The Alpe d'Huez hotel is lauded for its vibrant atmosphere and entertainment, situated in a prime spot for ski enthusiasts. However, opinions on service are divided, with accolades for staff engagement contrasting reports of disorganization. While the rooms and facilities generally meet cleanliness standards, some guests find the overall value disappointing, noting service and accommodation issues. Despite clean and spacious rooms, the efficiency of amenities like the kids club and ski equipment handling falls short for some travelers.

We have had the best week at club med for our annual family ski holiday. The service and friendliness of the staff is just beyond amazing. Camille is fantastic and leads a warm friendly team who will do anything for you team. The New Years oarty in fact every day was just a show stopper!! Our 4 year old after a week of mini club was skiing blues and greens with us on the last day. I really liked how much ski school is provided to the children as in they have two sessions a day with esf and literally right outside the hotel they have their own nursery. Club med is definitly more European compared to say esprit So expect the first language to be french but that doesn’t mean the care and attention isn’t given. The shows and events they put on are excellent. So much effort is put in. The rooms are exceptionally clean and new and the only thing that was a little poor was the water pressure but loads of storage and the bed was comfy.

The food was amazing! So much choice. So fresh! We definitly have eaten more than we normally would because it was so good and the house wine was really good especially the rose! So if you want a relaxed beautiful resort easy ski in ski out and be happy I definitly reccomend this hotel! Exceptionnel! We will be back!

Special thanks must go to Amelie in petit club. She was amazing with our two year old and Dylan the chicken! He put a smile on our face every day! He is just brilliant with the kids! And the lady that serves the pasta! She was lovely!!!

Just came back from a week in the newly renovated Alpe d'Huez during Christmas and had an amazing time. I should note that this is the second time I went to this resort, the first time being 9 years ago, and it is a completely different experience. The hotel was renovated from top to bottom and it is just beautiful.
The rooms were very comfortable and the GO team made every effort to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable.
The food was great and the kitchen staff made every effort to make sure that our son, who has dairy allergy, gets food prepared especially for him (including getting especially for him a sorbet when all other desserts available were dairy).
The mini club team were absolutely great and my children didn't want to leave.
The spa looks amazing, with a jacuzzi outisde in the snow and a steam room/hamam, although the pool's water was a bit chilly to my taste.
The ski resort and instructor were top notch, with ski-in/out directly from the ski room.
Overall, a great experience and we will deffinitly come back.

This was our first time at Club Med and what an amazing experience we've had!

We were so impressed by how well organised our trip was from the check-in at Gatwick airport to the transfers between the airport and the hotel.

At the hotel. everything was extremely well organised and one can understand why Club Med is such a successful operation.

On our first evening Marion sat with us at dinner and gave us an extremely good overview of Club Med, she was extremely friendly and insightful!

We decided to go to Club Med because we needed childcare for our 2 years old. The Petit Club Med was the perfect solution and the team is amazing. Thanks Natacha, Pauline, Lola, Melanie for looking after our son so well and being such lovely people! It was the first time my husband and I had time for ourselves since his birth: our time on the slopes knowing our child was well looked after was EXTREMELY PRECIOUS. So we could not be thankful enough. :)

At dinner, we met Morgane, who after 2 days knew our little routine and was setting up the high chair ahead of our arrival at 7pm. Our son really enjoyed seeing Morgane every evening, she was so good with him! And we loved having her look after us! Thank you so much Morgane, it was a real pleasure to meet you!

In terms of accommodation, the room was perfect, the setting fantastic.

The food was just incredible, the buffet was so varied, we wanted to try everything!

The only downside is the quality of the coffee: I wish there was a barista with a "proper" coffee machine and oat milk :) But I'm being picky!

Also, the dinner for small children was too late: maybe a suggestion would be a baby food corner in the bar area from 5pm to 7pm so people can feed their kids depending on their schedule?

Overall we absolutely LOVED our stay! Thank you Club Med!

The location of Club Med Alpe D’Huez is fantastic, with easy access to the slopes and spectacular views. Our “easy arrival” was just that, with a smooth transfer, cases appearing in our room, skis and boots appearing in our lockers.

Overall, we felt the staff worked hard to provide a fantastic experience for holidayers. However, there were a couple of areas where I felt they fell short.

The good:
Amazing location, varied skiing, super instruction from ESF from right outside the door. Our room was clean and comfortable.
Food was plentiful and varied.
The bar staff were super-efficient and we enjoyed the cocktails after skiing.

The bad:
I’m vegetarian and it wasn’t apparent what I could eat. There were usually veggie options but tucking into “mushroom gratin” to discover slices of bacon is upsetting. The same implements were being used to serve sausages and chips.
As the week progressed, several large parties started reserving tables, leaving other groups wandering round the dining room. We tried to reserve but were told to come back later in the day. We came back later to be told we couldn’t reserve. There needs to be a better system of either allocated tables or no reservations.

The ugly:
Not enough toilets in the communal areas. On several occasions, they were dirty and without toilet paper.
The swimming pool was absolutely rammed, presided over by a lifeguard who spent the whole time playing on his phone. The outside pool was closed.
I know we visited during school holidays, but there were huge groups of absolutely feral children running and screaming round the hotel. The so-called “quiet area” of the bar was at one point, treated as an unofficial parkour area and on another occasion several kids decided to have a watertight in this area by throwing cups of water at each other. Surely some staff could check these things?

In summary, it’s a good resort that doesn’t quite live up to expectations but could easily do so. I hope they sort these issues out, because I’d like to come back.

