A rather robust bunch of cyclists (14 in total) descended on the Lake Ohau Lodge after a short stint in the saddle. One of the peleton had a fail on their E-bike and got stuck 10kms out from the Lodge. The hosts were brilliant and drove out to pick up our stranded team member. Meanwhile the rest of us waited in the bar taking full advantage of the wonderful hospitality. Certainly a great spot with wonderful views, facilites and hosts.

We stopped here for 4 nights to break the A2O and to meet up with friends. The check in was seamless and our room was clean, spacious and comfortable with a small kitchenette and even a bathtub. . The view out over the lake is stunning and we were lucky to have beautiful weather.. There was only one chair in the room which was annoying as there was no outdoor furniture to use. The laundry facilities are not the best and it was hard to get a turn at using the machine. The staff added to our enjoyment of our stay. Coping with big groups, individual needs, food allergies etc is no mean feat and they managed everything with patience and good humor and professionally. The meals were amazing and we enjoyed the shared lounges, gardens and games room Thank you for having us.

They were excellent serving dinner to 81 people quickly. However, you need to be in a remore corner of NZ these days to have to specify vegetarian as a special diet that needs to be advised in advance.

We stayed here as part of the A2) Cycle tour (master-stroke Ohau Lodge!). The wing we stayed in was as far as you could go and down two flights of stairs. It was tired but adequate. There were two spas which some took advantage of. The restaurant and bar became the focal point and the meals served (choice of venison or pork belly - plus something for vegans etc) were very good considering there were over 100 to feed simultaneously. The ambience of the bar area (roaring fire) was great and we lingered a while after dinner. There were laundry facilities which we used.

What a gem. From the moment of arrival this was a most enjoyable experience and couldn’t be in a more stunning location. The staff are very welcoming and helpful including the bike mechanic. The lounges and dining area super comfortable with a tasteful style - beautiful fabrics and textures. The food was excellent and great wine choices.
