You think it is in the middle of nowhere, but it is actually close to great bike tours (do not know about hiking, I am not a fan, so haven't tried), options for swimming in the lake (s), or sightseeing. The surrounding is fantastic. On a rainy day, you can enjoy the gym, the great wellness area or the treatments. The bad side - (too) many others have the same ideas both on sunny and on rainy days. It is quiet, I guess it is not allowed for children, because there were none, but not sure, you need to double check the hotel's policy. Stylish, clean , only the bathroom/toilet in the room is separated with partially mat glass door only; for me not enough privacy. Great breakfast incl. fresh juices and bobbles. For dinner, not always successful fusions, but ambitious, and with options and good wine selection. A lounge with great cocktails and cool background music. Staff somewhat fake polite. Terrible internet - you cannot even download your newspaper in the breakfast room - if that is important to you like it is to me, it can really spoil otherwise great stay.

We had a lovely time. The view was amazing, Frühstück fresh and abundant, diner was also incredible of taste and really well prepared. Staff is really helpful and friendly. We had a lovely time in the restaurant with Moni and Zhelyazko, both so friendly and they gave great service. The saunas and steamrooms are perfect, they smell delicious. Also the aufguss was funny and really good, again the staff was incredible friendly. The rooms were clean and everything worked fine. We came for relaxation and the hotel delivered!
Downside:
Some things could have been explained a little bit better upon arrival. Our German isn’t really good, so we missed some vital information
All television is in German, you can not change the language to English. For a hotel like this you’d expect that would be a possibility.
For the pool you need swimwear, that was not clear when booking. Luckily we had swimwear with us.
My husband had to buy bath slippers because the hotel only offers it when your feet are no bigger than size 41.
The bar serves cocktails that are so full with ice you can’t even stir them. If you don’t drink it within 5 minutes all you taste is water. When we told the bartender he laughed and told us that is how cocktails are made. We didn’t order anymore.
The singer in the bar was not good. A lot of people in the bar were wondering if it was a joke. The pianist was much better.
In the bathroom when you sit on the toilet your face is at the same hight of your partner’s bum. You cannot use the bathroom when someone is on the toilet at all. Also the door doesn’t close because it’s a sliding door, making going to the toilet (nr2) a bit awkward at times.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. I wish we could have stayed longer! All of the staff we encountered were very polite and helpful. We arrived early and our bags were held until our room was ready. We borrowed bikes from the hotel and rode over to the main part of town for a tour of Neuschwanstein Castle. Rooms were impeccably clean and all amenities that we needed were available. A five course dinner was included and this was very good, but this did take several hours. We enjoyed music and a drink in the lounge after dinner. The breakfast was outstanding! And of course, the spa and pool areas were incredible. There are multiple co-ed saunas, steam rooms, showers, and relaxation areas as well. We enjoyed a beautiful view of the mountains while soaking in the pool. I appreciated that we were able to use the pool/spa beyond our checkout time (as our train did not depart until later), but would have benefited from a better locker room. Overall we had an excellent stay and have no complaints! While staying here you truly do feel like a King!

You may love this place, as lots of locals do, so I don't want to put those off who want a very German experience in a resort with some of the largest selections of pools outside of the Madison Dell area. We're a couple who like privacy and culture and good food ( doesn't have to be too complicated) and were a bit disappointed with the cost-hotel room quality. The rooms are simple, as of course most people are outside biking or swimming or visiting local attractions. Pillows were like cement. But as I said, many may like it. Staff were certainly nice.

During my recent stay at this hotel, I had a mixed experience. While there are many positive aspects, there were also some drawbacks that made my stay less enjoyable. Wellness: The wellness facilities are excellent. The saunas, steam baths, and massages offer a perfect way to relax and unwind. Everything is clean and well-maintained. Indoor pool is great a nice to be in due to the heated water. Outdoor Pools in good weather: The outdoor pools are beautiful and well-maintained. On sunny days, it’s wonderful to relax and swim here. There are plenty of lounge chairs and the view is fantastic. Peacefulness: The hotel is an oasis of tranquility. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, making it ideal for a relaxing stay away from the hustle of everyday life. Beautiful contemporary reception: The reception is modern and stylishly decorated. It gives a good first impression and the design is very inviting. Friendly and professional staff: The staff is extremely friendly and professional. They do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible and are always willing to help. Spacious room: The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is plenty of space to move around freely and the decor is "modern" and functional. The beds are comfortable but pillow is too soft: The pillows are too soft and affect sleeping posture, which impacted the quality of sleep. The bathroom is well-equipped. Coffee and tea facilities are present and are replenished every day.
Dinner with Half Board: Unfortunately, the dinner with half board was (very) disappointing. The five-course dinners were absolutely not to my taste. The chef attempts a type of fusion cuisine with unsuccessful flavor combinations. Even renowned chefs don't dare to combine fish and fruit, yet this chef did.
The chef tries to be special but unfortunately doesn't succeed. He/she is still experimenting, which resulted in several evenings where I left the table hungry.
No Air Conditioning in our room: during warm days, the room gets quite hot because there is no air conditioning. If you open the windows at night, you become the buffet for mosquitoes.
Good Location for outings when bad weather: This is not a negative point, I want to mention that the hotel is well-located for outings during less favorable weather.
There are several interesting destinations nearby that are easily accessible.
Overall, this hotel offers great wellness facilities, a beautiful environment, and friendly staff, but the dinner with half board, the lack of air conditioning, and the soft pillows are important areas for improvement.

A wonderful luxury hotel that was spacious, safe and comfortable with during the pandemic. Service throughout the hotel and wellbeing was great and the food just sensational. The buffet breakfast had the most extensive options and the evening meal a delicious five course menu with separate cheese board in the Bar. The evening meal really was high quality dining.

Excellent service, beautiful facilities. Whole in there got to know they train students (azubies?) , our waiters mostly all young students all super kind and willing to help, they spoke perfect english, what a treat! Spa and wellness areas were neat and clean, the room clean and comfortable, the breakfast and dinner plenty and delicious. Will come back.

I arrived in to a very warm welcome in the Lobby. I was then taken to one side for an explanation of how the hotel works. During this I was given a chilled glass of 'bubbly'. Explanations over I was escorted to my room, a super suite looking out over a grassy meadow. I chose to have dinner early and it was superb - Michelin Star quality - with excellent table service. Breakfast did not disappoint with a magnificent spread, along with the possibility to order from a short menu. Do go and immerse yourself in the comfort and luxury of this hotel.

Overall nice hotel. Decently pretty and wonderful, everything from amenities to service is also tip-top. I like the surrounding parts a lot, you feel kind of enclosed in a good way yet still free. I will probably be back many times in the coming years.

DKL is a very nice Hotel with outstanding facilities! The pools are great and all the facilities are modern and clean. We had the breakfast and dinner included and the food was superb as well as the service. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was ok but you could see it was a bit older. We needed a topper for the bed as it was very firm the first night. With the topper, it was comfortable. We had a small living room as well which was ok but the furniture was a bit old fashioned but still comfortable. The TV is mounted a bit high on the wall for me. You must look up to watch. My biggest minus for DKL as an American was the lack of any TV channels in English, not even one! This should be corrected. However, we enjoyed our 3 night stay very much and wold return in the future!

yes there ist a public transport. There exist a bus transport direct in front of the town hall. You can reach the town hall by foot in 15 min. I hope that I could helped you.
