Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed for 2 nights for work. There were all necessary amenities for self catering with kitchen area, large fridge freezer and utensils. The bedroom area was spacious and the rooms were all clean. The shower had very little water pressure so was more of a trickle, so that was a let down in an otherwise comfortable stay. Wi fi is free though lasts for 24 hours after which you need to get a another voucher from reception to renew. 4 users share the wi fi so if the others are high user they may use up the allowance. The West Wave leisure complex is only a few minutes walk away, so is ideal for an early morning or evening swim or workout in the gym.

We are locals who needed to stay for 4 nights at short notice while repairs were done to our house. We needed a wheelchair accessible room. Nothing was too much trouble including early check in. The room was clean and spacious with a washer dryer and big fridge. All staff we encountered were efficient, friendly and ensured we had everything we needed. A bedside lamp was replaced immediately we reported that it was not working. Highly recommended.

Everything you need for a trip away. The rooms are a good size, modern and clean. An added bonus of having the ability have food delivered and charged back from local resturants was great. Arriving late is the only downfall as reception closes early, you then are greeted with an answer service who by the time I got in the door 10minutes had passed.

Friendly staff, close to amenities, good parking, easy! Stayed for one night for work, room clean and tidy, easy parking, and the friendliest staff with good recommendations for dinner. I left something behind in my room, and as not too far away, staff dropped off for me - very kind! Would stay again.

My wife, two children and I stayed at Quest Apartments in Henderson, New Zealand for three nights but paid for four, since the staff would not accommodate our early (ended up being approximately 4 AM or 5 AM) check-in without charging us for an additional night. Then, when we got to the apartment, I was disappointed to learn that it had no pool nor free Internet, as its website clearly advertises. (Thus, we ended up paying an additional $30 for Internet service -- $15 per day, for the two days that we used it.) Furthermore, the kitchen was minimally stocked in terms of utensils, and when I asked for proper utensils, I was told that they either had none or was given suboptimal substitutes. Also, the cleaning staff needed to be directed in order to obtain proper room servicing.

Now, over a week after our stay, the company charged us additional, bogus fees for parking, etc. that we were not previously informed about and did not, previously, nor do we, now, agree to.

Overall the stay was marginal, at best, and the price is excessive (prior to the hidden fees for parking, etc.). So, we were glad to be leaving, when our check-out date arrived.

I chose this hotel as it was an apartment hotel and close to where we needed to be to visit my elderly father. We usually stay at the only other hotel in the area and decided to see what the Quest was like. Well, never again. Whilst we were greeted in a reasonably friendly fashion, things went downhill from there. The hallway on our floor reeked like sewerage - it was almost asphyxiating. In our room the couch in the lounge area was badly stained (I put a towel on it before sitting on it). The bed was so uncomfortable and all the springs were protruding and close to the surface. The soap dish in the shower was broken off/missing. Next morning I brought all these things to the attention of the manager. No apology was forthcoming but an explanation that the stench was because something was leaking and he would organise to try and rectify it with blowers to dry it out!!! When we returned to our room later, there were two men (not in any sort of work uniform) and they had put a mattress on the bed. They had stuck a new soap dish on the shower wall and the filthy couch had been cleaned. We had to beg for soap, tea and coffee and the bin in the kitchen wasn't emptied. It didn't have much in it, but one of the employees asked my husband if we wanted it emptied!!! Isn't that part of the job when the apartments are advertised as "serviced". Why would you need to ask something so basic? All that we complained about was rectified, but all were things that should have been noticed when the room was vacated - dirty couch, no soap dish, bed with protruding springs and the room made ready for the next guests. All in all, very disappointing indeed. The apartments are spacious and if better maintained and managed, although very basic, they would be a handy place to stay for stopovers - but certainly not for a holiday stay.

The duty manager barely spoke English and appeared to be only a teenager. The room had such a rancid, caustic odor that my eyes burned and I instantly developed a headache. The manager originally said it was fresh paint but then retracted and admitted it was the (toxic) cleaning agent used on the floor. There were grease stains on the bedding. The alternative room they offered after I insisted was even stinkier (smelt of human B.O. and bad curry) and the 100-year old bed sagged about 10 cm in the middle. The duty manager phoned the general manager and they spoke only in Hindi. The GM stated they would remop the floor but, without even seeing the room for himself, denied the other problems and stated he would charge me ecen if I left. I left and found a better hotel and am disputing any charge by Quest Henderson. Do not stay here!

This hotel while rated as a four star hotel would have difficulty in even reaching a three star rating. The lobby is well presented, but in reality that's where it stops. Rooms were tidy, lacking details to present a clean environment. There are parts of this hotel in need of serious repair. The constant strange odour from level 1 hallway has already been mentioned but remains to linger on my visit. For the price of the room / apartment ($140), can I advise trying somewhere else. Never again would I stay here.

Reception was unfriendly. Room were very basic and needed repair. Bathroom dirty and mirror had spot marks that remained in place for the two days we were there. Towels weren't replaced as requested. Bed uncomfy and poorly made. Not great. Won't be back ever.

We stayed one night, that was enough. On arrival the non personalised desk attendant informed us the payment had already been taken from our credit card 48 hours prior to our arrival. We wanted to pay cash and thought our c/c details were merely to secure the booking prior to arrival. Not so. It appears we didn't read the fine print. To our room and the swipe 'key' card was so worn it took some time to get it to activate the door lock. The room was average.at best. Internet charge was exhorbatent and the charge for the unsecure car park is a rip off when you can park on the road right outside the main entrance for free. Think carefully before deciding on staying here.
