Nestled in an elevated position with panoramic views of Lucerne Lake and the Alps, the Bürgenstock Hotel & Alpine Spa has captured the hearts of guests with its inviting atmosphere, luxurious rooms, and world-class amenities. Accommodations with balconies are often commended for their spaciousness and breathtaking vistas.
While service is generally praised for being attentive, there have been some hiccups during busy periods. The spa and dining options are standouts, adding to the hotel's allure, although opinions on value for money are divided, with some questioning the cost relative to their experience.

We had such a lovely stay at this gorgeously located hotel. We didnt see the view due to fog and mist, but the whole surrounding area was like a winter wonderland. We had lovely surprises from the hotel - it was our joint birthday celebration stay - they upgraded us from Waldhotel to the Burgenstock to the most lovely room with a fireplace and view and a bathtub. They had arranged a delicious birthday cake waiting in our room with yummy chocolates and mostly free mini bar! Great amenities, loooooved the fireplace, which was sooo cozy and warm and chirstmassy! As vegans, they made sure we had options for breakfast, lunch and dinner available and was super attentive and warm and welcoming. We did a mixology class which was fun and had a stint in the Ice Lab, super cool (literally as well) and is good for your health! It was during COVID-19 and all staff were hygienic and wearing masks including guests which made us feel much safer as well.

Another Amazing stay at Burgenstock Resort. We last visited in 2019 before Covid/Lockdown etc. Resort is easy to get to - we arrived by Train from Zurich Airport to Lucerne, then a short 5min walk to the Ferry terminal to catch the Catamaran which takes around 30/40 minutes across the Lake which has amazing scenery, a Funnicular was waiting to take us up the Mountain to the resort, bellboys were First Class took both our bags & directed us to the Hotel to check-in, Check-in was quick, room was amazing as usual with Alpine Views with a fruit bowl & Swiss chocolate on arrival, we visited Alpine Spa which is the best Spa we have ever visited, my wife was pregnant on the last visit so we didn’t use a lot of the spa facilities so this time we took full advantage & used the lot! Wife got a friendly reminder from the spa staff that no bikinis/swim wear were allowed as it’s a nude spa which didn’t bother us your allowed to cover up with a towel, there is a part that’s not nude like the infinity pool & main swimming pool, Waldhotel Spa (also a nude spa) is also amazing but a lot smaller & less crowded, we had 60min massage treatments at this spa which were 10/10, we visited Spices Restaurant, Lakeview Bar and the Oak Bar & Grill, the service & food including at Breakfast time were all amazing, we can’t even think of one fault apart from prices have gone up quite a bit since our last visit prices have gone up everywhere tbh but well worth it, We can’t wait to visit again!
Overall 10/10!

We stayed three nights in late September and were blessed with beautiful summer weather
My husband and I have traveled around the world multiple times and we're world class demanding. This is on the short list of places that have met and exceeded our expectations.
The room we were initially given, a spa suite, was gorgeous inside but, being on one of the lower floors at the end of the building, the view of the lake was occluded by trees and the other side was looking out onto the busy courtyard where people wait for the funicular. They didn't have a higher floor room of the same category, but we got a junior suite with an astounding panoramic lake view with a price reduction.
The decor and design of the rooms is very contemporary and very much to our liking. Beautiful wood, stone, glass and fixtures. Beds were excellent as were bathrooms.
Several of the restaurants hadn't yet reopened post-covid but those we tried (the Spices Asian restaurant where breakfast is served, the Sharq middle eastern) were exceptionally good. At the moment, though, no "traditional Swiss" to be had.
The resort accepted our US hard copy vaccine certificates, but to go into restaurants outside the resort, we needed a "Swiss certificate" which required a covid test in Switzerland. We also needed another covid test just before leaving, to fly back to London. The resort did both for us at their lab facility in the wellness orient Waldhotel that is part of the same complex, and their people helped explain the very confusing Swiss app that is used to generate the needed QR code and certificate.
View and landscape-wise there are two wonderful sides: the lake side which is one of the most beautiful in the world, and the mountainside which is lush, green and where you hear cowbells.
Spectacularly beautiful spa area with pools. Was also able to get a "real" massage from a young man who knew how to do real deep tissue, not the "powder puff" massage you sometimes get at big resorts.
Service bent over backwards to keep us happy, which isn't always easy. The staff were terrific.

