My two-night, off season stay could not have been better. Katrin and Christoph had planned their own down time but opened up just to accommodate this single customer. Their generosity did not end there -their tourist suggestions, excellent breakfasts and entertaining conversations were in perfect harmony with their immaculate establishment.
Highest recommendation.
It even turned out that Christoph and sons are curlers coming to compete in Canada.
In winter.

Without question, our stay with Chris and Katrin was the BEST during our recent vacation to Switzerland, Bavaria and Northern Italy! The talents of Chris as a finish carpenter and Katrin as the chef truly shine. They are the most friendly, most accommodating hosts that you could imagine, and their suggestions for dinner and adventures in the local area really enhanced our experience. The entire place is truly immaculate, and we were very satisfied with our room, which included a large balcony to admire the entire Alps range! The breakfast was delicious & filling, and the provision of the Mammut backpack for storing my wife's camera gear and lunch was a nice touch. Alphotel Eiger has many benefits of a small hotel, but it really felt like we were visiting close friends during our stay. We wholeheartedly recommend the Alphotel Eiger to anyone who is visiting the area, and we can't wait until we can return again!

As we started to leave, my wife asked if we were going to say good bye to our hosts, Christoph and Katrin. After three visits to Alphotel Eiger, we felt as if they were family, and of course we returned to say our goodbyes and to remind them once again what a marvelous time we had. It was just over a year ago we first stayed with them and now after our third visit, the WOW factor remains as strong as ever. Each time we went out or returned to the hotel, it seemed as if either Christoph or Katrin were there to welcome us back and inquire as to our day or what our plans for the day were. When we needed advice on what to do or where to go, they were always ready with great advice and maps. And of course the hotel was always clean and perfectly maintained, the breakfasts and our hosts' attentiveness during the meal was always exceptional, and the hotel's location with its travel book picture views of the high mountains and beautiful Lake Thun was exquisite. We have traveled extensively, but nowhere have we found such a combination of hospitality and friendship as exists at Alphotel Eiger. While it is a bit off the beaten path, the easy drive up the mountain with its often magnificent views of Lake Thun only adds to the unique experience. If visiting the Bernese Oberland, you would be well served to resist the temptation of staying in Interlaken but to head for sunny Beatenberg hillside. The serenity, scenery, and fresh air are a great tradeoff to the touristy shops and bustle of the city which is only about ten minutes down the hill should the need arise. A few basics: credit cards are accepted, there are pleasant places to dine on the mountain, parking is available directly in front of the hotel, and the guests you meet while there are all delightful people with whom you develop a relationship and swap stories, it's just that kind of place where everyone there becomes your friend.

We stayed here for three nights. Clean and nice room with a beautiful view over the mouintains and lake.
Nice breakfast in the morning with different local cheeses, new baked bread, fresh fruit, eggs etc.
We went tracking for two days. One day in the local area - Niederhorn. Beautiful tracking area with not many turists.
Easy with the bus system to take the bus in to Interlaken or the village Beatenberg.
The owners of the B&B were so friendly and helpful with everything. Really did the extra.
Highly recommend you to stay here instead of busy and touristic Interlaken.

My wife and I have stayed in B&Bs all over Europe and Alphotel Eiger is the best. The food is great, views are fantastic and the company is pleasant. Christoph and Katrin go out of their way to help and make sure you have a good time. We have stayed multiple times and it had always been top-notch.

Stayed at Alphotel Eiger for 1 night with my family (4 adults). Staying at Alphotel Eiger was wonderful because of the great hosts Christoph and his wife Katrin. They made my family feel welcome and Christoph was excellent in providing information about what we could do in Beatenberg.
The rooms were beautiful, clean and stylish. We loved the balcony area where we could enjoy the grand view of the mountains, lake and forests.
The breakfast spread was lovely, with different kinds of cheese and fresh bread. We were impressed by Christoph's generous hospitality. He was always smiling, and came to our table a few times to check if we needed anything.
We wish we could have stayed longer at Alphotel Eiger. Would love to return there again!

I stayed at the Alphotel Eiger for four nights and I would definitely recommend it.

The hotel is very clean and modern inside, still in keeping with tradition. The area is so beautiful and peaceful with breathtaking views across Lake Thun. The breakfast is great.

What makes the hotel so special are the lovely owners who are always there to help and accommodate your needs.

Thank you for a fantastic stay Katrin and Chris!

After staying that this wonderful B&B five times I wish I could give it more than five stars. The hosts are fantastic, the rooms are comfortable and well appointed, the breakfast is top notch and the views are spectacular. Their wine selection is always a bonus when my wife and I stay. We enjoy the great activities around Beatenberg and Interlaken, and returning to a great fire and comfortable "home" is the best part of any day. If you are in the area there is no better place to stay.

.On our third trip to Switzerland we discovered this gem, the best Swiss accomodation we have had. The Hosts were amazing, giving us directions, tourist tips, putting on our snow chains (as totaly inexperienced South Africans we were hopeless), they even assisted us with snow clothes, as buying snow gear for a 14month old in South Africa in the heart of summer is impossible.
The rooms were great, the breakfast was awesome, everything was clean yet it maintained that cozy swiss warmth one looks for. The views were outstanding, you look out over Lake Thun and are surrounded by Alps.
The location is so central, close to a great many swiss attractions, yet somehow you feel as if you are tucked away in some tiny little swiss village. Its ideal.
Our family spends many moments longing to return. If you are visiting Switzerland make this stop number one on your list.
