Just home from a wonderful weeks stay at petit prince. Our first ski trip with the children chosen due to the facilities & crystal childcare option. It did not disappoint! As a fussy ex travel agent I am overly picky & being married to an operations director of a large restaurant chain we are Hard to please! However, we had a lovely week with some beautiful evening meals , which were able to be swapped/mixed up a little if so required. My son has food sensory issues and they catered for him every single night! We didn’t have a bad dinner our whole stay. The staff are all Swedish, speak perfect English & are very friendly ! Service was always spot on. From reception to the bar man & our waitress/waiter in the dining hall we received excellent attention to detail from all. The crystal childcare girls are amazing and worth their weight in gold. The kids were looked after so well and enjoyed their time in kids club so much some days we couldn’t get them to come out!!! They had their work cut out dressing and getting kids to ski school on time and with all their belongings but always did it with a smile and were so helpful with other things like bus routes and timetables etc too. Special mention to jenni & Chloe who also got my son eating ‘different’ foods at lunchtime too. This is a big deal to him and us ! Thank you so much! The Langley kids staff were also brilliant at evening movie and disco nights. My kids loved hanging out with you and it’s a great idea for winding down before bed! If I had to be picky I’d say the only improvement to be made is in the room. Our room was cleaned regularly but my kids bedding wasn’t changed all week on their bunks and the bedside tables were quite dusty even after they’d been done. The patio door didn’t close shut properly either but didn’t really bother us as high up and nobody could’ve got in. They are however a brilliant size and quite modern as ski hotels go! Overall we had a great stay! The slopes are easily accessible and the hotel offers everything you might need from equipment to meals, bar, entertainment and childcare for the kids. Would I recommend 100% would I return ? Most definitely!

We stayed at the hotel as a family with young children. Good hotel overall however we did have a few issues with our room which we raised on arrival but unfortunately were not fixed during our stay. Dinner is a set 3 course menu with just the one option of each starter, main & dessert which was quite disappointing! Children menu also one option each. If you have a fussy child like we do, you end up eating out most evenings as we did. Good selection of restaurants & pizzeria’s within walking distance. Staff were friendly and the manager did listen to our grumbles but it’s up to Langley to make some changes. More food options please! Ski & Boot hire very efficient and cheap! Free Shuttle bus stops just across the road and it is every hour takes you around the resort. Alpe D’Huez is a great resort! Would definitely go back!

We were impressed with the well thought out rooms, super comfy beds, amazing views from the balcony, and lovely lounge/bar area. However with just a little more effort and planning, this hotel could be superb.

There is only one option at dinner. So if you don't like it, you're screwed. We had 2 vegetarians in our party which we had informed the hotel about prior to our arrival. Despite this, they had no idea when we arrived and had to concoct something for them for dinner; namely chick peas to replace the lamb that the non-vegetarians were having! These poor substitutions continued throughout the week.

The staff are all very friendly and polite although dinner service is very slow. The boot room and ski room are also very small, so get very congested at peak times.

There is a bus stop just across the road, from which you can get the free bus (Route B) directly to the ski schools and DMC lifts.

Hello, Thank you so much for taking the time to evaluate your stay with us, really appreciate it. We have listened to feedback and now we always have the vegetarian option but also another option to the original menu. It's important to us that guests are having a good dinner experience, so for the pace of the staff during dinner. It's been improved and we are always working to improve on all levels. Good with your recommendation with the bus just outside the hotel! The bus or the lift Grand Sure are the best ways to get to the DMC lifts and the ski system overall. Thank you again and hope to see you at the hotel again!

I really cannot recommend this hotel more highly enough. (Please don’t let any previous bad reviews put you off staying, you will not be disappointed)

From the staff to the food and location, our stay was absolutely fantastic. I’ve been on several skiing holidays and stayed in various hotels and chalets and Le Petit Prince has to top it all things considered. We stayed in room 204, which was a large modern double room, with several places to store and hang up ski kit, it had spacious bathroom with a brilliant shower, but the room was made by the most incredible view of the mountain range which could be enjoyed on a balcony. We were half board and the food was incredible, it was a set menu each evening but varied and there were options for vegetarians and anyone with allergies. Breakfast was self-serve and lots of choice both hot and cold.

The location of the hotel couldn’t have been better; a 5 minute walk to the town and to get to the piste there was a 2 minute walk and very short run to a lift or a free shuttle bus stop right outside the hotel or a bucket lift 7 minutes away, so three easy options to get to the piste / ski school. However, this hotel was made by the staff, we didn’t get all their names but they were all amazing from front of house to the house keeping (who came in daily), they all really couldn’t do more for us. Katarina, Jacob and another lady (who we didn’t get her name) in the restaurant were outstanding, with a really friendly yet professional service, going out of their way to make the stay that little more special and memorable. This hotel is well worth the money and would highly recommend …we will be back!

To add the holiday was booked through Crystal Ski and again would highly recommend as fantastic value for money and provided an excellent service, with a lovely Rep Molly G and regular, helpful updates via text and the transfers etc. all ran really smoothly.

