Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Passing for the puy du fou, we received a very good reception (managing at the top). The rooms are very decent for a two star and quality breakfast with homemade pancakes and lemon marble. If I ever come back to Niort again, I'll stay at this Inn.

Hotel on a human scale. Small room but enough to sleep there. Very clean and good bedding. Breakfast quality. Hotel located at the entrance of Niort, easily accessible, quiet and comfortable despite the proximity to the main road. And to conclude, very welcome, helpful and available.

My son is in Le Grand Feu and whilst it is not the closest hotel it was the only one available when I first arrived in Niort back in November, having had a hair raising drive from Poitiers Airport , as I had never driven in France before and have not driven a car with a manual gearbox for many years. I have since been back in March 2011 and my last visit was June 2011. I have stayed in a lot of hotels all over Europe, Scandinavia and in the USA , from budget to expensive, travelling as a lone female on business and this is one of the best I have stayed in. It is a family run hotel and the husband and wife who run it are lovely and make you feel really welcome. The rooms are beautifully furnished, with a high standard of cleanliness and an ideal size if you are using the hotel as your base. Each time I stayed I had to have a late check in and they would wait up even if, as I was this last trip, 30 minures later than I had previously arranged. As a female travelling alone I can thoroughly recommend this hotel, I was well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. If you ever stay in Niort and have transport then please do consider using this hotel you will not be disappointed. If you are English they have real pillows and not those uncomfortable bolsters you find in other hotels throughout Framce. I loved the hotel and whilst I was visiting Niort under difficult circumstances I hope to go back one day and really explore the area using the Hotel Atoll as my base once again.

Stayed two nights here on the edge of Niort without problem - except actually finding the hotel....perhaps a better map would have helped.

Once there we found the hotel to be clean, tidy, basic but more than acceptable and quite cheap. Our room was simple and small but stylishly furnished - you could teach Campanile a thing or two.

The room seemed a bit smelly to start with but an open window for 15 minutes sorted this out. Most room requirements were there with the exception of kettle, cups and coffee. The shower was excellent - this from someone who regularly complains about bathroom designs and facilities - and the essential hairdryer in place for the follicly endowed.

The AC was excellent and the room felt quite comfortable and homely.

A great base for two night and cheap enough to absorb any minor criticisms.

Was really impressed with this hotel on a one night stop over coming through France this week. It's not far from the motoroway so convenient from that point of view. However if you are looking for a scenic hotel this probably wouldn't be your first choice as it is in more of an industrial area but don't let that put you off if that isn't your priority. Room was great, bed comfy, shower great. Wifi worked well too. Staff, although they didn't speak much english, were very friendly and helpful Would really recommend this. Also we booked the family room (for 4) plus a double which worked well. The family room is a twin and double room joined together - you can lock the single point of access and have the doors open between the rooms or close them so that there is more privacy between them.

Warm welcome from helpful staff; very dog friendly. Great position right next to the motorway, yet amazingly quiet. Air conditioning for those that want it (can't stand it myself). Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was €9, but included juice, bread, cakes, yoghurt, fruit, ham, cheese and even freshly boiled eggs, so not bad value. Very good coffee, considering it came out of a machine. Excellent wifi with no fussy access code to deal with. Staff recommended a restaurant for dinner and gave us a discount voucher, which was helpful. We often stay in Niort when we're travelling South from Cherbourg and we've stayed at various hotels round here in the past, including the Campanile and the Solana, but I think this is our favourite so far.

If you are looking for a budget hotel, then look no further. This is a very inexpensive hotel. The rooms are small and the bathroom tiny but, it’s clean and has all you need. The only disappointment is the wi-fi, which is pretty well non-existent. I’m not sure if this was down to bad weather, or if it’s always this bad but, I just could not get connected. The breakfast was excellent and the couple on reception were extremely helpful and a delightful couple. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a good, clean, friendly and low-cost hotel. A good stay.
