This was our first time visiting Fussen and we came across this hotel because of the great reviews. Overall we had a great stay, but it was not flawless and I do not think I would stay again.
Fantastic location with unobstructed view of the castles. We stayed in a junior suite, which was very spacious and had a good layout. Unfortunately the balcony is so tiny, that you cannot sit out there with your significant other to take in the view.
The wellness and spa area is well appointed and offers a lot of different saunas, etc. The visit at their beauty spa was amazing and the staff made us feel so special and pampered us. Especially Ms. Mariana and Mr. Rainer were fantastic. The jacuzzi was unfortunately barely lukewarm.
The restaurant was very good, breakfast had a lot of different options and I liked that you could order egg dishes and pancakes.
Dinner was outstanding every night, the waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating. Mr. Denis was very professional and suggested great wine pairings.
Highlight of our trip was a hike to the mountain cottage owned by the hotel. It was a strenuous hike, but the views made it worth it. The food was great and the staff was fun.

The reason I only give 4 stars is that I felt nickel and dimed constantly. The hotel is very expensive compared to others in the area. I expected a certain level of exclusivity.
We booked a package including breakfast, light lunch, dinner, and spa treatments.
In the afternoon they serve cake, but you pay extra for basic coffee drinks.
Tap water at dinner is charged separately.
If you want additional Nespresso coffee pods for your coffee maker in the room, you pay extra.
They charge per person, not per room, but if only one person stays in the room….surprise….they charge extra. So what is the point of charging per person if a single person pays the same as a couple?
We felt they would nickel and dome constantly over minor things that I believe should be included at a hotel of this caliber and price point.

We enjoyed our stay because of the beautiful location and friendly staff at the beauty spa and restaurant, but I didn’t feel the value for money.

The Hotel is on the right place with a beautifull view. Rooms are very nice 7 clean, staff in the reastaurant & Bar very friendly, reallyvery nice people! The food leaves nothing to be desired.
One smaal remark: by all the luxury and for the price of the room, FREE coffee in the room is a must. The rooms are equipped with Nespresso machines but unfortunately you have to pay 80,00 ct/cup. It is not about the money!

If you're going to this hotel for an incredible view you will get it. But honestly I don't think the view made it worth it. We felt like this hotel was a big splurge for us on our trip and then we felt we kept being charged for things that should have been included. They offered cake mid day and we thought that was so special, until we realized we were being charged to drink water with that cake. We had to also pay for our water and wine at dinner. I have never been to a hotel like this where we had prepaid for dinner and had to pay for water and wine. It put a little damper on things and was disappointing considering how much we put out to stay here. There is also only one outdoor hot tub and it is quite small. We wished they would have either had more, or had some sort of sign up or time limit on the one they did have, as we never got access to it during our stay. Overall the staff were all very very kind.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're glad you appreciated the nice views from our hotel. We understand your concerns about the additional charges for water and wine during dinner. It's essential to note that we do not offer an all-inclusive package, and in Germany/Europe, it is quite common for served water to have a separate charge. You booked our "special halfboard" which includes a large variety of food, drinks are in separate charge. We appreciate your understanding and will take your comments into consideration to provide better clarity about our offerings in the future. Our goal is always to ensure a pleasant and transparent experience for all our guests. Thank you for your kind words about our staff. We're happy to hear they provided excellent service during your stay. If you choose to visit us again, we'll do our best to make your stay even more enjoyable. Thank you for your valuable feedback, and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future. Your Thurm family & the Rübezahl crew

Excellent location with rooms that offer a view of the Neuschwanstein castle (worth the extra few Euro surcharge). The hotel has an excellent location within walking or biking distance from the castles as well as the quaint town of Füssen. Castle viewing, swimming in the crystal clear Alpine lakes, hiking or biking (bikes available for free at the hotel) with a good hotel restaurant and excellent staff made the stay unforgettable.

We are staying in this hotel for Christmas holidays for many years now and it never fails to impress us with outstanding service quality and ever updated interior design. Through the years the hotel has been rebuilt and redesigned a few times, always for the better, the rooms are spacious and modern.

The staff is very friendly and responsive to any wishes you might have. They speak countless languages, from German to Russian, which eases the communication a lot.

The restaurant now has a Michelin star and provides very sophisticated selection of dishes for anyone’s taste. And it still remains a great place to host a simple family dinner or a child’s birthday party.

But the most impressive attraction of the hotel is without a shadow of a doubt the unobstructed view of the Neuschwanstein castle. It is truly an indescribable experience to wake up and witness its towers grazed by the first rays of the morning sun. You just have to see it for yourself.

