This place turned up and it was just over a hundred Euro a night. Seemed what I was looking for.
I had a single room ( i.e. a small double bed). There was a TV, desk, Bathroom and not much more. Check in took a couple of minutes and the girl behind the counter was friendly.
There was a view of the town…nothing special.
It was relatively quiet( hotel noise from the inside), but at 6 am I was woken by the Church bells ringing.
To get to the Messe was a 2 minute walk and then a 15 minute bus ride ( that cost 2.5 Euro). The 122 Bus stopped 100 meters away from the entrance to Hall 10 of the Messe, which was perfect for me.
In the evening, and morning, I ate in my room ( there was no kettle……but I did bring my own). There is a large Supermarket that I visited to pick up some supplies. It was about a 10 minute walk away, up a hill…..but it had everything that I needed.
Overall, the place was OK. Not expensive. Close to where I needed to be.
If I am at the Stuttgart Messe again next year, I will consider being here again.
When reaching the village slow down as there is a speed trap !!
Highly recommended.
Unfortunately for us there was a wedding celebration going on at the restaurant which kept us up until 3am (eventhough we had specifically requested a quiet room, we were given a room above the restaurant where the celebration was taking place). There was no way for us to access the (tiny) sauna since the party had also taken this hostage. Thankfully for us, this was just a one night rest stop (which was not restful at all come to think of it).
Breakfast was nicely presented. The hotel has a nice bar long area.
And then there is one item that burst the bubble: the towels felt like sandpaper. Ok, I'm exaggerating. I'm blaming myself for not bringing this to the attention of management.
