We stayed at Park Hotel Vitznau for 2 nights on a recent trip through Loire Valley, Bordeaux and Barcelona. It is hard to find words to describe this lake retreat. The team members go out of their way to help make one's stay uniquely memorable. They organized us a trip up to Mount Rigi with luncheon and made reservations in a local restaurant for a typical Swiss Meal. We cancelled said meal after having had dinner on Park Hotel's lake terrace - we HAD TO come back the next night also the food and service was so good. Thorsten our sommelier was amazing. We had the opportunity to visit their several wine cellars featuring an unbelievable amount of verticals of wines too rare to talk about. Incredible. Our room was well appointed with a digital shower featuring the largest rain shower head I've seen. That thing must have had a radius of 2 feet. No expense seems to have been spared when they renovated the property. Lucerne is a 20 to 30 minute drive away yet once you arrive at the hotel there's really no good reason to leave for anything else than a hike or a run before settling back into SPA or pool area. Took a quick dip in the uber-clean lake which was still rather on the fresh side yet nevertheless a great option. I've stayed in many great luxury hotels around the world (boy this sounds snobby yet I mean it in the humblest of ways) and Park Hotel Vitznau easily outcompetes most of them. We spent 3 nights at the Park Hotel Vitznau, shortly after the reopening after the Covid 19 lockdown. When booking we had indicated our wish for the junior suite lakeview "Sharpe" and got this room. This is one of the few hotels where you can specify a specific room request and then get exactly this room. I find the "Sharpe" junior suite one of the most beautiful rooms of the hotel with a great loggia and wide windows overlooking the lake. But those who like to sit on a wide balcony should book another room. The hotel was in post-lockdown mode with reduced operation. Some restaurants were still closed and the menu was reduced and the operation was running with a reduced service crew. This was noticed at breakfast, here the processes were not running smoothly and on all 3 days orders were forgotten. In return we got a great offer 3 for 2 nights. We will definitely come back. For us the Parkhotel Vitznau is one of the most beautiful hotels in Switzerland.

We stayed at the hotel at the end of June for 2 nights as a family. 2 adults with 1 kid (3 years old). We have many good comments about the hotel but also a few improvement areas to mention.
1. The check-in service was very smooth and we were amazed by our room Sharp when we walked into it. Although I have seen pictures from the website, but when you see it in person, you will still be amazed by the view and beauty of the room and furniture.
2. The pool area are so great and you could spend the whole day there without getting tired of the view. Which I really see that it makes a total difference to visit during Summer, as the experience of laying down by the pool and lake was so great. And I can feel it will be a little pity during winter time.
3. The Breakfast. And now come to my favourite part of the stay. The breakfast by the lake on the terrace. Not only the atmosphere, but the quality of the breakfast is the TOP. Majority of the selection are from the a la carte menu, and somefrom the mini buffet areas. We tried different dishes for the 2 mornings, both the taste and the presentation are amazing! And i have to say, even the breakfast deserves a Michelin star.
4. At dinner, we tried both restaurants: Focus and Prisma. And I have to say I personally prefer Prisma better for the following reason: Prisma has more choices which allow you to select 2 -5 courses. But at Focus only have 2 choice, either the full menu or the reduced menu.
The service we receivede at Prisma also better at the Focus. One of the clear improvement at the Focus is on their adaptability on the speed. We started at around 7:30and finished the dinner at almost 11:30 And during this time, we have raised our request to speed up the following courses as we have a kid need to put to bed. But unfortunately the speed was still slow. (To put things into comparison, we have dined in a Michelin 3 star restaurant in Switzerland, and with the mention of the time we need to finish the dinner, they manage to let us finish all the courses in 2.5 hours.
5. On the kids side. when we booked the hotel, we know clearly the hotel would not have playground for kids or special kids program. But still we think there are some effort can be made better for kids. (For example slippers and bathrobe for kids are not provided)
6. Final thing. Although we love our junior suite so much, but there are some issue with the curtain in our room. Room Sharp does not have curtain that hide the lights at the night. So even if you put the shades down (from outside the window) there are still a lot of lights coming in in the early morning. We stayed in a suite overlooking the lake. Well worth the additional price and the views are just stunning. We stayed three nights and the weather was perfect. We enjoyed the private spa area and the food was also very good. All facilities are top, as one would expect, and we could not have asked for anything different relative to the room, the service or the food. It is very peaceful and a perfect location to simply relax, and they do have some outdoor lake activities one can enjoy as well. A hotel visit we will never forget as it is at the very top of our list now. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

