Treetops is a quiet self contained unit beneath the host's house set among beautiful gardens visited by the birds. Continental breakfast is included. The unit has a sink, microwave, bar fridge, kettle, toaster and essential utensils and a pleasant ensuite bathroom. The unit was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, the shower hot and strong and everything you needed was provided. There are nice views out towards the bay from the breakfast table and breakfast was delicious with local preserves and croissants in addition to the usual cereal, toast and yoghurts. Parking is available at the entrance to the driveway and is flatter and easier to access than it appeared in some photos. The walk into Portobello itself is not far and down a hill but parking was so easy in town that we lazily chose to drive. Brenda our host was very friendly and full of helpful information and advice to inform our stay. Thanks to her recommendations for example, we saw sealions on Allen's Beach and toured the albatross centre when the young albatross were active later in the day. We are also very pleased we chose to view the fairy penguins here as well. We highly recommend this accommodation for a stay on the Otago Peninsula.

very welcoming host, beautiful room with everything you need and only short down the road for dinner. Was good to find this place to get away from being in the main city, Located out near the albatross colony.

We saved the best accommodation for last! Brenda and Wayne were exceptional hosts and the room was top notch and sparkly clean. Breakfast bread, rolls, yogurt, jam were provided. Wayne loaned one of us golf clubs to play on St Clair golf club where he is a former president. We also liked the 1908 restaurant, suggested by our hosts. Nice rural setting with lots of birds in the private garden.

It was a beautiful end to our honeymoon by staying three nights here. We found the place lovely and calm. We enjoyed the nature surrounded by flora and fauna. Our stay was accompanied by a singing tui in the wild. The self-contained unit is located on the ground floor and the hosts (Brenda and Wayne) are living upstairs. We were provided with two pillow each. The bed was comfortable to sleep on. Other amenities such as bedside lamps, TV with DVD player, torch light, iron and cloth hangers are available. The free wifi service with password is provided. The spacious room is nicely decorated and equipped with a kitchenette including microwave oven, electrical kettle, toaster, cutlery and tableware. Coffee, tea and chocolate are provided. The ensuite modern bathroom was clean. There is a washing basin, a hot/cold standing shower, toilet, half-body length mirror, face towel, body towel, and floor mat. Toiletries such as shampoo, shower gel and toilet paper are provided. There are two resting chairs and a small table located outside of the room, which is the garden area. Both Brenda and Wayne were welcoming and friendly. They provided us with useful information and travel suggestion. We loved the beautiful view from the big window while enjoying the delicious breakfast prepared by Brenda. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we highly recommend Treetops B & B.

The most wonderful and cosy B&B I have stayed in. Wayne and Brenda were just lovely from the time we got here to the moment we left. They gave us information on all the places to visit as well as roads to take. Total privacy, comfy bed, breakfast each morning and the view was just magical. I would recommend anyone to stay in this very special place. Thank you Wayne and Brenda.. we will be back to see you real soon 😀

A beautiful view and lovely surroundings. It was private and allowed for an intimate stay without disruption. The room was very very well heated, clean and tidy. It had a quaint unusual decor which added to its charm. We would also recommend a visit to Cafe 1908 as the food was the best we have had so far on our trip. Lots of scenic walks and geocaches to be found. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at TreeTops B&B! The view of Otago harbor from our room reminded me of Puget sound, and the grounds of Treetops are beautiful and pleasant. Wayne and Brenda had recently mulched using ground eucalyptus leaves and limbs, and I enjoyed the aroma while strolling. Our room was pleasant, roomy, and clean, and Brenda and Wayne were very helpful and friendly to us. It's easy to drive along peninsula from TreeTops to other parts of the peninsula, but we especially enjoyed the beautiful and peaceful walk along Allan's Beach Road, just outside of TreeTops. Also, it's an easy walk along this road from TreeTops to the main part of town on Portobello Street, where you can find a filling station, store, and great fish and chips. We highly recommend TreeTops B&B!