Really impressive architecture and design. The staff is good, but not on par with the asking prices. The management is just below average. If one pays four digits you don’t want to be said that you have to take a boat and a train if you don’t want to eat in the lobby. Only one restaurant was open all night I stayed and it was always fully booked. Comparing it to a football club: expensive tickets, a magnificent stadion, good players, bad manager. Game lost.

Thank you very much for taking a moment to share your experience. We are indeed thrilled to read your fantastic words and that you found the Bürgenstock Resort property in respect to an impressive architecture and design exceptional in every way. Please kindly rest assured that your encounter with adjusted opening hours of our restaurants, due to the situation with the start of relaxation of the lockdown situation, our service did not reflect the true Bürgenstock Resort spirit and we have now increased our offer dramatically. I completely understand that it is nerve-racking that no restaurant had capacity anymore during your stay. Our preference planner sent 7 days prior to arrival as well as immediately with your reservation confirmation gives you the opportunity to directly reserve restaurants in advance or contact us for all inquiries. Once again, apologies that we did not meet your expectations. I sincerely hope we could go in another round and welcome you back again in the future to demonstrate you that we have strong team players being able to serve you with a service that is second to none. Warm regards, Robert P. Herr General Manager Bürgenstock Hotels & Resort

Cloud Nine
Wow! Arrived wound up after a terrible journey, ten minutes in the Alpine Spa and suddenly nothing mattered. Floating in the outdoor infinity pool’s warm waters, with fresh alpine air on your cheeks, views of spectacular snowy mountains and the lake 1,000 metres below the pools edge, it’s just out of this world. The dark ‘floating hamam’ was also a super sensory experience that was new to me.
The room was stylish and at the same time really comfortable and ergonomic. So lovely having the flickering fireplace, sunken bath by the huge window high on the mountainside. I’d love to have brought one of my children, as they can set up a soft bed in the bay window for kids, it would be like sleeping on a cloud in the sky, I’ve not seen anything like that before.
Home made bread in the Oak Grill was manner from heaven. It’s a terrific stylish dining room, with oversized oak tables, beams and a great jazzy playlist. In fact the music set a good beat wherever in the hotel without being intrusive. Spices (huge open kitchen) and Lakeview Lounge have knockout views and delicious cuisine. Breakfasts are really lovely, with your own mini buffet served in a nifty ‘tower’, which felt like a smart sustainable move, less wasteful than usual hotel buffets. And you’re surrounded by stupendous views of alpine peaks, quite mind blowing.
I liked walking up to the Waldhotel with views over the meadows to the local farms, who all supply the hotel, listening to cowbells and cockerels. A pretty contrast to the super stylish Burgenstock hotel. The cryotherapy at Waldhotel is amazing. Two minutes at -110 degrees, afterwards I felt supercharged, couldn’t stop running about. Really enjoyed the Colour Cuisine at Waldhotel’s restaurant Verbena, it was ‘Yellow day’, for an immunity boost. I met Katia who runs a Cooking Lab, so enthusiastic and very informative in just a two minute conversation, I’m going to go back for a nutrition education and better gut health.
What I really enjoyed was the friendliness. While this is a high style resort everyone was smiling, warm and enthusiastic making it a really happy stay, I’m still grinning as I write this.

