We were in the hotel for the first time in March 2022 and now in April 2024 for a girls' weekend. The view of Reutlingen, the hotel is simply unique and the wellness area is also beautiful. The location close to Metzingen is ideal for spending a weekend there.
Although there were two weddings that weekend, we didn't have any noise pollution in the room. Our room was clean and at the back, the breakfast buffet was plentiful and the staff was friendly. The scrambled eggs and sausages were unfortunately very cold even though warming containers were used.
We ate à la carte in the restaurant. As in 2022. The restaurant works with convenience products. The food is not particularly high quality. The price-performance ratio in the restaurant is definitely not right.
The hotel scores with its incredibly beautiful view and offers great relaxation for a short vacation near Stuttgart.

The hotel is located on a hill far away from any city noise. There are plenty of hiking options around with castles, waterfalls and ruins.
The hotel is super modern, has friendly staff, a great breakfast- with a scenic view and a great spa area with a marvelous pool!

This hotel is very unique in its location and views. You are able to look over all of Reutlingen and enjoy the sounds of German nature.
The breakfast was excellent every morning.
You are also able to go on hike up to a castle right outside the hotel with even more spectacular views.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a little get away in the German hills.

My husband and I booked the exclusive picnic (€89) and it was a complete disappointment.
The food consisted of various leftovers from the breakfast buffet and corresponded to a purchase value of max. €10. When we unpacked the picnic basket, we discovered that there were no glasses or plates. Butter was also not provided and I only received it as a goodwill gesture. I went to reception twice to get the missing utensils.
This "event" is absolutely not recommended. Please spend your money elsewhere.

We had a wonderful time at this resort hotel with views on the Swabian Jura! Our Junior Suite (Best view) had full glass walls overlooking the valley, a lovely bathroom and comfortable bed. Our friend had a regular room that also had a glass wall and a view. The swimming pool and spa area are beautiful. The pool is smaller than it appears in the pictures though and is not ideal for a serious lap swimmer. We didn't have time to use the spa facilities but everything looked beautiful. The restaurant was good but not exceptional with local fair. The bar area is nice also and we enjoyed a fun evening with Scottish Euro Cup football fans. The staff was exceptionally friendly and despite a wedding at the hotel (separate building), it was quiet and we slept well. I highly recommend this hotel and plan to be back, for a little longer to take advantage of all the offerings.

I switched hotels to have a relaxing a quiet weekend while visiting on business trip. Everyone boasted about the hotels beautiful views and nice restaurant. Looking out over the Swabian Alps and the city of Reutlingen is what is advertised. I was placed in a terrible tiny hot box just over the hotel entry. No privacy, no view and car doors making a ruckus. I asked to switch rooms but they would not accommodate. The staff is not friendly. Just a terrible experience.

A tastefully designed family hotspot Beautiful hillside location outside Reutlingen. We spent two nights here. The hotel is tastefully decorated, the rooms, even the bathrooms top. The staff is extremely nice and devoted. The pool is awesome! Swimming in the warm water in the infinity pool overlooking the Swabian Alb. The kitchen is regionally down to earth and fully in order.
We really enjoyed our time and would love to come back. Highly recommended!

Very nice Pension, with a clear view overlooking the city and in a very quiet place. Great parking facility , with underground parking . The rooms are comfortable , clean and spacious. The staff and friendly and speaks several languages including, for me, French. Hearty breakfast. A bar is also in the Pension to spend a pleasant time, and right next door you have a good restaurant.

We always go to the Waldcafe when we go out for a nice dinner because we had always heard that the Achalm restaurant quality was poor and overpriced with the management reported as arrogant. So when new management and the chef from Reutlingen's Terrine restaurant took over, we had to try it! The Terrine restaurant was great.
Needless to say, we were disappointed from just about every aspect.
Aesthetics-ok it is a nice view as the sun sets but you basically overlook a parking lot as well. The tables are very close together so you might as well sit at your neighbor's table!
Prices-very expensive for quality we received!!!
Food-my risotto was hard, undercooked and tasteless. The kurbis had no flavor (which was also undercooked too!). On top was a tomato for decoration--could the restaurant (for over 15 euros) afford something more than a tasteless hothouse tomato? My husband ordered the angus rostbraten which basically didn't taste like anything either BUT it was quit expensive!
SERVICE-almost the worst I have ever experienced. We asked for another table a bit separate (due to the loudness of our neighbor); the server seemed totally put out even though there were many tables free at that hour! My son ordered Fanta; he received Coke! He ordered sauce on the side; it came with the sauce on top. While opening and pouring our wine, the manager talked more with other people at nearby tables. If i buy a 50 euro bottle of wine, I would like at least a little service with it. He didn't even offer a taste; he just poured. We were shocked! When we noted the problems, the manager didn't seem to care. We heard later from one of the servers that management is not allowing the chef to provide the quality ingredients he wants!
I travel all over the world and this was one of the worse (and pricest) restaurant experiences I have had in a very long time!
We returned drinks and food that became more bothersome as it continued.
Don't bother going here if you want a really nice dinner with a good experience.

+1
I stayed at Achalm Hotel for one night from Sunday to Monday 3-4 July 2016. Already the arrival war very beautiful, up the mountain. Nice lobby area and good bar location. Free parking. I did get a nice and generous upgrade to a Junior Suite (Room #326). On my behalf absolutly best room. Very big, clean, and the view is amazing. Staff is very competent. I would even give a 5th Star to this hotel. I've slept like a baby. The SPA Area is very nice, fancy outdoor pool and hot sauna and steam bath (turkish bath). And it is only a 20 Minutes drive to the Airport Stuttgart (STR). I can really very very highly recommend this Hotel!
