The most comfortable, largest bed in the UK. Nice atmosphere within the pub, friendly staff. Great bar food including breakfast. Good selection of beers from the local Turpin brewery. A good place to stop with free parking for anyone visiting Cambridge or the nearby Shepreth wildlife park.
Taking Daughter back to University and needed to stay over to save travelling straight back. The Lord Byron is a lovely traditional pub, rooms are set outside in the lovely garden. The rooms are spotless and nice comfy beds. The staff are very friendly and breakfast is excellent, it as a good menu and real ales. I definitely give 4.and the only reason it's not 5,is the noise, it seem like it came from above the room?,overall lovely place to stay while taking our Daughter back.
We were in the area for a birthday get together so decided to make a weekend of it by staying at The Lord Byron. On arrival the staff were very friendly and they serve a very decent pint. We had booked to have an evening meal which did the trick without being spectacular. The room was comfortable and clean again without being exceptional. The breakfast was the highlight, very well cooked and definitely enough and service was always nice, efficient and friendly. Why a 3 then, maybe we are being picky but the place needed a good decorating, the room needed a bit of a lift, shower needs to be bigger with shelving. A towel rail wouldn’t go amiss with some bigger and better quality towels. In our opinion doing these things would lift it to a 4+ but having said that don’t let it put you off staying and location to Cambridge is superb.…
W e stay here at the moment. Noisy upstairs neighbours, sounds as if they have hobnail boots on.Early morning wake up call,7ish o clock and air con on.We have 2 more days of this.Sigh. Breakfast staff lovely and friendly.Breakfast ideal set us up for a day at Duxford.
Fully deserving of 5 stars if only for the friendliness of everyone. Rooms basic but clean and comfortable with excellent tv and many sockets. Beds comfortable. Do bring scissors if you want to open the coffee sachets or soap disks. Toiletries open with a strong twist Our room (2) had large bathroom. Pleasant garden with children slide Breakfast will keep you going. Too much for our usual cereal and toast only routine. Proper sausages and drink refills suggested by lovely staff. Highly recommend for Cambridge stay with Park and Ride nearby. Parking at property not a problem.
