The breakfast is just OK but there was a Hotel Manager (Mr. Win Oo Tan) who fighting over phone during breakfast time in the breakfast room. It was super annoying to start a day. To all potential guests, please expect a service managed by an unprofessional manager. You can see a dog sleeping dog in the gym. Reception is often no one standby. Room service takes a very long time and need to remind and follow up via phone several times.

I stayed for three days on business in the Aureum Palace. The place is spacious, golf-course style hotel, and the staff ways friendly and helpful. Most speak a good English. The only let-down was a chicken curry I ordered, which would have been more accurately described as chicken-bone curry. For one, there was very little curry sauce, two: most of the "chicken" in the curry was bones, little meat. In my book this is a minor issue and I'd be happy to stay there again.

Dear bpo-spam, Thank you so much for choosing our property for your business trip in Nay Pyi Taw and your precious reviews. We are sorry to read that you didn't have menu explanation of our service staff when you ordered the chicken curry. In our hotel, we use local product for traditional chicken curry which has less meat than CP input product, except it, we use the CP input product for other types of chicken menu. We understand it’s frustrating to miss out on something you looked forward to. From now on, we’re working with our team to ensure that it never happens again and we will give the product information to the guest when we take their order. We’d greatly appreciate the opportunity to make things right and work toward earning back your business. With best regards, Ohnmar (Ms.) General Manager Aureum Palace Hotel Nay Pyi Taw

This hotel does not look like the website photos. First of all the pool is in disrepair, with broken lights and wires in the water. There were only a handful of chairs around the pool. Leaves and dust everywhere. Our rooms, while spacious, with a patio were far removed from the main building and for three women traveling together-- we felt unsafe. The path to the rooms was dark. We were kept up all night by drunken Chinese businessmen in adjacent rooms. Breakfast was another long hike away. We had dinner here one night- in the Chinese restaurant. Service was almost non-existent and haphazard. Would definitely *Not* recommend this resort.

Dear Juniper C; Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to give your feedback. We were disappointed to read that you did not have pleasant moments what you’ve come to expect from us and you had a great inconveniences. We deeply apologize for all uncomfortable circumstances on your precious occasion and we really appreciate your valuable feedback as it helps us identify the areas we can improve the guest experience. Currently, we're taking steps to upgrade the pool facilities, new type of pool lights what we originally provided only DC (Direct Current), path way lighting system, restaurant’s services, and sequences as per HACCP guide lines. We have personally addressed this with our hotel staff to ensure this kind of situations won't happen again in the future. So, we are looking forward giving the best service for you and hope to see you back some day. Ohnmar (Ms.) General Manager Aureum Palace Hotel (Nay Pyi Taw)

Fantastic hotel for couples to relax and unwind, excellent facilities. The ameneties were good and the staff were very helpful. I was taken and picked up from the local shopping mall. Myanmar is a quiet place but a nice place to relax in and to get away from it all.

We had lovely two days stay in this beautiful Resort which had excellent conference facilities. The campus of the Resort is lovely, with a beautiful Lake inside the Resort. Room was lovely, food excellent. They had made special arrangements for Indian food. We had a lovely dinner by the poolside hosted by our Myanmar hosts. Very good stay.

It's a value for money hotel and we always lodge there when we visit Nay Pyi Taw. Since we choose the cheapest price, we are always escorted to the main building (which I like, btw). I've stayed at Aureum Palace Nay Pyi Taw for only two times and both times are not as smooth as they should be. Our room (322) smelled of drainage (filling in the entire room). The staff came to "fix" it, even providing air purifier and freshener in our bathroom, but nothing could help the smell from seeping out. :( The rooms are not properly cleaned and I found two dead cockroaches in my room. Next time, I'm gonna request a higher floor and check out the overall value of lodging at Aureum Palace Hotel again. :) P.S. the housekeeping took a long time checking our check-out procedure (e.g., did we use the mini-fridge, etc, etc.) we became a bit impatient.

This hotel provides a lot of Type G sockets (or is it just our room?) making us difficult to charge our mobile phones (which is Type C plug, I think) in the room. I had to use the hair dryer socket and charge my phone in the bathroom, which was very inconvenient, I should say. We stayed in the main building so the swimming pool was a bit far from our room. The hotel provides buggy service to the pool (I don't know about [from] the pool) and we only used it once for recce purpose. The room is wide and modern, so is the bathroom, which is exactly my taste. The shower sprinkler wasn't too good in my room though. The hair dryer was out of order and the room card wasn't working so we had a manual key instead (I think inspection is needed from time to time). Our room number was 307. Breakfast was nice with some European, Myanmar and a bit of Indian cuisine. The staff at the noodle counter couldn't respond to me at all since he couldn't swallow the saliva in his mouth. Beetle nut, perhaps? I see no other reason why he could not swallow his saliva to communicate with me. That is unacceptable for someone working in a hotel. The other waitresses were a bit loud chatting, too. This is a 4 and a half star hotel, yo. Not enough training of the staff. But no one was rude though. Just lacked a few basic manners. We got some local discounts when booking at their website, so we wouldn't hesitate to lodge there again. Other things were fine. Just need to polish in a few areas mentioned above. :)

FYI--Aureum is owned by a former general in Myanmar's military, the Tatmadaw. I know this because the swimming pool doubles as a spot for lessons. Military families have free access to the complex and one of them filled me in on the details. Good to know as the ownership and background of these places is murky at best. ----------- Just like Naypyitaw--Aureum is huge and immaculate. And there are hardly any guests. I saw about 10 total over 2 days. Only one tourist couple. The rest were on business. I stayed in the main building. Large room, high ceilings, HUGE shower, nice view. TV and small fridge. Breakfast is massive and dinner options aren't half bad either. You could do worse than dining here once. Convenient considering the large distances and hassle of getting around town. The pool area is something else. I might purposely plan a couple days in Naypyitaw mixing touristing in the cooler hours with hanging out poolside in the middle of the day. Slight miscommunication on check out day. I wanted to hang around until dinnertime before heading to the train station. One desk staff said no problem, no extra charge. Ok. I went to the pool to hang out. When I came back around 4pm I was told by a different staff member that I had to pack up immediately because I had passed check out time. Whaaat? Not particularly surprising as most hotels in Myanmar are a bit more casually run, but a bit annoying. ----------- Need to get around Naypyitaw without breaking the bank? Dial up local motorbike taxi driver U Nay Win -- 09261388472. I ran into him when my minibus dropped me off at the shopping center. Lucky for me. Mr U fancies himself an amateur tour guide, so he'll be your best friend. Great family guy. Safe, extra helmet, speaks decent English. Went out of his way to help me on multiple occasions. Very reasonably priced!

The room was comfortable and staff very friendly. Lobby was small, but they allowed us to use the restaurant table for a meeting, so it was convenient. Spacious room and good view. There is no bath tub, but that was not a problem. The restaurant layout is a bit outdated, and only had large tables. So, during breakfast, one needs to be seated with other people, so it was not very comfortable for a lone traveler. Wifi slow....

Stayed here for 2 nights for my son’s birthday. I took the executive bungalow by the lake, the room is quite big and really well done. The outside balcony is a nice area to spend time during mornings/evenings. The staff is courteous and the property is very nice. Given that there is not much to do in the city, you can spend time within the property. Highly recommend to go for a walk during early morning / evening. They have two restaurants , tried the Four stories restaurant and the food is below average . Breakfast is okay though and has enough options. Will strongly recommend, book via agoda to get better rates