Had an incredible experience at the Park Hotel Vitznau
Room: we had a residence suite which had multiple rooms and an expansive terrace off of each room. Probably one of my favorite suites of all time as it overlooked the lake and mountains in the distance.
Food: loved the food at the grill as well as the room service. Didn’t have the greatest meal at FOCUS but we also aren’t huge into the molecular gastronomy scene so that’s probably on us.
Service: staff were incredible all around. It’s such a small hotel that it’s nice that everyone seems to know you which makes for a seamless experience. Everyone was professional and friendly.
We rented a boat to picnic and show us around lake Lucerne which was incredible and highly recommended. The hotel also arranged a car into Lucerne so we could do some shopping which was seamless. The location in general is just wonderful.
We had a bit of a hiccup on the last day and were pretty upset about it. Without going into much detail we were planning on never coming back despite the rest of the experience being so good. After hearing about the issue the management actually invited us back for a complementary stay which blew our minds. I’m not sure when/if we’ll take them on it but it does show a level of commitment to their service/standards that we couldn’t believe.

What an amazing location! The staff, the food, the views, the rooms, all of it!!! Was quieter being late Sep, which I loved! Had one warm day, then a cloudy/rainy day and then a sunny day when I left. Really lovely. And on the first night turndown service they left a La Prairie product 😍 I stayed in the lake view jr. suite Le Temps stunning balcony views. The pool is super amazing too. The various restaurant staff were all so delightful and helpful. I’m a well seasoned traveler and I seriously cannot wait to go back!

This was our 3rd stay at PHV and it never disappoints. Due to Covid we spent a 7 days at the hotel as we didn’t want to stay on different places during our vacation. The PHV was perfect for this extended stay. With hiking nearby (or a short ferry ride), driving the Alpine passes South of the hotel or simply relaxing by the lake we never got board and could just relax.
The hotel achieves this perfect balance of class and comfort. Elegance abounds, but its wrapped in this casual atmosphere that you never feel like you need to be uptight.
Covid protocols were in full force with staff always wearing a mask and areas like the gym to be used with reservation only.
My only recommendation is that the hotel should look at making the whole property non-smoking except in designated areas. On a couple occasions we had to close our balcony doors as people in the pool area or in adjacent decks were smoking.
Already looking forward to a return visit next year

All in all a wonderful experience. The breakfast right at the lakefront, good quality, beautifully served, the view, one of the best we ever had. The pool, the spa, very very good. Why then 3/5? We arrived early and had to wait for the room to be ready. No visible effort was made to accelerate our room preparation, and in the end we waited 2,5 hours and entered our room only 15 minutes before the stated check-in time! During all this time we were not offered a single glass of water. At this level this is beyond comprehension, especially since apart from this unfortunate beginning the service was excellent.

I am very sorry to hear, that your were not happy with our check-in time and the handeling of the waiting time. For early arrivals we do offer the use of your SPA (with complimentary drinks) or to enjoy a wonderful lunch or drinks on our beautiful terrace or in our Lounge-Lobby-Area (at normal cost). Due to the fact that we have 8 different categories and 47 individually decorated suites we can not easely change the room for guest, who want to check-In prior to the regular time - which is 15.00h. In this year of a pandemie we do have to pay even more attention than usual to desinfect the rooms for new arrivals - and this takes time. in this difficult times of travelling we returned to vitznau with a lot of pleasure. beginning with the warm welcome by everybody and the excellent service you feel very comfortable. the suites are fantastic and we just love to stay on the beautiful grounds and enjoy the view from the outdoor swimming pool with the girls.

We stayed at the hotel in May so can’t really answer this one except to say that the region will be prone to snowfall at that time of year. The hotel is siituated on a busy main road so I would assume snowploughs and gritters will be kept busy..
If I was you I would contact the hotel direct and ask them for advice