This was my first visit to Alpe d'Huez, staying for 6 nights for a ski holiday.
The hotel was in a good location for walking into the main village centre (approx 10. mins), with other restaurants and bars closer than that i.e. Edelweiss and Smithys Tavern. For access onto the slopes, you could walk across a car park to the left and join a short but slightly steep section of blue run to the Grand Sur chairlift, or walk 5 mins to the right and join a more gentle slope to get to the same chairlift. However, due to limited snow at lower levels this wasn't really ski-able and more walkable. On return, the best option was to ski the blue Village run, narrow but pretty much all flat, back to just by the carpark.
My room was fairly small, but had a large bathroom, good storage space and a balcony. The breakfast had a reasonable choice of continental and hot options, although not as much hot food as other hotel offerings. It was a nice touch that they had made up baguettes to take away for early morning departures.
I used the bar a couple of times late afternoon when returned from skiing, and found it to be very quiet. This may be due to the reception and bar area being down a flight of stairs, rather than walking through it back to rooms. The bar area had nice views over the mountains, and the balcony was lovely on a sunny day.
Overall, this was a mid-ranged priced hotel in a good location, and is somewhere I would consider returning to in the future.

Brilliant holiday here. We booked with crystal as a package holiday. Hotel in great location. If it snows a lot it is ‘ski in ski out’ pretty much! If not much snow this low it’s just a 3 minute walk to the slows . You have to ski a tiny bit of a red to get that lift up. Or you can walk about 10 minutes to a standing chair lift up to the green runs. Food was good. 3 course meal each night. No choice tho really, if your allergic to something or don’t like it it’s just the vegas option. Breakfast was good, yogurts, salad, cold meats, cheese, cereal, baguettes, bacon, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Bar is really nice, fire, loads of windows overlooking the snowy mountains and pool and football table. Drinks a good price! Room was nice all of them have a balcony which was great but wow the room where so hot! Couldn’t turn it down so we just slept with the door open. There are some good bars just about 5 minutes walk away for the evening, book if you ever want dinner out as they get filled up. There is also a fast food takeaway open from 7 till very late next to smithy’s. Good kebabs. ‘Follie Douce’ great apré bar ip the mountain with live music from 3pm and you can sky directly but to the hotel :D ..Would definitely recommend this hotel and resort .Only thing we went in March and not much snow D:

Our small multi generational group have just enjoyed a week staying here and it was absolutely perfect. From the warm welcome we received until our farewell breakfast, the service was exceptional. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and with balcony and amazing view. Mealtimes were a delight, the baby in our party enjoyed sociable breakfasts and some dinners from her high chair, We all thought the food was delicious, buffet breakfast and table d'hote 3 course dinner, with 2 sittings .It was relatively healthy with interesting selections of vegetables and soups/starters - there wasn't the temptation to over eat and return home several pounds heavier which I have experienced in some hotels! There was a very comfortable bar with sofas and huge log fire, pool and TV and also with apres ski drinks on the terrace as the sun went down.
The access to skiing was very good with a 2/3 minute walk to the nearest piste and down to a chairlift and skiers can be seen from the balconies.
I would recommend the hotel especially to British visitors as it is Swedish owned and run and of course perfect English is the norm - but it has a genuine warmth and friendliness from all of the staff, who are multi lingual.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. From the initial welcome to the minute we left, the staff could not have done more to help us. The hotel is very close to the bottom of the Grand Sure Lift which we used to start our day most days. It's a little more tricky to 'ski in' to the hotel with a snowboard, but we used the free shuttle bus to return each day from the slopes. There is a free shuttle bus stop (Castillan) pretty much right outside the hotel taking you to and from the center of town, and also the telecenter cage lift within 5 minutes walk. The hotel was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was brilliant with options for the kids.

The hotel is ideally placed with spectacular views of the mountains. A 5 minute downhill walk to get on the nearest lift and a 5 minute downhill walk after ski out so it's great. Rooms are spacious, modern and serviced every day, the staff are all really friendly and helpful. There is a bar and lounge with a pool table and a balcony at the back which is south facing and amazing views. Food is good and a buffet breakfast sets you up for the day. This gets a big thumbs up from me. Only one suggestion would be for a choice of food for the evening meal. I would absolutely book here again. It's great.

We were a group of 11 guests through Crystal Ski. The hotel is absolutely fine albeit on the edge of town. Its around a half hour journey either by a free bus or walk/gondola to the nursery slopes..(not ideal for 9 to 9.15am lessons).
The hotel staff were very nice, hardworking & helpful but it seemed understaffed.
The rooms are very comfortable, warm & the beds are great.
On one evening our meal took around 2 hours for 2 courses because of a shortage of staff. (chef).
The hotel also ran out of beer on the quiz night by 7pm.
A bit of advice DO NOT put anything on a signed room tab, pay as you go. My room bill was around 180 euros to high at check out. Luckily I questioned this & added up all of the receipts I actually signed for! The staff also hate this way of paying as this seems a weekly issue, especially in large groups.
If you are hiring equipment from the hotel (Langley) they have only one ski technician working on arrival day, the poor lad was doing his best but was taking around 45 minutes to serve a family of 4 people! After a long days travelling queuing up for over an hour to get the equipment is frustrating at best. I did ask the manager to give him a hand which she happily did. In my opinion the ski equipment was in poor condition, I paid for premium skis, these were scratched on the bases & were exactly the same as one of our parties skis who paid standard.
All in all the friendly staff made for a great week so a big thank you from us all.
