We booked the "Residence" through Skiworld and found the whole experience underwhelming. Whilst the apartment was modern, well furnished and had a great view, the hotel staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. We encountered this not just at the front desk, but when we called reception (where we were told that our issue was "not as important as others they were dealing with") and when we hired skis from the hotel shop (where the equipment certainly wasn't 5 star).

Even though we paid a considerable amount of money for the 10 person apartment in the so called 5 star Residence, we were constantly made to feel like second class citizens compared to the "Hotel" guests who clearly took priority. For a five star experience, we were forced to buy our own toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, bin bags and our rooms were not cleaned once during the week. We even had to take our towels down to reception midweek for the towel change (of which we were allowed only one during the week).

Our Resort Rep was also fairly indifferent and generally unfriendly and we won't be booking with Skiworld in the near future. Not least, because our 4:45am transfer to the airport for a 10am flight meant that we had to wait at Grenoble airport for three hours.

On the plus, the location can't be beaten and the drivers that were available were always very friendly and efficient. The Residence spa, whilst not as luxurious as the main hotel spa (which was unavailable to "Residence guests"), was well equipped with sauna, swimming pool and steam room.

We've just returned from a ski vacation at Doria-I Nor at Alpe D'Huez. I stayed with my son and daughter at a cozy apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 showers, a living room, and a fully equipped kitchen. The location is great: right next to the gondola to the slopes. There are dry and wet saunas and a pool. The pool is spacious but not worm enough; we used it once and never returned for more. There is a free on-demand shuttle service which is superb: in a few minutes notice they would drop you off/ take from any location in town - awesome service. The staff is very helpful and attentive. My daughter was sick during our stay and they were very helpful, supplied the information we needed and took us to the clinique and back.

Surprised at some of the negative reviews. We had a studio apartment for two of us, one loo, one bathroom and one shower room. Also had 2 bunk beds. Room was spotless and well equipped and tons of space for 2 people. Ski lockers room excellent, I would agree with comments about foot access to the ski lift, however the complimentary bus for both drop off and pick up made that irrelevant.

The pool is nice, but they could do with a hot tub to take away these skiing aches.

Looked at hotel restaurant, but was expensive for even a ski resort, however there are enough restaurants within 10 minutes to cover all requirements.

Manageress and staff very helpful, especially like the breakfast bread delivery which is reasonably priced.

We had a room right beside the lifts which we were afraid would have been noisy, but didn't hear a thing.

Will be back.

Stayed in the Résidence apartments Daria I Noir recently. Our 4th time to Alpe Dhuez. It’s a lovely place to stay. We had the 2 bedroom apartment for family of 4. Loads of space, good kitchen area, lounge and dining area, 2 TVs, 2 toilets, 2 showers one bath, lovely and clean on arrival, room was ready when we arrived at 1.30. No check in wait They have 2 pools, you have to pay to use the spa area, but the pool that’s free is lovely. Super steam room, there is also a sauna. Just what you need after days skiing, the kids loved the pool.
The bread delivery to your door each morning is great. The Alpe Express lift is right next door to the building, just a couple of minutes from boot room up little path to side of building. Boot cupboard is good size and very warm! This lift takes to right to the Marmottes 1 lift, rifnel express, les romains and scare chair lift, also main ESF meeting area and shopping/restaurant area, lift pass office, so perfect really, no hassle at all.
The apartments we’ve stayed in on other trips here have been very basic, but good value, this place is worth the extra money!!!!!
Couple of tips from our stay, get yourself over to the pistes access via scare chair, a lot quieter than the main bowl area. Also the pistes over towards Vajaney are very quiet. Restaurant Le Roy Ladre is a pizzeria, well worth a visit, some of the larger bars/restaurants seem to throw out food quickly and isn’t always the best, the smaller family run places seem to be better. Always ring ahead to book. We used Sport 2000 rocky sports couple of minutes from building. The hotel has its own ski shop but we found it expensive so opted for elsewhere. There is a shopping area close by, bars restaurants small supermarket ski shops sledge area, just what you need close by.
These apartments are a great place to stay and it’s worth the extra money, ignore any negative comments, I guess they may of had teething problems when first opened but some people will find fault with anything! We used Sunweb, they are quite reasonable for price, includes lift pass. We will be back here at some point I’m sure. Big thumbs up

