Detailed Reviews
Not really close to anything. In an industrial area, so good for visiting the local businesses. Hard to get to off you’re walking (as we were)as very few sidewalks. Better off you have a car, or use Uber. Comfortable bed, quiet area. ok for one night.

Basic hotel in the vicinity of the airport. You can walk to the hotel in 25 minutes with a big suitcase with wheels. Bus line 1 or 48 will only take a few minutes. Line 48 only runs once an hour from mon-fri and costs 1,60 €.
Hotel is basic. A room, a good double bed, bathroom, airconditioning and wifi. Breakfast was nothing special but only option unless You want to grab something in the airport.
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. If You want to go downtown (which You should if You want something nice to eat) You can take either of the two mentioned busses. It will take just less than an hour and You will get off at Gare St. Jean (if You take line 1). From there You need to walk for half an hour to the city center.
There is free parking outside. From midnight to early next morning the area is quiet.
3 1/2 * - good - for a single night!

Simple hotel close to the airport, wifi is good. A nice surprise was the breakfast. In simple hotels breakfasts are unually very bad not in this hotel. Fresh fruit, yoghurts, lots of breads to choose from, good coffee. The owner or manager was very friendly and helpful. We will gladly come back.

Arrived an hour late following a delayed flight and my booking had been 'lost' by the system. Booked in again through the auto check in and found I had been charged twice. No refund. No acknowledgement. Straight rip off. Don't risk it, good people. There are lots of other better hotels within a mile.

I used this hotel for a 36 hour decompression after a 6 month deployment in the Mid-East. I really liked how quiet it was and easy enough to access downtown by bus. At first I thought I would hate the fact there is no attendant but it was negligible.
I found the bed a little stiff, but I have a bad back and generally find most hotels to be uncomfortable. The heating/AC unit was silly.
Staff was awesome.. helped me with everything I needed.

Stayed for two nights. The rooms are quite small and everything is dated. It needs refurbishment, the building itself is very picturesque but the interior needs tlc. There was no cleaning up the room and making up the bed after our first night. As we returned late at night, there was nobody to address this issue. That is not acceptable at all. The staff had little knowledge of surrounding areas of interest e.g. Wineries. This is Bordeaux, people come here for the wine! The restaurant across the road is the only saving grace, it's superb and staffed by really great people.

We stayed at this Hotel, as we were watching the Wales Euro 2016 game in Bordeaux.
The hotel is situated approx 5 mins in a Taxi from the airport.
We booked a twin room, which was clean, but very small and basic. There was only 1 socket to charge phones etc. The shower was not the best, but the bathroom was clean.
We did not have breakfast, as there did not appear to be much choice.
The receptionist was friendly and helpful,
The hotel is a long way out of the centre of Bordeaux and getting in and out can cost a bit in Taxi fares. We managed to catch a local bus in (approx 10min walk from the hotel) or you can go back to the airport and catch the airport bus into town.
so in conclusion, this would be a cheap option if you were arriving at or travelling from Bordeaux Airport and needed an overnight stay.

Not wanting to face Bordeaux rush-hour traffic for a morning flight we popped into one of the hotels in Merignac. We've done this before and they have been so-so at the cheap end and not value for money for a simple night's sleep.
Altica, happily, fell in between, At less that €50 for the night and breakfast at €4,90 this was excellent. The location was good with 4/5 restaurants within walking distance. Reception was friendly, the room clean, comfortable and quiet and only a 5 minute drive to the airport - in fact if everything had gone pear shaped you could walk there in 20/30 minutes.

For about 40 euros one could expect very little of a hotel these days. However, hotel Altica where I spent two nights is a lot for the money.
You get a room with a private bathroom, wifi, and the breakfast is simple but of good quality. The whole point is there are very few staff and they are not there all the time. You get a vending machine like thing on the entrance so you can check in or even book a room if there is availability and you get a code for your room, quite simple.
The room is of a reasonable size, well furnished and clean. I would certainly recommend this place.

Once past the sordid environment of the surroundings, an abandoned courtyard and cafeteria in the immediate vicinity, this hotel offers very good services for the price. 1 minute from P4, secure and practical parking, easy access, top breakfast, freshly renovated room etc… I highly recommend it. Only remark about the room: non-functional heating!
