Overall Ok, a few - though, we had problems with want water and almost no wifi, small rooms/flats and we were a big group so it was hard to socialise, weather was bad most days . On the + side, close to the slopes, shops and lots of v good restaurants, nice area, many routes so skiing was quality on the better weather days

Thank you for your feedback. Hotel Le Chamois is currently leased for the winter season to Nortlander a Danish ski operator. We are looking into resolving the wifi issue that you experienced and can only apologise. I feel our rooms are generally a good size. I'm sorry to hear you had bad weather - I hope it's better for your next visit to Alpe D'huez!

We stayed here for the second time in three years for La Marmotte.
As always the owners and staff were super friendly and welcoming. The rooms are simple, reasonably comfortable if not lacking a little in size but offer fantastic views.
Breakfast is simple but adequate. Overall a lovely relaxed vibe, English speaking in the perfect location at the top of the Alp.

Went with colleges for 4 Days. Food Was fine but rooms were small. Best suited for adults with No demand for luxury who like good food and skiing at reasonable prize. Close to skilifts and to City centre and shops.
Bar in the first floor so Some noise can occur.
Went with Nortlander and everything Was well organized.

Thank you for your feedback. During the winter ski season Hotel Le Chamois is rented to a Danish tour operator. I am sorry that you felt the rooms were small, I feel that most of our rooms are a decent size many with balconies and great views. The doors from the rooms have been quadruple insulated to tackle any noise inconvenience.

We were due to stay as a group of 22 in December but travel restrictions meant our trip had to be cancelled just 2 days before our arrival.

However, we couldn't fault the pre departure communication and advice on ski rentals, restaurants and how accommodating the management team were to all our meal requirements.

True to their word, a full refund was swiftly received and we wish the team a busy season now the restrictions have eased. They deserve it!

Old and very dirty hotel. Especially our bathroom was bad. The water in the bathtub could not be emptied and black dirt came up from the drain into the water.
In addition, the service in the restaurant was not properly clean with food residue on the plates and coffee residue in the cups.
The room was small and very noisy, so remember earplugs (there is a bar in the basement which plays loud music all night).
There are not enough places for everyone to store their ski boots, so we had to warm the boots in the small room!
The staff appeared arrogant and unhelpful.
The only positives were a surprisingly good three-course dinner and an ok location relatively close to a pist.

Hotel that is no longer in operation, old rooms and smells of the closed, nobody and no guests in the middle of the Alpe d’Huez Triathlon, the reception who did not even know how to open the main door in the middle of the day, etc.

In short, we came here as a family to accompany Alanis Siffert, winner of the 2024 edition. In view of the rooms and the state of the hotel, we immediately looked for a plan B so that Alanis could be well for his race.

Triathletes and other passing tourists: clearly flee! The manager didn’t even bother to go and talk to us for a few minutes. We had paid a deposit of 330 EUROS which we completely lost.

Fortunately, this establishment does not represent the nice welcome of the resort and the hotel of the Polar Bear who offered us a family room.

This is no longer an active hotel.

Staff was amazing! Super friendly, knowledgeable of the area and willing to go above and beyond to help and make us feel at home. Assisted with dinner reservation
pharmacy visits and local stores.

Rooms were all spacious with beautiful balcony views and very clean.

I will definitely come back. Food was excellent, and I cannot say enough how welcoming and friendly the entire staff was!

They made the visit that much better!

Wonderful stay at the Hotel Le Chamois. Incredibly warm & friendly staff that made the stay feel like I was guest in their home.

The dinners Chef Rich and Jo served were incredible & Michelin star worthy. The presentation, innovation and taste were absolutely top shelf.

Can’t wait to come back next year!

For a cyclist…. staying at the summit of Alpe d'Huez is without equal. It is immersion in everything cycling. It is of course easier to get to other HC climbs if we stayed in Bourg d'Oisans ,,, but being from sea level Florida we wanted to stay at altitude. Mark and Catharine were most helpful.... They know everyone in town and made calls to restaurants/shops to assist us..... by the end of our stay we felt like family! Not sure they woud claim us though! Breakfast was bountiful....lots of selection... would highly recommend including it.

Fantastic food and staff were pleasant and very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Owners are English and very hands on running the business. Rooms, errr.......some capital investment is required, if you don't mind roughing it they are fine and clean enough. If you like a bit of luxury or just a modern acceptable standard of room you need to stay elsewhere

However we do feel the price of the rooms is fair and we take pride in providing accessible accommodation in our friendly family run hotel. Kind regards, Lara Murray
