Monteverdi Tuscany is a luxury hilltop hotel surrounded by the Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is centrally located 2 hours from Rome and 90 minutes from Florence. In 2023, Monteverdi unveiled new rooms and suites, a meeting and retreat center, and a new Spa & Wellness Center with a distinctive approach that blends ancient beauty rituals and time-tested luxury beauty products with modern treatments and therapies. The property has a range of culinary options: a casual dining restaurant that celebrates tradition Tuscan flavors with modern interpretations, a stunning Lounge & Terrace Bar with sweeping views of Tuscany and a Library Bar. Guests can also take part in hands-on classes and chef's table experiences at the Culinary Academy. A forthcoming fine dining concept, Oreade, opens in Spring 2025. Monteverdi also offers an art gallery with exhibitions from leading international artists and a concert series performed by renowned musicians and vocalists.

This is honestly one of the loveliest hotels and indeed destinations we have ever been luck enough to visit. Although only at Monteverdi for 3 days, this place will stay in our hearts forever and has sparked a new love for everything Tuscan!

It’s truly a magical place, not an ordinary hotel but more like being welcomed into a village filled with heart, family, history, landscapes and nature.

Every touch is curated and considered, beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean, yet our whole experience felt effortless, almost dream like.

Our room was faultless with a view so amazing it was like we were looking out at a painting. Every-time we opened the shutters we were in awe of the landscape. And our room felt like a part of that landscape, natural materials and colours with just the right amount of luxury. The bath was something else too!!!

The restaurant food was perfection at every visit, excellent quality, plenty of variety, authentic, every ingredient with a farm to fork story. Made even better dining in a stunning hilltop location with great service.

The most relaxing, beautiful spa we have ever experienced, plunge pools, botanicals, a grotto like pool and still with views from every window.

The service is warm, faultless and truly 7 star. Nothing was hard work for us. We were so well looked after by a team who demonstrated so much pride and passion for their work and the ethos of the hotel and village. From presenting us with little homemade in room gifts at every turn down, to fresh flowers in our room. From excellent food and wine recommendations, to mixing us bespoke cocktails to our own personal taste in the bar. Everything was a joy to experience.

We especially loved being amongst the unspoiled landscape, butterflies, bees and friendly insects galore. Scents of lavender and jasmine wafting in the breeze, the faint sound of harvesting tractors in the far distance, no traffic, few people and most importantly… peace! All enjoyed from every corner of the village, the delightful infinity pool, the flower gardens, the terrace bar, everywhere!

Our main reason to visit the hotel was to relax and our stay at Monteverdi certainly delivered. This was achieved still when there is so much to do at the hotel. We chose wine tasting, olive oil tasting, the spa water circuit, the chef’s table and we were also lucky enough to attend a string quartet concert in the beautifully restored church. Every single experience was completely bespoke and magical and we have left feeling that Monteverdi has given us the best experience of Tuscany we could have hoped for - exceeding expectations on all counts. We can’t wait to return. Thank you to everyone at Monteverdi.

I could not recommend the hotel more. The views from the property are stunning and the grounds themselves are beautifully maintained and easy to get around. Massimo and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodated all of our needs promptly and professionally, especially impressive considering the large size of our family (over 15 people). The included breakfast options were excellent; I ordered a different entree every day and each was better than the last. Our room itself (and the villa our family stayed in) was beautifully decorated and very comfortable.

The only negative is the hotel's remoteness. If you are interested in exploring more of Tuscany during your stay, you'll either need to rent a car or expect to pay a lot for taxi rides. That said, there is so much to do at the hotel (a refreshing hilltop pool, nearby scenic hiking trails, cooking classes, a cocktail lounge, a spa, etc.) that you can have a wonderful stay without ever leaving.

My husband and I were very excited to stay at Monteverdi Tuscany. The idea of a village turned into a spectacular hotel intrigued us. The drive to the hotel is interesting. There is a stretch of gravel road to get the the hotel. Once you are parked the grounds are extensive and beautiful. We were given a tour and shown to our room. The staff are very kind and helpful. We chose a village room (#5). It was average in size with a king size bed. From the web site the rooms look quite a bit larger and for the luxury price the room was a bit of a surprise in its simplicity. Our bathroom had a serious issue. The rainfall shower head is positioned in a way that floods the bathroom floor regardless of how hard you try to avoid it. The sink is a designers dream, but difficult to use since there is no ledge around it.

