Right in the centre of Oberstdorf which is good in most respects but was a bit of a problem in first finding - in a pedestrianised area which is a bit off-putting when you arrive by car. Oberstdorf is a great base for outdoor activity. The hotel has character, the room we had was large with a balcony and good size shower-room. Although in the middle of the town it was quiet at night and we were able to sleep with windows open. Very good breakfast buffet. Nice dining room but the stairs and corridors were getting a bit "tired" looking. We were given complimentary cards for discount on local transport.

We are currently staying in the hotel. The room is big, warm and comfortable. The hotel is central and close to everything. It would be better in season I am sure as we have to open two doors using a key to get into reception and walk up 4 flights of stairs to our room. Breakfast is good. Everything is fresh which is great. I would have preferred to have a kettle and some tea and coffee in the room. Would I return... yes!

We arrived at almost closing but were welcomed and dined in peace even after they closed we were not hurried to leave. Delicious and friendly, thank you again. We will definitely remember our experience here when we return to Australia.

Nice size room with cute enclosed porch. Disappointment was that the toilet had a terrible scent of urine. I'm not sure if they were having sceptic problems or if it wasn't cleaned properly. We only stayed one night. The rest of the room was very clean. Also need to say the restaurant was excellent - had the wiener schnitzel, which was pounded thin and nice and crispy. Husband had the pork with gravy and mushrooms and really enjoyed it. Breakfast buffet had a lot to choose from, and the woman who managed it was very nice and stayed on top of things. Oberstdorf is a lovely town, and we enjoyed our walk through it. The mountains are gorgeous!

A truly wonderful small hotel in the center of the walking district of Oberstdorf. Super friendly breakfast server. Great breakfast variety. Fabulous menu and all items ordered over 3 days was superb!! Hope to return again and again.

A lovely hotel in a lovely location and right in the middle of the town. A great restaurant which was very popular. We stayed one night. The room is of a good size, basic but adequate and the shower room is spotless. The breakfast was outstanding. Parking is available around the back of the hotel but there may be a charge of 5 euros for the privilege. You would need to check this as my booking said it was free. The Manager honoured my booking but it may have changed now.

Located in the pedestrian zone of Oberstdorf, it's a nice quiet place to spend a couple of days. Our room was 3rd floor (no lift!) with scenic view from the balkony. Watching sunset was spectacular.
Don't be afraid of the no traffic zone; as a hotel guest you'll be allowed to drive in. Parking is free.
Breakfast is superb and will energize your day until dusk.
Rooms are clean and beds are OK, bathrooms are also OK. Carpet may need replacement soon.
Staff is extremly frindly and helpful. We got talked to the parking by phone as the GPS refused to bring us into the pedestrian zone, and the lady from front desk was waiting beside the street to show us the parking lot entrance.

We were spread over three rooms, all well equipped and very comfortable. The rooms are cleaned daily including fresh bedding. The breakfast offers masses of choice to suit all tastes. The hotel is very centrally located with private parking included in the price. The wifi can be a little intermittent but is free. All rooms came with a balcony area. There is a restaurant downstairs should you wish to use it. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and speak much better Englush than we do German. Would definitely stay again.

February 2015 proved yet again that German hospitality and great food are right up there. After a days skiing it is lovely to be served a hearty meal from a wide variety of choices all washed down with one of the many excellent German beers. Good value too - especially for the alcohol.
