We spent a week at Gästehaus Stefanie. This place is in a small (very quiet) village called Brunnen about 1 km from the main town of Schwanngau which is on the banks of the Foggensee. The village has a very rural feel surrounded by fields, diary cows etc and some good restaurants. It is a typical German hotel in a lovely Bavarian style house. The rooms are very clean neat and simple. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is an excellent breakfast - again very traditional German style.

We booked here our first night doing the reverse direction of the Romantic Road. The facility is lovely and quaint, the rooms are clean and well kept, with a very cottage type feel. We were checked in by one of the owners who gave us a quick 5 min tour and rundown of the place, there have a honesty fridge available for wine and beer, which is nice. The breakfast is great and definitely worthwhile to stay. The hotel is located in a slightly confusing area so my best advice is to locate it during the day when there is light because there are NO street lights in the evening.

We stayed here for a week and had a great time. We were given a huge apartment with all amenities and large balcony. The village was silent in the evenings and a 30 second walk to the lake for an evening swim. Internet available free of charge. The only small negative is it would have been helpful to have a small supply of washing liquid salt pepper etc to save buying them all for a weeks stay. Washing machine available which was a great help. Very reasonable rates and would stay here again.