Third winter clubMed I am going to. I had targeted this one as it was newly refurbished. Very disappointed so far with rooms, which are tiny and dark. Style is very cold and rooms seem to have been refurbished with cheap material. Rooms on the North side are very cold and with no view. The Club overall is less charming than others I have seen, with very basic decoration and quite tiny public areas given the number of guests. Staff at reception is unfriendly, very junior and not respectful. Not what I expect from ClubMed. Would definitively not come back here and would not recommend.

I’ve just come back from a weeks stay at Club Med in Alpe D’huez and absolutely loved it!!

When we first arrived the cases are left with the staff and delivered to your room which I find rare in most hotels. You are given a complimentary drink while listening to the guest/entertainer manager I think he was explaining what will happen during the week!

Before the holiday you register your height, weight and shoe size and then on the day of your arrival they are put straight into your room locker in the ski room which is also a great touch from the staff in the ski shop. Having ski lockers in the hotel is also really convenient as the hotel has ski in/ski out access so you’re never carrying your equipment far

For someone who is a fussy Eater, I was always able to find something I liked in the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. There is a range from pizza, burgers, pasta, fish etc during lunch and dinner. At breakfast there is cereal, pancakes, bacon etc - I could always find something I enjoyed

I had 1 ‘rest’ day when out there and made use of the gym, pool and outdoor hot tub. It may just be me being critical but I would’ve loved to been able to access the tv on the running machines but they didn’t seem to work, making the workout sort of boring as I didn’t have the entertainment to keep me occupied on the running machine.

There was entertainment on every night for both kids and adults roughly between 8pm - 12pm. The hotel did cater well for kids as 1 afternoon in the lobby they put some a bouncy castle and other things for the kids.

Overall I really enjoyed the stay and would happily return if the opportunity arose

Beautifully and just recently renovated in a perfect location directly on the slopes of Alpe d'Huez with ski in/out and terrace with amazing view on the Alps. Food is very good with large choice, but the restaurant is very busy and mostly you need to queue for the chosen dish (this is better organized in other Club Meds).
Our 2 year old daughter spent several days in the Petit Club which was fantastic with very caring and lovely educators who really enjoyed taking care of the little guests. There was also a family room with lots of games, a slide and books.
We most enjoyed the Apero before lunch with some wine, Foie Gras and other bites on the terrace with live music after a morning of skiing.
The skiing area is very nice and large with wide slopes.
I also did yoga which was more beginner level and the instructor was not too friendly.

just a scam,
The outdoor hot tub does not work and there are no plans to activate it, a ski vacation without a hot tub is not a vacation. Why don't they advertise that it doesn't work?
The heated pool is very cold, the children did not go in even once, in the pictures it looks good, but it is very cold and unpleasant..
The food is simply tasteless... there is a huge selection, but everything doesn't taste as if it is actually made..
The service is unpleasant, the hotel is very dirty, sheets are not changed..
pure shame..
And the most important thing is that you can't catch them, everything is answering the phone after answering the phone without service and without help, it's far from Club Med as you imagine...

At Club Med, we pay particular attention to the respect of the environment and we aim to reach 100% of the Villages certified GREEN GLOBE (international certification of sustainable tourism). In the same spirit of respect for the environment and our plan for energy sobriety, applied throughout France in companies and individuals, the lowering of the temperature of the aquatic infrastructure and common areas is mandatory. We regret to learn that you did not enjoy the dishes prepared by our chefs. Please be assured that they do their utmost every day to offer you varied and high quality meals. You have expressed your disappointment with the cleanliness of your room during your stay and we are sorry to hear that not everything was done to provide you with the best comfort. A group of 12 of us, including children, experienced multiple issues that significantly impacted our vacation.

Hygiene was a major concern throughout our stay. Five members of our group, including children, fell ill with stomach bugs. Shockingly, when we approached the staff about it, they casually admitted that it was due to the food and confessed that the issue had persisted for the last two weeks without any corrective action taken. This lack of regard for guest health and safety is unacceptable.

Moreover, the attitude of the hotel staff towards guest requests was appalling. When we needed new sheets after my child fell ill during the night, we were met with hostility at the reception. One particular staff member, visibly irritated and complaining about being off their shift, reluctantly handed us a duvet cover, tossing it in our direction in a fit of anger. To make matters worse, when we asked for the name of the staff member, their colleagues protected them by refusing to disclose it.

The kids club, advertised as a fun and safe space for children, was an utter disaster. It was chaotic and poorly organized, leaving young kids in tears and struggling to put on their ski gear without assistance. When I intervened to help my own child, I was bombarded by other children pleading for me to contact their parents, highlighting the negligence of the staff.

Overall, our experience at Club Med Resort was nothing short of disastrous. Not only did we lose valuable ski days due to illness, but the treatment we received and the dismal state of the kids club have left a lasting negative impression. For the exorbitant prices charged by Club Med, one would expect a level of service and hygiene far superior to what was provided. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise others to reconsider booking at this resort.

Two major negatives: the pool and hot tub are cold and not really usable unfortunately, especially for a 1 year old.
Also, 7pm is FAR too late for dinner for a 1 year old and there is literally nowhere in the entire hotel to get food for a baby between 3pm and 7pm...we had to walk to the local village restaurants every day to get her food. There needs to a kids supper at 4/5pm.

Having said that...

Superb holiday overall at Club Med this year, our first holiday and ski trip with a baby. Club Med made what could be a stressful and hard experience fairly seamless and stress free (apart from baby dinner)

The Baby Club for our one year old daughter, Arabella, was amazing!! She was excited to go every day. In particular, Marion and the girls there did such a great job with her and allowed us to ski all day. Amazing!!

Also, Mehmet in the dining area had our table ready with wine and water every night at 7pm. What a great sever. Thanks!!

Rooms are awesome and spacious with loads of storage. Food really nice. Free and decent alcohol. Cakes every day.
