Thé location is superb in the center of ADELBODEN, you don’t need a car everything is around.

The view from our 2 rooms was outstanding❤️.
Top notch service by a knowledgeable, professional and very friendly team at the check in, at the breakfast, at the bar and at the dinner.
The food is excellent with fresh, tasty and local products.

We enjoyed 2 nights in this hotel, which I am rating 5 stars, though not perfect ( for the area probably one of the best hotels).
Best things about this hotel:
1. The food!! Glorious food from the new chef, all I can say is everything is so delicious, he puts so much passion in his cooking, I recommend every dish. Do not do the mistake to eat somewhere else, the chef here is outstanding! He definitely is worth 5 stars rating. Try the beautiful menu in The Axe bar, the thai inspired sweet potato soup with tiger prawns is so amazing!! Also the views are breathtaking.
2. The staff- everyone is very nice, especially at the bar service. Really nice people and so helpful and always with a smile.
3. Safety measures - every table at the buffet breakfast will be sanitized and people receive a complimentary mask for when they go to the buffet. You need to reserve a table, which is not too bad as it is not crowded. Also, one morning our kids where too early risers so we were able to change the breakfast reservation for earlier. 9 am seems to be very popular time! In the spa and swimming area you can go only with a reservation.
Everything very clean, i saw the cleaning team in action on our floor, second floor, and the supervisor seems so good in coordinating everyone, and he had so much energy, well done for employing great people.
4. The views are indeed amazing, we had a room with a beautiful view!

On things to improve I would say that the bath towels are really a letdown, very thin and small. Also for the breakfast i would suggest a bigger choice of egg dishes(they only have scrambled eggs and boiled eggs). On the check in we felt a little bit weird, as the first impression was a bit unwelcoming (a bit of a forced smile, a feeling of a crisis; I think the corona related rules could be explained in a more relaxed way because we are on holiday and even if things are not great in these times we still want to relax, that is the whole point of coming on holiday and not being holed up at home). However the hotel staff made up for it later and the feeling of a crisis was better managed by the restaurant and bar staff. If these things would improve, this hotel would be perfect.
But We definitely want to return here, next time for a week!

It was an absolutely beautiful hotel, perfect location, a good spa and very helpful/always-smiling staff.

The hotel is just opposite to the Adelboden main bus stop, and just 5 minutes of walking away to 2 cable car stops that takes you to beautiful hiking routes around the valley. The views from the “panorama view” rooms and the lounge are absolutely amazing. It’s really nice waking up to this amazing view, totally worth to pay a bit more for this (compared to having a view to the car park). Our room was bigger than we expected, and minibar+snacks was included in the price of the room, which was a plus (having a small bottle of sparkling wine or beer every evening after a hike, without paying extra).

The spa is good, with sauna, steam room, big indoor and a small outdoor (infinity) pool. During this corona times, we needed to book early for visit to spa as they were limiting number of people at a time. It was perfect, as the facilities were not crowded, particularly, the time at infinity pool was relaxing as there was not many people (like some other older reviews mentioned). We had booked for a massage, and it was very good as well, a bit different experience than we had before, as the music they played was slow country music, rather than eastern instrumental, which turned out to be a new/interesting while, still relaxing.

In typically Swiss way, the prices are on the expensive side, however, we got better deal (less price and 10% off on massages) booking directly through the hotel vs the prices shown on TripAdvisor/Booking.com. If you just want a room with a view, you will find other cheaper options around, however, would recommend The Cambrian if you are looking to pamper yourself with a bit of luxury.

Location was ideal, the hotel was very modern and the decor rustic chalet chic, bedroom was large and bed huge and comfy. kettle, coffee and a fridge (very rare in switzerland) the pool and spa area were great. yes the outdoor "infinity" pool was small -the indoor pool is much better, cooler and larger (forget the insta shot) and the sauna area very nice if you can overlook your shyness (no swim suits) Restaurant Gwyn Williams lived up to it's expectations. The food was exceptional and not at all small portions like others have described. The yuzu sorbet is almost better than the one you find in Japan. Breakfast was good too.
Staff were friendly but they should definately ensure the pool area is monitored as it was overcrowded. Kudos to your spa area cleaner he was the most strict about the distance spacing - you should commend him, he was doing a better job than the others.

We recently stayed 5 nights using Marriott points. Let me get out of the way that I am a Bonvoy Titanium Elite. Beware if you have elite status and book using points, you do not get get any of your usual benefits because the hotel is only affiliated with Marriott Bonvoy, not owned by Marriott. We were not thrilled to be charged 30 CHF pp for breakfast each morning for an average breakfast buffet but it was convenient and there were not a lot of other options around town since we stayed during the shoulder season.

We found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. Specifically, Frederik at the front desk helped with dinner reservations and multiple other details that made our stay special. Another stand out was the tall gentleman with the beard at the bar (sorry I don’t remember his name) who not only made outstanding drinks but was over-the-top friendly and helpful on more than one occasion.

