Detailed Reviews
I spent one night here. The room itself is mainly functional and clean. The bathroom is a little less functional (light switch is not by the door but next to the flush) and there are some traces of mould on the grouting, due no doubt to the lack of ventilator fan to carry away humidity, but there was enough space to put toiletries out. I had a ground floor room giving onto the parking lot but it was not particularly noisy. There were hangers and even skirt hangers in the hanging cupboard, a welcome tray with kettle, two paper cups and a range of instant coffees and tea bags. The bed was very good. Breakfast was only so-so: very cafeteria-like both in ambiance and quality of food (Lipton tea bags - possibly the worst brand out there - and thermos flasks of filter coffee rather than an espresso machine say it all). The staff I saw Sunday were pleasant.
However, I was not happy at all with the minimal information given me about getting to the hotel by public transport (not everyone arrives by car). I was told to take the tram, and which stop to get off at when I phoned but that was all - I had to look on the Bordeaux transport website to find where to change coming from the train station and which terminus line I needed to take. When I phoned to ask how to get from the tram stop to the hotel, the person I spoke to, gave me the wrong instructions leading me to walk 200m in the opposite direction before having to backtrack and wander around to find the hotel.
For anyone arriving by tram: you need to take Line B to "France-Alouette", getting down at Haut-Lévêque, and then walking back along the tram line until the roundabout and following the avenue Haut-Lévêque through the industrial estate. The Campanile is on the right.

The Pessac Campanile has had one of the makeovers they are embarking on throughout the group. The bedrooms have lost all the drab check bedcovers curtains.
The restaurant has been given a lick of paint and new furniture. Unfortunately this creates a bare, cold and uninviting space which matches the welcome from reception!
The menu has been revamped and is confusing. The food, obviously bought in as pre-prepared, is tasteless and not good.
The only good thing about the Campaniles is that they are clean, convenient and somewhere to stay on the way to somewhere nicer.

We were in transit to portugal, the room we survived but the woman at breakfast was most unfriendly ever, got completely wrong order and still talking rude. Not recommended due to bad service. This is the worst experience i ever had. Hope they will change the mentality to a more service oriented.

Sir , Thank you for taking the time to write to us, we have taken note of your opinion and we thank you for it, Following the Covid 19 measure, we ask our customers if they wish to take the BOD. You refused on your arrival given the price. We have a gauge in our establishment to limit the number of people at breakfast time And there the morning of your departure you arrive for lunch without disinfecting your hands at the entrance and wearing a mask !!! . Our restaurant is full at this time, my assistant asks you to disinfect your hands and put on a mask (and your dissatisfaction begins). She suggests that you wait a bit for lack of space and especially after you have not made a reservation on the evening of your arrival. And the Scandal on your part ... you work ... (and we?) No time to wait for you. I am delighted to see that my staff is complying with the directives of the French state in the face of Covid 19. Not the same rules certainly in Belgium or Portugal !!. A shame not to have discussed face to face together, easier to do on the net. See you soon cordially Alexander

Disappointed, does not deserve the 3 star classification. Cold reception, defective bedroom shutter, no light, sanitary facilities with mold and no toilet brush. Bedding to change because the springs hurt your back. Carpet with mold. When leaving, the receptionist openly criticized our time with another customer. Review your copy.

We arrived in Bordeaux a day early and our hotel was not available yet so we booked this through Hotwire for one hundred three bucks. I wasn’t expecting much for that price and I wasn’t disappointed. There is no way this is a 3 star hotel. The bathroom doesn’t have wash cloths or even hand towels. You’re supposed to use your bath towel to wash & dry your face, dry your hands and to dry after a shower. That’s really cheap cheap cheap. It seems clean and the staff is friendly.

We have stayed here several times before. This time on 29th December we travelled from St-Malo. Room was comfortable and warm. The restaurant!! We asked for a Kia, which was undrinkable. Food was inedible. We were given the excuse that it was still holiday time! One of the waiters had flu, and apologised. Presumably he could not take time of because he wouldn’t be paid. The staff were charming, and apologetic. It obviously was not their fault. With think twice before visiting again!

The room was not clean. I am usually not easily disgusted but it was awful. I found a poop stain on the toilet seat. If there was any other available hotel close to this and if my company was not paying, I would have left right away. Then there were hairs in the bath tub. It was clear that the bathroom was not cleaned. I have slept in worse places (e.g., even in the jungle) but most were cleaner and you don't expect this when you are in civilization and you pay 100 Euro.
It is a shame because this is easily fixed. Everything else was good. The staff were very friendly and professional. Also the dinner was surprisingly good. I did not expect much at a small place. I also went walking all over the area and found nothing close by (some things about 15 minutes away) so my suggestion is just to have dinner at the hotel. Also wifi was good. So if they can fix cleaning, I would recommend. But after this experience I am never coming back. I still have flashbacks to seeing poop on the toilet seat.

We always stay in the Campanile as we travel through France with a dog. Last night's food was just awful - and we were only refunded 15% which considering I only ate the carrots and some bread made this meal extremely expensive for what it was.
Staff were charming but one of them had the flu - what is going on ????

So I believe A10 is what I know as the E5 near Pessac. In which case yes it is easy. Junction 14 of E5 brings you off between Holiday inn and ibis hotels. and you just go straight across 1st cross roads (Holiday Inn on right) and (Ibis on left). Then about 500m further on there is a roundabout where Campanile is on far left corner. So about 2mins off motorway.