If you are looking for a holiday retreat for a family or a great way to spend your honeymoon, there is no better place than the Ruebezahl.

My wife and I along with another couple came to stay at your hotel for two nights while visiting other places. WOW! If we had known how nice Hotel Das Ruebezahl was, we would have increased our stay and cut short other places. Everything was perfect.

First, the view. Spending time outside reading a book, in the pool or hot tub, having breakfast or lunch, or even talking with friends in the evening at the fire pit all the while looking at the mountains and castles is magical.

Second, the saunas, steam rooms, and quiet rooms are unreal. Moving between the steam rooms, saunas, and whirlpool makes one feel like a limp noodle. After that, move over to the quiet room and take a nap on the heated waterbed. Or, go sit outside and listen to the water fall. I think my blood pressure went down because I was so relaxed.

The breakfast was outstanding. Think of so many types of cheeses, meats, and bread that you will pop a gut if you tried to taste just one of everything. They even had 3 types of honey to use if you wanted.

Dinner at the hotel isn't just for the guests. We noticed several non-guests, probably locals, eating at the restaurant. If was so good that you had to have reservations. All the tables were full.

The staff were awesome. From the moment we checked in to when we had to leave, everyone was nice. Shout out to the bartender who made one of the prettiest Gin & Tonics I have ever soon. It honestly looked like it should have been in a photo shoot.

Hotel Das Rübezahl was the finest hotel I have ever stayed at in Bavaria and probably in all of Germany.

We were at the Hotel Rübezahl last weekend. We had booked the AlpenTraum room and the pampering board. From booking to departure, simply top class and in a category of its own. Definitely 5 stars plus! I have been taking wellness holidays across Germany for over 20 years and can say that everything here is really perfect. The location of the hotel is uniquely beautiful, the reception is super friendly and you feel absolutely welcome. From the car park to the balcony, it is sparkling clean and very, very beautifully and lovingly decorated. All the employees are super friendly, polite and always accommodating. Here, your every wish is anticipated and perfectly implemented. The rooms are very, very beautifully furnished, very high quality and with a lot of attention to detail. The food, whether in the morning, at lunchtime, in the afternoon or in the evening, is a dream and always delicious. The spa area leaves nothing to be desired and is top class in every respect. We have found our dream hotel and will definitely relax there more often. Many thanks again to the entire hotel team for the excellent service and the wonderful time we had with you.

The hotel "Das Rübezahl" is a hotel furnished with great attention to detail. The staff is very service-oriented and courteous. The selection and quality of the breakfast buffet is overwhelming. The view of Neuschwanstein Castle from the hotel and the dining room in the winter garden is unique. The hike with Basti in a small group of 3 couples was very entertaining. Basti can tell you a lot about the mountains and fauna.

Completely excessive pricing, with very poor details.

Although a dog opposite our room barked loudly every day (left alone) and disturbed our stay for 5 days, the management did not want to offer a solution for a comparable, quieter room (statement: there are no free rooms, but at the same time they tried to rent out free rooms on Facebook).

We paid €9,000 for 5 days, 5 people and 2 rooms, including a suite (the price is just like that during New Year's Eve :-() and a room without a view of the castle.

The suite room (see picture) was quite small for 3 people, you could hardly turn around in the bathroom (see red X), the water ran through an "ill-conceived" door solution into the entire bathroom, so that the water stood there.

On day 3, housekeeping still didn't know that there were three of us in the suite (no extra towels/bathrobe). Otherwise, the suite was cleaned very sensibly and cleanly every day.

The house staff were mainly busy making extra sales and charging for everything they could. The management (family) was far away from us guests except on New Year's Eve (mostly for dining). We had to pay dearly for every coffee (outside of breakfast) and every drop of water outside of the spa area, even though this water came out of the tap with a bubbler and filter system. The highlight was the later billing for the New Year's Eve champagne, which was booked into our room without mentioning it. The reception was no longer manned after 10:30 a.m., except on New Year's Eve.

The meal (included in the price) consisted of 4 courses and varied between world class and regional class. The New Year's Eve menu took almost 3 hours to be served one after the other. Unfortunately, far too long.

Finally, we would like to emphasize the variety of the SPA, although the lounge and relaxation rooms are quite small. The treatments/massages are also rather average.

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel at all.

I'm not sure, but I would be surprised if they had. This is not a very common facility in Europe. Most high level hotels operate a laundry service, but not a self serve laundry.
