Pleasant hotel in the fine fortress the Austrians left in Petrovaradin in the 18th century. In a quiet position, many of its rooms (including mine) overlook the Danube and Novi Sad. I had a comfortable spacious room with a sitting area. Good bathroom and wifi, and the management was helpful getting me a taxi for my train. Breakfast was included and ok, except that the hot food heaters were turned off a good 30 minutes before the end of breakfast. There are two good restaurants next door with terraces and views in fine weather. It’s an easy and pleasant walk into Novi Sad’s interesting, historic centre. Traveller’s tip: the Museum of Vojvodina in the city centre is fascinating, especially the section covering the World Wars and Trianon. But don’t bother with the very boring Museum of Novi Sad near the hotel - it only covers prehistory.

The Leopold is part of the fortress and as such has been beautifully maintained as a historic property. The common areas and the rooms are beautiful, breakfast is delicious (love those croissants!) and the staff is helpful. Of course being located in the fortress, the city centre is a long (but pretty) walk but taxis are readily available to take you anywhere. A highlight of a trip to Novi Sad.

One of the best hotels in ever been ,i made hundreds of visiting to other countries but this one in my opinion was one of the best.it just take you to another century was inside the fortress on top of the hill with ancient walls around it .
Inside the hotel was brilliant so nice like a palace, with paintings in every room .
Very polite staff ,very clean and breakfast was very good .
The view from above is amazing you can see the whole town of Novi Sad and in day time you can have your coffee near the walls with view of the river.
I really reallly recomended to all they want to visit Novi sad .

Great location up on a hill overlooking Novi Sad…..great sense of the heritage and history of the area. Charming hotel which takes you back in time, staff is friendly and accommodating. We had a room overlooking the river which was lovely……the room could have used some maintenance. Very old style hair dryer …..the boxes on the wall kind of thing, room needed a paint job….very scuffed up walls, very low and rather hard beds, breakfast had ok selection but needed attention to detail…….only tea available was fruit or green… no black tea, eggs were not heated up, coffee was ok. If you want a historic property with a good view and aren’t looking for 5 star….this is a good choice

We really adored this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, welcoming, and pleasant. The location and hotel itself is just beautiful. The breakfast was exceptional, and it is served in beautiful surroundings with a view of the Danube. I would love to stay here again.

Loved being up in the fortress with great views, but this is an old, dated hotel, fine if you have the right expectations. Very friendly service. Responsive to our request for extra blankets. Breakfast average. Very cold in the room, and strangely heat didn’t come on until the morning. Safe didn’t work.

Everything was perfect - accomodation, services, nice vue (especially evening and night).
They gave us informations about Novi Sad and the local beverages they are selling are great.
Congratulations to all personnel, they were very kind.

Hotel LEOPOLDI I - NOVI SAD - SERBIA
Stayed in September 2024. Hotel located at the top of the fortress. Access and free parking.
Beautiful interior. We're looking back in time.
The basic room is really small. Prefers suites including some worthy of a palace.
During our stay, the restaurant was closed, but several restaurants just nearby.
Breakfast served in the beautiful period rooms.
A good choice and quality.
Very pleasant stay.

The hotel is old and historic with amazing views. The journey up to the hotel is an interesting cobble stone road and walk way. You are me by a hotel with stunning views of the Danube. The staff are very friendly and helpful with a good level of English. The rooms are a little dated in the style but not in quality. You are a quick walk to restaurants and the local attractions. Well worth a visit.

Nice view, location and service. Sure, I could use a door to separate the bathroom from the rest, but still. Really cozy and gives off that old castle vibe. Well made food and last, but not least, the view. It's great, no matter on which floor your room is!
