They cancelled our wedding at short notice. No explanation or compassion. Very difficult then to get hold of. They were very flakey from the start. They made what should have been a pleasant experience into a very stressful and negative one.

On our arrival, we received a warm welcome to Anstey Hall, as well as a discount card for a meal at the local restaurant. Our room was cosy and warm, with a lovely comfortable bed, tea, biscuits and nespresso coffee making facilities. The interior surroundings were so interesting, and the building and grounds are beautiful. Really enjoyed our stay ... wish it could have been for longer!

I discovered here in 2013 and managed to get back in 2014 but not again until last night. It was a great find back in '13 and it's just got better and better. Took a group of friends along this time so nervous to know their thoughts but all thought it was the best place we have stayed at in Cambridge. We go there once a year and have stayed at a variety of places ranging from HDV to TLodge. Anstey is packed full of character, hanging on the walls and walking the halls!! John was there last night and a great host, everyone enjoyed meeting him. The invisible bar man is great - you'll get what I mean if you stay!! Buffet breakfast this morning was a big upgrade on 2014, I liked it then and loved it today. Room 8.... top of the house, two flights up. No lift so if stairs are a challenge I think they have rooms on ground floor and in coach house. Lovely big room and twin sink bathroom, walk in shower etc. Couple of nightcaps in front of the roaring fire last night was great. Real social space, met folks and had a good chin wag!! Looking forward to going back and not waiting 6 years this time!!

This is the most amazing and different place I’ve ever stayed. It’s like a French chateau dropped from the sky into Trumpington!! Love it!! I have to stay away for work each week and I am so grateful I have found this Hall. It’s a piece of history. This is my third week staying here and love it!! The staff are amazing and above all John is a fabulous man! Don’t believe what you read! He is so interesting and his lovely staff are so welcoming!! Nothing is too much. I actually feel like royalty. It’s wonderful. I find something new to look at each time in here. This is true history and we need more gentlemen like John to preserve our halls, our ancestry... it’s a bit of a pain having to work away from home but this makes up for it a million times over The breakfast is amazing too. To all at Anstey hall.... I thank you for letting me share your home each week. I’m so so grateful. X