The hotel charges 18 CHF per day for parking which I felt was reasonable since a valet parks and retrieves your vehicle as needed. The morning we departed, he even scraped the snow and ice off the windows before we started our slow, careful descent down the mountain.

Our room was very comfortable perhaps the pillows being the only exception. We enjoyed the ‘just right’ mattress and good quality linens and towels, nice walk-in shower, Nespresso machine, balcony and daily water provided.

We enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool. Outdoor swimming with a winter mountain backdrop and a Prosecco in hand was something we’ve never experienced and found very exhilarating.

The Cambrian is within walking distance of town and driving distance to several day trips. During our stay we drove to Unterdembirg waterfall, Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald.

As experienced travels, we enjoyed The Cambrian very much and would return but have experienced better in similar settings. That is why I give them 4 stars, not 5.

My partner and i were given the most wonderful warm welcome as we entered the hotel,
Front desk receptionist explained everything to us in detail about the hotel facilities and escorted us to our room.
The room has a warm and cozy contemporary style
and breathtaking view from the balcony.
Breakfast is delightful and has a a good variety of options to choose from,
The waitresses are very friendly, we were served with a smile and care.
Room service and housekeeping is great.
The spa area is incredible and spotless, the outdoor pool have one of the most picturesque views of the valley,
maybe because its a winter time or maybe because of the timing
but we got really lucky to be completely alone in a pool for two days in a row. Unforgettable experience.
Wonderful hotel.

Not my first time here but still stunned every time I walk out the terrace to enjoy this magnificent view! Another highlight for me is the amazing breakfast buffet and the friendly staff. Went for a hiking weekend with friends and we had a great relaxing time here. Perfect for a short getaway, especially during this time.

PS. Due to COVID-19 we had to book time slots for breakfast and SPA, to ensure everyone can enjoy their holiday and stay safe at the same time. Actually, really nice to have a bit more privacy in the SPA with less people around :-)

Generally, guests are not required to wear a mask, except they provide you one for breakfast when going to the buffet. All staff was however wearing them while interacting with guests or serving food and drinks.

Two of my girl friends and I just finished our trip to Switzerland and we cannot describe how amazing this hotel was and how attentive the staffs were during this pandemic.

We stayed there last weekend just for one night on the way to Interlaken but we wished that we stayed there longer. This hotel was just sooo beautiful in every aspects, the view of the Alps was magnificent and every little details in the room & the public area just made us awwww the whole time.
The best part was (obviously) the infinity pool which has even greater view of the Alps. Any pictures taken there just turned into a postcard.
I know there are some hotels in the Alps where they have infinity pools and charge ridiculous amount of money for it but the Cambrian was really reasonable, was truly bang for the buck but still so luxurious.

Hotel manager, Daniela, and her team provided exceptional service and safety condition during this pandemic. The Cambrian has managed to have just enough staff so that we feel taken care in a timely and responsive manner. We really loved the attentiveness of the staff.

The F&B standards are outstanding. The food quality is extraordinarily high and the service was impeccable. The breakfast buffet was one of the best breakfast I had especially with the view of the Alps.

One of the best perks to stay in this hotel was free cable car ticket (25 francs per person) to top of the mountain to ride a giant swing.
Giant swing truly made my Swiss experience so memorable and fun!

Overall, I would give 5 / 5 stars to the Cambrian and will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit the Switzerland.
I will definitely come back again in the winter!
Thank you for the amazing stay, Cambrian!

But, PLEASE, make sure you book a room facing the mountains and not the car
park !

At this price range, we expected more from The Cambrian.

Our room (Deluxe), was very basic in decor and amenities, for instance, no espresso machine, just a kettle and instant coffee provided.

The bathroom was even more disappointing. Poorly designed shower meant a soaked floor outside.
Bath towels so small, maybe intended for children, and of poor quality, so thin, which made it impossible to use them a second time.

The so famed pool is minuscule and gets easily crowded.

Staff at breakfast more worried about cleaning up, although still an hour before closing time.
We felt uncomfortable.

Certainly room for improvement at The Cambrian.

Located very centrally, old building but completely renovated and the whole hotel is very modern and stylish. Very nice lounge and bar area with great views. The spa and pool area is very nice and well done. The rooms as well are very nice, modern design and very functional. I recommend to choose a room with mountain view, the view is really great.

The restaurant offers an excellent breakfast buffet with a extensive choice and very good quality. In particular they have phantastic bread. Large variety of fresh fruit. Also lunch and dinner is very good, excellent quality . Good wine list.

All staff members are very friendly and nice, they make you feel comfortable. The service is not perfect (sometimes you need to actively ask for something), but for a four star hotel it is still very good and their friendliness is most important.

Well handled was also the Corona situation, well organized- guests felt very safe.

Overall a great choice in they Bernese alps! I can highly recommend and will definitely return!

PS one negative point: the jacuzzi has great views and too many people want to take selfies, which is annoying. But the hotel clearly indicates times for selfies, so it is not their fault.
