Staying at the "Ocean Breeze Hotel" made our 8 weeks of medical treatment away from home alot more enjoyable. It's in a great location, has very comfortable rooms but the staff was what made all the difference. Always keen to help, interested and they worked hard to ensure our comfort under difficult circumstances, including booking us the same room on each return. Our home away from home!

We stayed here for two nights and we loved it. Our room had an amazing view of the city and harbour bridge. The room was spacious and clean, the carpet was a bit dated, but that didnt bother us. Check in was easy, the receptionist was lovely and very accommodating.
One downside was the bathroom you had to get through to it through the main bedroom and there was no windows which made is quite claustrophobic and the air vent to get rid of the steam was broken.
Other than that, we will definitly recommend and stay again next time we are in Auckland 😁

I was very happy with our stay. The units are large with great ocean views. Walking distance from the Bayswater Ferry. Free onsite parking. A small gym with cardio equipment.

The bed was comfortable, good sized bathroom and ample shortage space. Great balcony off our bedroom and lounge areas. Having the separate lounge is always handy. A great kitchen including a dishwasher, washing machine and all you would need to make a meal.

The motel could do with a few handy man chores and the onsite restaurant is close but honestly for the price I have no complaints at all.

Attentive staff. Thank you

We stayed at the Hotel for 2 nights. The location is brilliant and the views are breathtaking but it stops right there sadly.
The property is very old and tired and in serious need of a refurbishment. Do t get fooled by the pictures on booking.com - they are sadly not what the apartments are currently like at all.
The clerk at the Front Desk was not at all interested when we checked in and was very clinical with her approach.
On entering the apartment we noticed that the kitchen counter was very low. Also noticed that the bathroom had handles and a seat for a disabled person.
When we queried theFront desk we were informed that all the rooms were the same. This wasnt mentioned on booking.com.
On check in we were handed a paper which stated that the apartments were only serviced once a week but towels could be requested to be changed daily.
Well on the second morning, we kept the used towels outside the room. Requested new ones from the Frontdesk when we were leaving.
When we returned 5 hours later, there were no towels in the room.
Had to ask the Frontdesk again for some.
The apartments are not maintained to any standard.
The carpets were quite dusty and dirty.
The curtains are terrible and falling off the racks.
The sofa in the lounge was most uncomfortable.
All in all we certainly didnt feel like we got any value for money and will definitely not be returning back.

Our second time staying here in the last year, and will return. It’s convenient to the CBD ferry and sailing at Wakatere.
The apartments are a good size with well appointed small kitchenettes. The balcony and city and harbour views are appreciated
The bed is a good size and decent pillows etc. The shower pressure and flow is a little underwhelming. The couch- sofa bed in 207 is uncomfortable / poorly designed.
No recycling facilities or nods to a greener- less wasteful approach- lot of single use individual wrapped products in kitchen and bathroom.
The lady on reception at check in was super friendly and helpful, other staff less so!

I am giving this four stars based on cleanliness and the amazing views of the city across the way. The beds were comfortable, and our 2 bedroom harbour view unit was spacious. We did not use the TV, as it seemed to be inconvenient to try to figure out. The unit did have a combo washer/dryer, which was such a nice surprise, but we could not get the dryer to work. The property is in great need of overall updates, but the rooms were great. The parking situation is fine for small cars, but for our oversized mini-bus, parking was difficult, given the fact that half of the parking lot was blocked off due to damage. This hotel is not centrally in Takapuna, more like between Devonport and Takapuna. But we didn't mind the location. It was just in a residential area, and it was perfect for morning walks!

I came from Australia (after a 2-week vacation there) and had never been to New Zealand before. I had no idea what to expect or what the Hotel was going to be like. It is an older hotel, but they are doing a lot of renovation! It is not the cleanest (again, doing renovations), but I felt it was well worth the money. The view of Auckland over the bay was worth it alone! It is just a short walk from the ferry to downtown Auckland. Across the street from a bus stop. I had my table by the window, a full private balcony, a kitchen area (fyi: no oven), fridge, freezer, dishes', pretty much everything I needed. If I ever get the chance to return to New Zealand, I will probably stay here. Don't forget the hosts, they were very patient and understanding. I give them a 5 star alone! GREAT STAY!
Photos below are from my balcony in my room! :D

Room Tip: Be patient if they are still improving. Far from perfect, but overall, for me anyway, GREAT deal!

This is my second stay, and like the first time, it was very comfortable and relaxing. Upon arrival, I asked them about a lift as my sister inlaw had a disability so they moved us up to the next level. The room service was great with very pleasant and polite staff. My sister inlaw had a fall in the lobby, and they were very quick to assist to help. If you want a room with a view, then book room 213 as we will be requesting this same room next time.

Some maintenance needs doing though.

This is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in - it has everything you need for a very relaxed stay (and odd things we asked for like extra coathangers were provided within seconds). The apartment is huge, the bed is huge and very comfortable, there is everything you need in the kitchen area with beautifully clean, quality kitchenware, there's a dishwasher and washing machine (with powders) and iron, the sofa is comfortable, the TV has Sky channels, there are great views from the balcony, the air con is super efficient, the staff on reception are really friendly and welcoming, the apartment is serviced daily with fresh towels and restocking of teas, coffees, toilet rolls etc ... there is absolutely nothing not to like - the location might seem a little isolated but the ferry terminal is a 10 minute walk away and gets you to the City very quickly and the no 8O1 bus is 3 mins walk from the door - and enabled frequent visits to Devonport to eat - and full exploration of all the North Shore beaches. We absolutely loved our week's stay here and would come back again without question! Thank you team Ocean Breeze!
