It is so sad to rate this hotel because my wife was brought up in the town and I worked in the town years ago. We decided to to go the hotel to watch the rugby and have a meal. Well what a disaster, two of us had pork ribs and it was obviously it was yesterday’s or the day before. It was the worst meal ever It was charred and tough and horrible. We didn’t finish our meals and didn’t watch the final stages of the rugby because it was so bad. The previous owners would be devastated. It was also sad to see there was only one barman to handle a var full of people. Don’t even bother going for a meal.

My son and I stayed for 2 nights and the hotel was clean and the beds really comfortable. The staff are super friendly and relaxed and helpful. I can't express how amazing the food is - the on-site smoker makes the BEST brisket and ribs. The smoked butter was extraordinary. Desserts also really good - if you can't stay the night, do yourself a favour and at least have a meal there. The beer they brew is also really good. Thanks for having us, we will be back.

The vegetarian lasagne was fabulous!!!! It was extreme tasty. It was hot, fresh and moist. I certainly would recommend the vegetarian lasagne to all who are planning on visiting the Omakau commercial pub.

Just wandered into town and found the Dark Horse Tap Room at the back of the pub. Great garden, great playlist! And you have to try the brisket burger. Has to be one of the best burgers I've had. Amazing! Good choice of their own brewed bet as well. Highly recommend
