The place felt old and shabby, with the impression that it hadn't been updated for decades. The amenities were poor and wifi almost non-existent in our chalet. Minor touches that show they care about creating a decent experience are missing; for example there was no bin in the kitchenette area, just a small one in the bathroom. Also, they don't clean the room which is important to know if you plan on staying more than one night. Almost no view from our window so the place felt dark and grim.

The rooms were good, nothing was wrong with anything but I wouldn't say it was the best place. I think the rooms just need a little bit of sprucing. It was a quiet room in a nice area. The washing was a little expensive. We took advantage of the spa which was nice and warm on a cold June day.

We had a Scoopon voucher to use and the only available accommodation for Launceston was here. It looked alright so we booked. When we arrived in our room, it didn’t look like the photos we’d seen. The room was very dated, but we had plans to go exploring so didn’t intend on spending much time in the room so wasn’t too worried about that. What was not ok, was the fact that the room was not particularly clean (hair stuck to walls in bathroom), the heating was so old and loud and there was something running outside our window all night which kept me up half the night. Unfortunately because of border closures, we missed the first night of our stay, which also meant we missed out on a lot of the included extras we’d booked. We did have breakfast on one of the mornings. It was average. Not a lot of options and what was there was quite bland. The lady working there that morning seemed quite rude - but whether that was the fact she was the only staff member running the dining room, I’m not sure. The shopping village was cute, but we weren’t able to visit any of the shops because their hours aren’t long enough for those who want to explore Tasmania. We most likely won’t be returning

Made a huge mistake staying here. Went by the pictures. We stayed for 3 nights in the hide away challets. The place is old and falling apart. Not even close to what you see in the pictures. There is no attention to details, smelly carpets, TV as big as desktop screen, sofas old, dirty and patched up, furniture are from the 80s, electric stove of which half doesn't work, tacky paintings, no cushions for the sofa, can't close the bedroom door as they fitted in a bigger size bed that blocks the door from closing completely, taps falling apart, no salt provided for cooking, tea pot had mould in them. I can go on more. My advice would be stay out of this place. Go there for a day trip if you just want pictures for your Insta. If you give this place a miss, beleive me you won't miss anything. It is definitely not a word class accommodation as advertised. Old and falling apart with no care given to upgrade it from the time it wa sbuilt in the 1980s. They have just left it that way without making any effort to uplift it. Take your money some where else.

We intended to stay for two days on our tour around North East Tasmania but fell in love with the resort and stayed for an extra three days. It is a magical place and themed on the original Swiss village. We have toured Switzerland and I think this is why we lilked this resort so much even though we didn'tstayed at the original Grindleward but only travelled through. As always, the people at the resort were so helpful and good hearted. The chalets were priced perfectly and were big! The facilities both in the chalet and in the resort were splendid. They were obviously doing a complete renovation of the entire resort. The restaurant and the eateries on site were great. I can't recommend this resort enough, it is truly a place to visit and stay. You will not be dissapointed!!
