is exactly the same every night. It would be nice if there were a couple of different salad options each night or a couple of different entrees. There was No choice of Chicken at all so something Chicken on the menu would be good.
Remy who worked in the restaurant/bar was excellent. Very friendly and attentive.
The room was very basic to say the least but comfortable enough. The shower was excellent and the bed comfortable enough. No hand towels just two thin bath towels. The air conditioning for some reason defaulted to 26 deg after about 30 minutes of being turned down to 21. Don’t know why it does that but I woke up hot each night. The carpet in the rooms was grubby and needed replacing. (Dubious Stains)
No English TV channels at all (No criticism just an observation)

Very good value for money. Pension with parking. Very welcoming staff. Spacious rooms. Great location and close to shops (15 minutes walk).
Positive for those who leave very early before Breakfast service time: there is in the rooms everything you need for coffee or tea (kettle).

We stayed overnight before a morning flight. It was excellent, quiet, 5mins drive from car rental drop off. Room had good facilities, excellent bathroom. Free parking. Kettle & only small amount of tea/coffee/milk, but very kind bar staff gave us fresh milk. Comfy bed. A/c. We did not have breakfast or meals, but all looked really good, with cool shady sitting-out area. Good value for money.

We didn't stay in the hotel this time, which was very good, but we were fed up with the attitude of the surly woman at the bar. Sometimes, while waiting for a friend to arrive at the airport, we stop at the campanile to eat, sometimes just to have a drink. The waitress at the bar certainly hates her job, she's basically unpleasant. Last time we asked for such a beer, "not at all", she snorted, as if it was a ridiculous question. Usually we are offered a bowl of chips with the aperitif, last time no, I went to ask - very politely - if we could have some, it clearly bothered her who we asked her, she took a bowl of chips on the counter and gave it to us. The chips were limp, clearly leftovers that another customer hadn't eaten. We asked for some fresh ones, another sigh, etc. Maybe it's time for her to go?

Once again and after several phone calls at different times of the year to make a Reservation, and despite the availability in the rooms of this Inn, as by chance when you indicate that you are PMR the tone changes and availability becomes impossible justifying the occupation of the room by a family or an association that has booked! How weird!!! And in addition to being disabled it is easier for them to say that you are stupid for not understanding!!
It’s simpler to say that you can’t accommodate PMRs than to make it look the other way around.
I do not wish the director of this establishment or even his staff to live the accident I suffered and to be faced with refusals for spurious reasons!!!
Congratulations to you and continue like this!!! You are still in your argument at the limit of legality!!

The hotel is well located, close to the airport.
The rooms are spacious and very clean despite the worn carpet as well as the towels and paintings.. the people at reception very welcoming but the bar and restaurant to avoid. Very unpleasant staff who seemed to be exasperated, we felt quite bad... The evening buffet is really not good, it is better to opt for the hot dishes. In short, a rather bizarre experience overall.

We had a plane at 6 a.m., living 2 hours away we said to ourselves "why not sleep there just to rest and save time sleeping" unfortunately, we would have been better off leaving home at 12 a.m. and doing sleepless night, that would have saved us this hotel night! This is unheard of :
- hairs in the bed
- poorly done housekeeping
- a smell of Paco Rabanne type men's perfume which starched our room
- insects all over the room
- noisy neighbors
And so on... In short, to escape, and above all major work to be considered for this Campanile Merignac which deserves only one star!

Would not recommend this hotel at all.
The hotel is run down not clean and the staff were rude.
We had 1 night only thank goodness.
The restaurant staff were rude and unhelpful and the food was average.
It was a prepaid room but when we left they charged us again and it took along time to get the money credited back.

In the current context, I can only thank. I missed the ambiance, but the reception was impeccable, and my requests were met. I would like to be given this free night when everything returns as before so that I can dine and better appreciate the breakfast that I missed because it is the revelation of a good hotel.
I put average but it would take the possibility of between average and very good.

This hotel is near the airport - many miles from the Bordeaux railway station. (40 euro cab ride approx.) I suggest you consult TripAdvisor if you want a hotel near the station.

Richmond upon Thames, England, United Kingdom24 contributions94 helpful votesDoes this hotel take pets as we are travelling with our cat down to spain?
The private parking, does anyone know if it’s locked at night?
Thanks
Sorry I don't know about pets. I am sure they lock the car park at night . Dee
No shuttle available at any of the Hotels around this airport! If you hire a car, you can drop the keys in the box provided by the car rental company, just before checking in at 4am, as we did! We found this the best solution and it allowed us to leave the hotel at 3.30am!
