The hotel is wonderfully located, quietly in Tiefenbach. The parking situation at the hotel is not particularly good, we had booked a paid underground parking space in advance, which was very good. Our room (not the cheapest category) was spacious and comfortable, the smell of dog was a bit annoying when we entered. Airing it out didn't help either. Maybe some rooms should be kept dog-free to avoid such smells. It's probably also because of the carpet. The room was also not particularly bright. The breakfast and dinner were very good, especially the breakfast. Drinks prices were OK. The ambience in the hotel was super cozy. We were disappointed with the wellness area because we were really looking forward to it. There weren't enough loungers. After a sauna session we went back to the room because there was nothing free. You feel at home here straight away. The staff is very courteous, friendly and helpful. The cuisine is very varied and the food is very tasty. Some of the rooms are very dark, which is due to the far-overhanging roofs and the dark furniture. However, many rooms are new and brightly furnished and have larger windows. The wellness area (4 saunas in the house, a panoramic sauna with a relaxation area right next to the house) is highly recommended. An ideal starting point for many tours for bikers and hikers. The town center of Oberstdorf can be reached by car in a few minutes

All in all we liked it very much. Of particular note is the always very friendly staff, for whom nothing is too much to fulfill the wishes of the guest. Especially in the restaurant a great service is offered, you don't have to wait for anything. The food selection offered was rich and delicious, I firmly believe that everyone will find something here. Sometimes the salad buffet was empty relatively quickly, but was refilled after a few minutes. The salads were very delicious by the way, especially the various potato salads - as with my grandmother ;-) Prices for the drinks are absolutely within reach. Our room was newly renovated and super large (207). It smelled neither of cigarettes nor of dog the cleanliness was impeccable. We had a fantastic view of Oberstdorf and the mountains behind it, so we liked to relax on the balcony after hiking. Parking spaces were ample. There are clear rules regarding dinner times, but this was no problem for us. We did not use the wellness area. For us, the Hotel Bergruh has a great value for money - especially considering that the included Allgäu Walser Card has already included many cable cars in the price. We will definitely spend our holidays here again in the next few years:) a very clear recommendation.

On the whole, the stay was okay. The host tried to spread a good mood every evening with a friendly mini and an exuberant "hello". The house is outside, in a quiet location. However, some rooms - like ours - have no view, as you sit right next to a retaining wall.
The wellness area was only open in the afternoon; in bad weather it would be nice if it was open all day. Unfortunately, there was no free choice of table at dinner. The dinner that is so highly praised here is rather average. For example, with a dessert that was listed on the menu as "Mousse au Chocolat", I asked the boss (due to intolerances I am very sensitive to this) whether this mousse contained milk. He said: "Yes, there is milk in it". In a real mousse au chocolate there is never milk in it, but cream. It also tasted like a "bag" of mousse. Furthermore, for the “Obstler” dessert, there was no choice of the various “Obstler” that were offered in the hotel. It's a shame that they were so inflexible. We were glad that there was no snow yet on this one-way street to the hotel. I wouldn't want to drive when there's a lot of snow. And now we're back in the Allgäu for the first time in ages. What did we expect? Mountains, cows, peace and quiet, views that are a treat for the eyes, hiking, good food and a cold beer and a hotel where you feel good - that's exactly what we had at the Hotel Bergruh! The price-performance ratio is reasonable, the summer price includes the cable cars and the parking spaces P1 and 2 as well as the buses! So we'll be happy to come back.

It's one of those things with the first impression: here he was characterized by a borderline rebuke by the receptionist regarding our double actuation of the bell at the garage entrance. After a quick internet search, we booked the comfort room on offer. The furnishings in the room correspond to the photos in the internet, but unfortunately these do not show that all the furniture and the carpet are clearly showing their age and are showing signs of wear. In our opinion, the furniture is around 30 years old, and the bathroom fittings are unfortunately not comfortable either, just standard fittings at best (mold on the ceiling and the edge of the tub). Unfortunately, there was no minibar. Guests with dogs should make sure that dogs are not allowed in any of the hotel's public areas.

We were there again at New Year's with the whole family. Everyone looked after us wonderfully, so that we had a great time again. The rooms are very nice and clean. The service is very attentive and the food is very varied and delicious. Even changes to the menu are dealt with very flexibly.