We stayed in a two bed apartment for a week ski trip. The apartment was modern with quite a funky design. It was compact, but did have decent storage space (4 one door floor to ceiling cupboards in the bedrooms and a cupboardin the entrance lobby), but we do travel light in terms of clothing. Full spec kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, large fridge, toaster and ketle, although plugs for toaster/kettle were nowhere near the work services, so had to rest them on the hob when in use. We had a bathroom and onsuite shower room, but only one toilet. The shower was huge and space could perhaps have been better used with a smaller shower and another toilet. There were no English speaking channels on the TV's. I know this is France, but in an international resort with lots of English speaking people, we thought this was odd, and despite having 'smart' TVs in the rooms, there we no apps like Netflix, and we couldn't seem to install them. Wifi however was good and free, so we watched movies on the Ipad. Welcome pack was miserly with 1 toilet roll, 3 dishwasher tablets, etc, so had to go and buy more. We had one sofa that could seat 3 people and an armchair that would fit a child but would be very uncomfortable for an adult. We could hear music from another apartment through the ventilation system. Took us a while to figure out where it was coming from, and fortunately it didn't last for long. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. All-in-all we thought the place was fine, but expensive for what it was and certainly not 5 star. There does however appear to be a lack of decent accommodation in Alpe D'Huez.

Our biggest advice though would be not to stay there during the Skideal Week, which is basically a festival run by the Israeli ski company Skideal. They promise 'wild apres ski parties' and they happen in the sports centre right next to the hotel/apartments, every night for a week until 1.30am. Sleep if you can!

The reception staffs entered my room without permission, and they charged for extra fees after
checking out showed rude attitude when discussing about the solutions. It was really awful. I cannot belive it is a 5-star hotel

We stayed at the Daria I nor residence last week for 5 days. Already at the first approach we understood that it was not a 5 star. We were at the bar waiting to have the apartment available and we waited a quarter of an hour to order a drink. When we received the apartment it was not the one booked. It had only one bathroom instead of two and was not suitable for the presence of a dog that we had anticipated we would bring with us on holiday. We were then given a new apartment. In this case there was a large portion of the carpet in the room that was wet and other parts of the apartment that were wet. Probably whoever had done the cleaning had spilled a bucket of water and had not dried it. Honestly it's not a 5 star service. The apartment was not perfectly equipped with the minimum kitchen utensils. There was no cutting board and the cutlery in the drawer was not perfectly clean. This is also not acceptable for a 5 star. The ski and boot cupboard was very small. We had three pairs of skis and boots but the apartment was for six people.. but
What if everyone skied? . The spa also had no hydromassage tub and there was no assistance, small children were present in the 80 degree sauna. This is also unacceptable. Furthermore, the spa should be an environment of relaxation and rest. In reality, being open to everyone, it was mainly frequented by noisy children. We are regular visitors to residences in ski areas and I must admit that this was the most disappointing experience, especially considering the value for money which in our opinion was too high compared to the actual quality of the
Service offered.

We stayed in this establishment for a week with a baby.
The staff is professional, available and very welcoming: attentive and eager to meet our expectations. It was appreciable.

We benefited from a beautiful and large apartment for 4 people (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and bathrooms) - decoration and furniture chosen with taste and quality.

Other forts:
- the location of the residence at the foot of the ski lifts and direct access to small shops and restaurants.
- the Alpes de d'Huez resort divided by district is on a human scale, it is also dynamic and lively.
- Super hammam (bathrobes made available to the customer), relaxation area with mountain view.

Points to improve :
- the soundproofing deserves to be rethought, although the nights are quiet.
- the organization of the relaxation area, which offers a swimming pool, a hammam and a sauna. Three promises that cannot be kept simultaneously. Indeed, children playing in the swimming pool (which gives a family dimension to the residence - and that's very good) does not allow you to really enjoy a relaxing moment.

Ultimately, we had a great week, with quality services and more than professional staff: a nature break that we recommend and will certainly repeat next winter.

Clean and quite spacious apartment, good proximity to the Alpe Express and the slopes. The staff is very friendly and available. The children enjoyed being able to enjoy the swimming pool after the day of skiing. We will come back without hesitation.

Beautiful apartment in a great location. We spent more time at home in the evenings than out! Very spacious and well equipped. Just wish access to/from the hotel with skis was easier/ less slippery! Would definitely return.
