The Premier Inn Southampton North hotel is lauded for its strategic location near Southampton docks and its tranquil setting, complemented by ample complimentary parking and a range of nearby dining options. While guests commend the friendly service and spotless facilities, some have encountered difficulties with room assignments and customer service.
Although the rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness and comfort, contributing to a peaceful atmosphere, issues such as poor ventilation and subpar amenities like thin towels have been noted. Additionally, a £8 parking fee has left many travelers questioning the hotel's overall value.

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed twice before a cruise. Good quiet location with parking and a really decent Beefeater where we had a great evening meal and breakfast the following morning. Would recommend. Always sleep well in a premier Inn. Lovely staff.

We have twice stayed here for overnight stays and both times were extremely satisfied with everything. Now we have just had a four night stay and again it was a very good experience. Staff on reception were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The room (we have the same one each time) was spotlessly clean, nicely aired and quiet. The bathroom gave us constant hot water with excellent pressure for showering or filling the bath.
There is a bus stop immediately outside the hotel with a half-hourly service into Southampton centre (takes about 25 minutes) or to Romsey the other way 20 minutes (well worth a visit). Parking at the hotel is good.
My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the room was not overly warm during a fairly cold week and we were not able to control the temperature. Everything else about the room was excellent.

We stayed here for one night before a trip to Peppa Pig World. It was a great family room for the price we paid, with plenty of space for all of us. Clean, comfy beds and bathroom, plus the walls weren’t too thin so we couldn’t hear much noise from others. The only negative was the room was boiling hot and beds all had really thick duvets on, but we all just slept on top of the quilts! We’d definitely stay here again for another trip to Paulton’s Park

I'm posting this after receiving dismissive treatment from the social media team who I wanted to give time to resolve this, but their apathy was easy to see. We checked in on 01 June 2021. We checked into a room that clearly hadn't been cleaned, which we get happens, but as someone who was being very cautious due to shielding until I had both jabs, we specifically chose the Premier Inn because of the CleanProtect promise...... Whilst there was an insincere apology, clearly the lady was more bothered about the fact she was now going to have to clean the room, than our concern. We were moved to another room which was absolutely fine, apart from we only had one small towel. We spoke to the gentleman on reception who informed us that they had no more towels and gave us essentially a couple of bath mats. We then tried to logon to the internet and that wasn't working and again headed off to reception to ask about it, where there was another person also doing the same. The lady on reception said, "it isn't working and we've called Virgin." When we remarked that we would not be able to work without the internet, her reply was "Oh well, you can't please everyone." There is a positive. A gentleman called Dean was working on the morning of 02 June when we came back from breakfast. When we asked if the wifi had been fixed he was extremely helpful and arranged for us to have the 'ultimate' wifi so that we could actually do some work.

This is an older premier inn quite dated but does the job, somewhere to sleep a s shower
There are two floors, the main reception and several rooms in one building and across the carpark is another building of rooms
We were in the building with the main reception on the 2nd floor
Reception is strictly manned, check in is dead on 3pm no early, and clearly marked spots to stand so you are safely separated from other guests waiting to queue. Check in is fast, and you are told of the limited amenities in your room and offered to request extra towels and pillows
The main reception is small with a vending machine with various drinks and snacks, along with various maps for local attractions
As far as I could see there is no lift, just a staircase so I would properly recommend if you are unable to use stairs to perhaps ring ahead although just the one flight
Rooms are as a standard premier inn are, this had no air con but there was a fan in the room.
Their is a dressing mirror I like to call with plugs for hair appliances a small wardrobe with hangers and a small drawer
A desk again with plugs, a very old hairdryer kettle with a few sachets but you can ask to replenish.
Your bed, and a chair to one side
The bathroom was a shower over a bath, again a towel each but you could ask for more and then the vanity area over the sink
Also on the site is a Beefeater, I would strongly recommend you pre book this as it gets booked up fast especially over the weekend. This is also where breakfast is served, again which you need to book a slot for so I would do on arrival.
The restaurant is fine, breakfast is buffet style which you pick from a menu and is brought to your table and you go serve yourself to tea and coffee at a machine
If you cannot eat on site, there is a really nice pub a short walk across the road if you turn left out of the car park
This hotel can be busy as it’s about 10/15 min drive from Peppa Pig world
You are also about 15 minutes from the main centre, and about 30 minutes from Portsmouth which is worth a visit