This resort is beautifully situated with an incomparable view.
We booked a Contemporary Lake View Premium Suite, which leaves nothing to be desired in terms of size and amenities. The view with the large windows is an impressive experience and you can hardly get enough of it.
The spa with the infinity pool is certainly an absolute highlight. There is a lot on offer, from floating, steam bath, sauna (nude area only), to various relaxation areas with water beds.
If you are looking for an impressive spa, you will get your money's worth here.
Fortunately the weather was sunny and warm, so we could also enjoy the outdoor pool. We also booked the covered double beds, for which we had to fork out an extra CHF 150 for 4 hours. As the attentiveness of the service staff was not convincing, the price is not justified. Unfortunately, there was a certain "listlessness" to be felt, which should not happen in a hotel like this.
We dined at the Oak Grill and Spices. Both restaurants are highly recommended and we enjoyed the food freshly prepared by the kitchen.
Unfortunately, the service staff at Spices was anything but convincing. My wife was doused with champagne, which can certainly happen. But then it is all the more important that they immediately try to dry the wet jacket and remove the shards from the floor. Unfortunately, nobody took care of it and only after I had to raise my voice did they take action. The head of service is generally overwhelmed, which is noticeable across the whole team. There is a lack of clear leadership here, which is a shame, as the delicacies served suffer as a result.
At breakfast, too, you have to wait far too long before you are accompanied to your table. It is unacceptable that guests are kept waiting far too long in such a top hotel.
The resort still has a lot of room for improvement and the attentiveness of the staff definitely leaves a lot to be desired.
We will test the resort again in December and hope that the irregularities have been corrected by then. At prices like these, everything has to be right, which unfortunately is not (yet) the case.
Nevertheless, we really enjoyed our stay and the location, furnishings, rooms and spa are highly recommended.
Special praise goes to Marlon from the spa, if all the staff were as passionate, attentive and happy, we could give 5 out of 5 stars.

Very nice room, spacious, with a fireplace and a very large bathtub, possible to take a bath for 4, 2 adults and two small children. The Bulgari Green Tea products are captivating. This establishment reconciled us with the Swiss delux hotel industry. Certainly the price is expensive but for the service provided then it is a rate that is worth it

Amazing experience overall!!!
For a large family including 5 kids, this was a great resort to spend the weekend!! Now I realize you need more than a weekend to take advantage of the number of activities available both at the resort and around the area.
From the arrival via catamaran and their own funicular to the location with unbeatable with 360° breathtaking views, this place is quite an experience.
The quality of the hotel is top-notch and so are the restaurant options within the resort.
We were able to hike on the Cliff Walk to the famous Hammetschwand Lift, bike ride to the famous Villa Honegg and Vierwaldstättersee viewpoint, spend time on the tennis dome and of course swim on the famous infinity spa pool... but we missed many other activities so next time we shall spend more time at the Bürgenstock Resort.
Minor details could be worked on the housekeeping side to clean up the rooms promptly and except for Lucas, which was a great concierge, the other one was not very helpful specially on explaining what our family packaged included or how to organize the best activities for the days.
Would recommend it and will return in the future.

it was foggy and we looked down on a fog ocean with some islands.
Stunning view from our room, a full lakeview room. On a clear day one will see lake Lucern but now it is mystic, sitting in the sun looking at the fog in the lower altitude.
The room is spacious with a panoramic window in the bathroom, sitting the tub will give superb view. Also a 2 sided fireplace, very romantic. But it has its price.
If you travel with more luggage, there could be a storage problem, otherwise the layout is practical and focus on the view.
We seem to had a bad day in regards of the service callcenter, 2 calls and both were not up to the standard of 5*. The service in other parts were great and attentive. Maybe a one off problem but gets the rating down for us.
If you like to dine do not forget to make a reservation in time, it was busy and the good tables were already gone 2 days before the dinner.
Overall a great experience.

There would appear to be no planning between the resort and with online hotel booking agency's ...
After reading the reviews of the resort online I was impressed and decided treat my wife to a stay in the hotel. I reserved a room at the Bürgenstock hotel via booking.com which indicated that the hotel was open after the Corona situation.
We then received a message from the resort asking us which restaurant that we'd like to reserve.
Next day, we received an email informing us that we could'nt stay in the hotel, the spa and restaurants were closed until the 8th June 2020 and if we'd like to stay in the Waldhotel instead, hell no!
We were asked if we wanted to cancel, so we replied back to the e-mail and then they came back and said to contact booking.com to do so. It would of saved time, if we could of been informed of the process all in one message.
So much time wasted and needless hassle, our expectations were clearly not met. This is not the level of service which we'd expect from a world class resort and we were offered no compensation or incentive to re-book. I would of expected the resort to work with booking.com and others to co-ordinate on opening dates but more so, we were really looking forward to a good break!

I would check with the hotel to see what the rules are since they’re always changing.
I have personally seen kids in the indoor pool and in the Infinity Edge Outdoor Pool. Always with parental guidance. Children are not allowed in the nude area. Saunas are adults only.
