Great place to stay and enjoy an island experience. All of the staff/workers here were so friendly and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend to stay here because the rooms are very clean and bed was comfortable. I slept for 9 hours and woke up feeling wonderful, would stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at Saboga Lodge for 4 nights in early June 2022. Overall we had a good time and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who doesn't mind a little adventure in their travels! The hotel and island are quiet and beautiful. My #1 advise: BRING BUG REPELLANT! The mosquitos will ruin your trip if you are not prepared.
As someone else mentioned below, the beach in front of the hotel has quite a bit of trash that has drifted ashore from abroad. However, we walked 10-minute down from the hotel and found some of the most beautiful, pristine beaches we had ever seen! For 2 days we laid on the beach completely alone and heard nothing but the sound of crashing waves and birds!
The hotel staff is very nice! The food is DELICIOUS and reasonably prices (about $10-17 for a dinner entre). But the kitchen is very small and everything is made to order so you may have to wait awhile (15 to 45 minutes). The cook was always good about giving estimates on how long things would take. Also note, despite what the website says, they do not allow outside food!
I think 4 nights was a little too long to stay. Most other guest were only there for 2 nights and I think would have been perfect. Especially since if you take the ferry you arrive really early your first day (9 AM) and leave in the late afternoon on the day of your departure (3 PM).

Thank you for sharing your opinion and helping us to keep growing. As you mention, our Lodge is a small paradise located on a remote island and due to high rainfall mosquitoes increase, however, we have for sale Off, for mosquitoes, because we understand how annoying they can be. There is a lot of nature, the idea is always to connect with the environment and our beaches are varied, good that you found a suitable place. We continue working to provide more and more comfort to our guests. Thank you for sharing your comment that helps us to keep growing.

Saboga lodge is incredible for get away. The location is not crowded with tourists and the beaches available after rather unknown yet beautiful.
The staff is also incredible helpful and accommodating, and the final bill was quite a bit less than expected. I would recommend saboga to anyone!

This was not a trip to remember in good terms. So, first things first; If you think a ride in a small boat on the open ocean for 90 minutes sounds fun, this might be a trip for you.
The good points:
the employees on site were nice and we mostly communicated through WA, the Chef was good at his tasks, food was well cooked, seasoned well.
The staff who delivered food while over worked were great, always a smile and bringing our food hot.
The Beach is lovely and a nice dip, ignore all the trash. It’s an Eco Lodge
Negative:
Many things, lack of attention to detail
Lack of upkeep (Maintenance) of the resort
So, who is this resort for? People who don’t mind roughing it, who love the ocean (because you are 35 KM for the mainland). People who are fluent in Spanish. For us it’s a no. We tend to like resorts of abundance; this was a resort with a lack of abundance.
Side note: I know the Lockdowns have been hard on the tourism community, and this was not our first stay, the biggest problem was it was oversold from the outset. I wish them luck there is much to improve here.

This property has so much potential. However, the owners are no where to be found and the property needs a lot of work!
Besides the multiple safety issues, there are beer cans and other random trash in rmultiple places around the "Boutique Hotel", and I'm not referring to the beach, I'm referring to the public areas of the hotel. The pool looks murky, and I'm not referring to leaves and other debris from the trees. It's NOTHING like the pictures! It's cloudy and I wouldn't step foot in there.
The beach could be nice except there's so much plastic, tangled fish nets and other trash that it's really difficult to look past it. I can't understand why the staff, who are literally sitting around, aren't out there cleaning the beach up. It's such an easy fix for a problem that every guest sees as soon as they get off the boat. Most other resorts manage to deal with plastic and garbage from the ocean so why can't this one. Let's be clear here, I'm not talking about plant debris, I'm talking about a huge amount of plastic in several areas along what should be a beautiful beach.
The food is a whole other issue. There's no menu and they don't speak English (which is fine except there's nothing to read and translate). My lunch was shrimp, plain white rice and a "salad" of cucumbers and onions. My husbands lunch was mystery fish, white rice and the same "salad". Seriously!
This was our first night so after the lunch we had we decided to go to the one restaurant on the island for dinner. Except there's a battle going on between the owners of the hotel and some other group because the owners didn't want to chip in to have a road from the village to the hotel paved. So the group who funded the road put up a large gate (that you can't climb) to block guests from the hotel from accessing it.
Bottom line, you could call it rustic but in reality it's just run-down and the website sells you a vision that doesn't exist. Very deceptive marketing.
BTW - we heard that the owners are Russian and live in Canada; but in any case, apparently they rarely come here.