The breakfast was first rate and the two meals we had at Oreade were exceptional. Everything in the restaurant is well-thought out and beautifully served. The sommelier was very good and helped us pick a couple of wonderful glasses to pair with our meal. The Spa is very nice with interesting water options on the circuit and felt very relaxing before the excellent couples massages. The appetizers served with cocktails in the bar were also excellent--cheese puffs, crackers with chicken liver pate, and vegetable crisps. Given the luxury prices my advice is to spend a bit more for a nicer room. The village room fell short of our expectations.

Spent 3 nights in Tuscany at the most unique boutique resort and spa in all of Italy...Monteverdi.
Travel back in time and experience quiet serenity. Monteverdi's amazing staff offer you pampering service from the moment you arrive and quickly feel like longtime friends. The restaurant and wine list is as spectacular as the sunsets and sunrises both provided by this hilltop retreat. Whether you are enjoying one of the myriad activities (from cooking classes to tours of the ancient century walled cities or award winning vineyards nearby) you will be taken by the architecture, history and beauty of Monteverde and surrounding area. We loved it!!!

I could not find a direct link for the restaruant but could not let it go without review. We traveled there from cortona for lunch nd it was the best exeprience we had.
I’ve spoken about thse forces of natures and Simone was the most memorable Somme ever. Opinionated in that loving Italian way. He was our guide and our nanny - scolding us if we were being obviously pedestrian or over complciating things. Like when our firend wanted to mix balsamic with olive oil for bread dipping simpling saying “For me? No.” He was thrilled when I ordered the Nativi Wines - not because it was expensive - in fact was among the most affordable but because he was from there and the wines represented history.
the steak was to die for.
Delicious Fried artichokes
Ham Nero Etruscan
Tartare
Nativi wines
Delicious olive oil
It is must tript o take.

In a place where the world feels still, the gentle rustle of the breeze and the soft embrace of golden light create a sanctuary of peace. The quiet here is profound, a soothing balm that allows you to breathe deeply and simply exist in the moment. It’s a haven where tranquility reigns, and every corner seems to whisper calm and serenity.

This is one of the finest resorts we have ever experienced. The views are incredible and the staff is on top of every detail making our stay at Monteverdi perfecto! Many thanks to the team at the spa that made our couples massage something to remember. The easy access to nearby towns and wine tours was expertly handled by the staff so we did not have to worry about those details and logistics. We look forward to coming back.

We had the most wonderful time at Monteverdi Tuscany! Between the food, service (oh the service!), spa, pool, and views, we were so overwhelmed with joy that we almost shed tears. Be sure to order just about everything off the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, get a massage, and chop it up with their incredible bartender and sommelier. If you need anything, the concierge will go above and beyond to help you. We miss it so much and think about our experience often! We’ll definitely be back.

This place is magical. You feel like family in an updated village town. The staff and guests were all so friendly. It is small and you really get to know everyone "on campus". The food is amazing. We didn't get a chance to take a cooking class but other guests raved about it.

I would recommend getting a car as it is remote and you don't want to rely of hiring drivers to go check out wineries, restaurants and other history. We also did a bike tour that was fun.

We had an absolutely magical stay at Monteverdi.
We were blown away by the fairytale rural village on the top of the hill, meticulously restored, with breathtaking views of the Val d’Orcia. We took walks around the property every morning, every time discovering new picturesque paintable corners with abundance of natural beauty and serenity that we couldn’t get enough of.
This unique property offers more than one could expect from a resort: we found an archeological site, the old church converted to an intimate concert hall, and a small well curated art gallery.
Our suite was an example of modern comfort.
The spa is top notch, it shouldn’t be missed.
But mostly we were impressed by the incredible people and outstanding service! I would rather call it treatment instead of service.
I would like to thank Massimiliano and Massimo, the caring and patient managers, Jorge and Noa - our kindest servers, unfortunately I didn’t catch other servers' names, and Giancarlo for the delicious dinners and the cooking class. Sabrina who helped at the shop, Costanza and Sam at the flower lab, Marco at the SPA and many other wonderful people who took care of us. We plan to come back as a couple and with our family soon.
