I slept fot two nights in Hospedaje La Zingara and it was a place that will be impossible to forget . Clemencia, the owner is really a kind woman that she makes you like you are in your house , after a long night trip from Medellin I was arrived in Sapzurro very early in the morning to do the check in but Clemencia give me the room because it was ready and she offering me also a fresh lemonade and 3 litres of purified water to drink.
The room and the hotel are located in a peace full place just two minutes walk from the pier and long the way to arrive in Playa La Miel in Panamà.The rooms are super clean, confortable and completely surrounded by tropical forest greenery and more the room is spacious with a private bathroom and a perfect shower. The Windows and bed have the mosquito net very helpfull in this area. The breakfast also is really good and fresh, Clemencia cooks it each day for her guests . Has been a pity to spend just two nights in Sapzurro because was like a paradise and Hospedaje La Zingara was a magic place especially when from the balcony of the room , while lie down on the hammock , surrounded by the sounds of nature, you think about that a place like this exists also in the reality.
I really advice this lovely place !!!

I think this is the best place to stay in Sapzurro and for us the best place we stayed at in Colombia (and we have seen many different places). The house is situated a bit away from the beach (2 mins walking) in the forest and from the balcony (in the hammocks) you have a view over the bay to the ocean and it is absolutely fantastic and breathtaking and romantic. You will have a lot of birds in the trees which is great. The owner Clemencia is a great person and I really loved talking with her and getting her tips. I think she is one of the best person we met on our 4 month trip and i will definitely go back there even if it is only to meet her again. don't think - just go there and enjoy!

Response from Maríaclemenciac C, Propietario at Zingara
Responded 23 May 2014
GRACIAS ¡¡¡¡

Cannot speak more highly of this tiny homestay/hostel and the owner Clemencia. She made us feel like we were here children in the 4 nights we stayed with her. She gave us awesome recommendations for beaches to check out and places to snorkel. She let us borrow her snorkel and even flip flops when my girlfriend broke hers on the horrible boat ride from Turbo to Capurgana. She cooked amazing fresh breakfast every morning with eggs and the avocados that we could hear falling from her tree every night when it rained. the room was huge, clean, and had its own balcony with two hammocks offering amazing views of the village and bay below. One of the nicest people we met in Colombia. Place is amazing, check it out.

We stayed at Clemencia's for 5 nights and it was beautiful!
We booked the double room and everything was lovely starting from Clemencia's hospitality she made us feel at home immediately.
Everything is surrounded by nature, birds and butterflies we really needed it after many days in loud cities.
If you like a calm and private setting Sapzurro and Zingara are the perfect choice.
Clemencia served us delicious sweet breakfast as we like it and good info about the area.
We highly recommend it especially to couples!

We stayed with Mrs Clemencia for 5 nights in July this year and absolutely loved it. Clemencia was the most welcoming and warm-hearted host you could wish for. Over breakfast, she shared with us so many exciting stories about her life in Sapzurro, the political situation in the region and Colombia in general. The place itself is super clean, comfortable and nicely located. Try to get the top room and enjoy the perfect ocean view while lying in the hammock on the balcony. Would go back there anytime. It's a magnificient place with a super friendly host.

On a trip where we traveled along the entire coast of Colombia, our stay at Zingara with Clemencia actively stands out as the most hospitable and welcoming of our trip. Inviting us into our stay with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, Clemencia was attentive to our needs but also respectful of our privacy, a kind and hugely caring person who it was a pleasure to be around as we came and went from the hotel. Fantastically wonderful breakfasts, beautiful views, impeccably clean rooms - Zingara is a truly lovely spot.
The practicals: in February 2018, we paid 50,000/pax which included a huge and wonderful breakfast as well delicious coffee available throughout the day, private room, private bathroom, private balcony. A beautiful stay.

Loved my 4 nights I stayed with Clemencia. Such a great hostel/homestay with a perfect location in the back of the village (just where the walk to the beach La Miel starts), also a very good value. The building with the both rooms are based on a small hill so you have a good view over both the sea and the jungle from your balcony (which of course has a hammock!). Clemencia is very sweet and helpful and will take good care of you for sure!
Request to get the upper room (it's worth the higher price).

Tucked away at the back of the village is this charming place run by the super friendly and chatty Clemencia. Both rooms have lovely terraces looking out over the garden and to the bay. Rooms are cosy with wooden floors and walls: god mozzie nets, mattresses a little on the hard side; a fan and neat bathrooms. You are close to the trail to Panama where there are empty but litter covered beaches: a good walk is up to the Mirador en route to Capurgana. To eat do try Cocina Peruana and the Gata Negra. Clemencia does a good breakfast and is very helpful. Music can be loud in the village and there are frequent power cuts when generators start up - bring ear plugs!

We stayed with lovely Clemencia for 4 nights. She is a great host and we felt like home. The rooms are clean and comfortable and she does everything to make your stay as perfect as possible! She offers a variety of food for breakfast and gave us snorkeling gear for free. 100% recommended! The best place we've stayed so far!

we had heard and read so many good things about zingara, our expectations were high. the well-appointed and super clean accommodations located on a lush, forested hill overlooking sapzurro and it's picturesque bay were even better than the descriptions. clemencia, the owner and host is one-half caring mom and the other half concierge helping you make the most of your time in this sublime paradise. the comfortable beds have mosquito nets and mosquito coils are also provided. when clemencia found out what types of food we liked, she booked dinner for us at the best restaurants in town. she also lent us masks and snorkels and helped us find the best snorkeling cove and also directed us where we could rent kayaks. zingara is located right next to the path that leads over the hill to panama, so for our visit to playa la miel, she arranged a seafood lunch for us from a panamian cook when we arrived. her beautifully designed, well-constructed wood hospedaje is surrounded by lush tropical growth common to the darien gap area. clemencia is literally a mother to the nearby creatures that share the land, feeding the geckos, birds and crabs each morning. you will be taken good care of at zingara and wish you could stay longer. we definitely plan to return.