Probably the worst Premier Inn I have stayed in to date, and I stay in a lot due to work! This was my second visit here which I wasn’t looking forward to because my first was unpleasant, but nowhere as bad as the second!
Staff were unpleasant, surly and even lied to me.
Couldn’t get a table at the attached restaurant at an hour that most workers need in the morning; 9.30 was the earliest they could offer, what a joke for someone who is on a work trip! Also, couldn’t get a table for evening meal until very late. Luckily, found a MUCH better restaurant just round the corner which typically cost £5 more per main course than a Beefeater but was streets ahead of the slop served the first time I visited (look up The Four Horseshoes – left out of hotel, left at lights, follow to end of road).
Rooms tired and dirty. Carpet dirty and could do with a good vacuum. Windows disgusting. Half the TV channels wouldn’t work.
Bathroom this time was disgusting with bodily fluids around and inside of the toilet. Bath had hair in it. (Didn’t use the bathroom until the morning, so wasn’t possible to demand a room swap). So much for their ‘Premier Inn CleanProtect enhanced hygiene promise’.
No apology from the morning receptionist when faults pointed out.

Premier Inn always delivers such great value for money with a guaranteed comfy bed and great customer service.
Another faultless stay at Premier Inn... this time at Southampton North
I had dinner at the Beefeater on site and wasn’t disappointed there either. Excellent customer service and a lovely meal

We only stayed here for 1 night as it was close to Paultons Park. The value for money was great, only £36 for a family room and we paid another £50 on top for a meal deal for myself and my husband (2 courses and a drink each for dinner at the Beefeater on site and unlimited breakfast). Would definitely recommend the meal deal. We were able to use the car park from when we turned up at lunch time and were also able to check in early at 3.30 (4pm is the check in time currently) which was a bonus. The young chap we checked in with was lovely (I didn't catch his name), he gave us a lot of information on breakfast, the meal deal and on Paultons Park. I felt he went above and beyond in helping us, answering any questions we had. Our room was clean and comfortable, one thing was the tap had a lot of pressure so my partner and I got soaked when we turned it on! Would stay here again and recommend.

Stayed for 2 nights 2 x rooms 4 adults
Check in was really quick, and we were in the annex, across from reception.
Rooms good and clean with all the usual premier inn standards, however if you needed anything it was always a trek across car park, twice we had to do this to request more tea bags, sugar and then to request a 2nd towel as on our 2nd day they only put 1 to share between the 2 of us.
Now what really lets this PI down is the beefeater, yes it was a busy Saturday & Sunday, but they ran out of lots of things for evening meals, drinks and breakfast items, will leave a seprate review.
Would not stay in the PI again

We stayed 12th-14th of this month and couldn’t be anymore happy with the service we received. On the Sunday we were greeted by the nice lady with blonde hair who made us feel super welcome straight away, she was so helpful and made us less anxious about staying with a baby who needed formula clean bottles etc which she done for us in the staff room.
Juan popped kids coulorings, sweets and chocolates in the room for us so instantly my little girl was super pleased and happy, we were treated with respect and the most kindness! Smiles constantly, had a laugh and were made to feel comfortable. So too the lady on Sunday around 5pm when we checked in & to Juan, thank you both. You’re truly a credit to your team and managment!

Premier Inn Southampton North is perfect for a pre-cruise stay when sailing from Southampton.
There’s a restaurant and a bar but I believe this is only open for breakfast at present.
It has just a few tables outside of the entrance
Yes, West Quay taxies are very good, based in town I think, 02380223450 they charged me £16.50p this year each way. Not sure if they are cheapest bu5 you get what you pay for. If you tell them you have cruise luggage they send an estate at least. If you pay cheap you will probably get a small car!
Roger.