Hi Cassandra, You are unfortunately saying a lot of false information in your review, which seems to be based on hearsay. I am not Russian, I am French, I do not live in Canada, I live in Panama. Me and my wife are frequently going to the lodge to ensure quality control. She was actually there the day before you left your review and saw the pool in perfect condition with clean common areas. We are currently helping the people from the village fighting for the removal of the illegal gate places by other nearby owners, which prevent free public access to the road to not only our guests but to the people from the village that are coming to work to our lodge everyday and need to go through this obstacle. It is very unfortunate what other neighbours have done, but we are at the contrary fighting for the local people. Beach cleaning is done several times a week by our staff and unfortunately this is a sad reality, the consequence of how people are educated here not to take care of their natural resources. Every time the tides go through their cycle, here we are cleaning the beach again. We are actually launching a program where guests can help by filling in 1 bag and get one free drink in exchange, our guests have shown interest in being involved with helping on the island. We have tried calling you to share our point with you verbally but could not get a hold of you, so hopefully you will take the time to read our response. Take care

The so called ocean view is hidden by the trees. The “ferry” is an open air ponga over open water. Weak communications regarding what to expect. We were told not to bring food or drinks but the “restaurant “ which was actually part of our suite, was not adequately supplied. Ran out of food choices on day 2. No salad and little vegetables, only rice, plantains and ratatouille. Nearby restaurants are about an hour walk through the jungle. Obviously no Uber. Because the restaurant is part of the suite we stayed in, there was little privacy from 0700-2130. On the plus side the staff was very accommodating under the circumstances. What food we ate was delicious and well prepared.

Hi Pioneer Saboga is a beautiful island, far from noise and the stress of the city. That fact is a challenge when it comes to logistics. We are working very hard on improving our menu and the fresh food availability, The boat was a part of a package you bought, it was very specific about the kind of transportation you will get. But for sure we will improve our communication to avoid this kind of misunderstanding. Regards. Saboga Lodge

Very attentive staff, beautiful rooms with the ocean right outside the large terraces, very peaceful and calm. Simply a great place to stay and unwind. The lodge also organises boat tours to desert beaches and islands that are highly recommended!

If you are looking for a place far away from the city, crowd and noise and relaxation, then Villa Noelia is a nice place to stay.
The Good
1. Quiet and nice beaches
2. Very good and nice attention from the hostess Ms. Darling.
3. Nice bed and pillows.
The Bad
1. Lack of maintenance of the hotel installations. Floors, walls are deteriorated, bathroom faucet was loose, etc.
2. Prices for water, beer, food, transport, etc. was extremely high.
3. The hotel charge for inland transportation from the ferry pier to the hotel and back $7.50 per person. I consider that the hotel should assume such charges.
4. Restaurant menu was not consistent with what was available.
The Ugly
1. Constant electricity blackouts. 2 or 3 times a day.
2. Hotel ran out of potable water for a whole morning.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay at Villa Noelia. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the quiet and nice beaches, as well as the great service provided by our hostess Ms. Darling. We are also happy to hear that you found the bed and pillows comfortable. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the lack of maintenance of our hotel installations. We are currently working on improving and updating our facilities to ensure a comfortable stay for all our guests. Additionally, we understand your concerns regarding the prices of our products and services, and we will be reviewing our pricing policies to ensure they are reasonable and fair. Regarding the inland transportation charge, we apologize for the misunderstanding. We will ensure that our communication is clearer in the future. Saboga Lodge is a whole vibe! Very tropical/tulum feeling in the natural decor elements and hip electronic pool music quietly playing. This is a full service hotel with coffee, cocktails, meals (food was amazing), etc available on hand which is convenient for it’s remote location. We loved the pool, yoga deck, and overall social spaces in the hotel. The beach directly in front is rocky so it’s not great for swimming but ideal for snorkeling and its a 10 min walk along the shore to Encanto beach which is gorgeous. I’d definitely recommend Saboga Lodge for couples/friends looking for a place to unwind and be able to enjoy hotel amenities (possibly the only place offering this on the island). Plus there is nearly NO ONE at the beaches here which is quite special to be able to enjoy to yourself. This is a hidden gem that won’t be a secret for long!

Disappointing... The place is great but the service is so poor. We booked one of suites, but no towels available those days, no sheets for the extra bed, the food was really bad especially the 'avocado toasts' and 'the quesadillas'. Also the cocktails were really bad. And for all the days we stayed the 'fish of the day' was out of order... The matress was bad too. And we almost couldnt open the doors of the suite to go to the terrace because they are so heavy that you need 2 persons to open them. No value for money! And on top of that, they say they are ECO but 5 meters behind the lodge the workers were burning plastic garbarge in the woods..🙄
