We had an absolutely amazing time here for the rugby. Location, facilities, cleanliness, food options, activities for the kids, and we didn’t even use them all. They don’t miss a trick in French sites like this. We’re already booking for next year. It’s sooo worth the drive.

In 2022 we stayed on pitch 175b for 2 weeks and had a great time which is why we rebooked for 2023. Unfortunately when we pre-booked we could not get the same pitch or another 3 star pitch so had to resort to a 2 star pitch (197). When we arrived we discovered the park had added another 120 pitches which we were not told about. What we found was that the people in the new area used the facilities in our area (as they only had temporary facilities) & this in turn meant that toilet/shower block 2 was constantly busy. We also found that the high standard of cleanliness that we expected (as per our previous visit) was not attained and had to be reported as the shower block/toilets smelled and many were closed off.
As a result of increased numbers on site we were expecting the facilities to be enhanced however they were not and are now inadequate. The pool complex is now much too busy and unsafe. We saw many injuries this year, and the wood around the slides area is ridiculously slippery and we both fell as did others!!!
There is only one bar and only 2 people serving for 1000+ guests. All the staff do an excellent job but we can blatantly see that they are overstretched. We ate in the restaurant one night as it was excellent last year (we visited twice), unfortunately this year was not the case. Again the staff member was excellent but again running the whole restaurant and bar by himself.
Due to the lack of investment in the park (apart from the sports area), is the main reason we will not be returning next year.
Disappointing as we love the park and the area but due to the above and also the fact that they had a fire on site on the last day of our stay in August 2022 and that this hasn’t been repaired or replaced and that they have just added another 120 pitches means we won’t return until things improve, used to be a 5* resort, currently at 3-4* I would say.

+1
Brilliant site for families we had pitch 339 which was a 2 star we wanted a 3 star but they were fully booked. The pitch was good size been to bigger but was still decent and we were in the area where we had to park at the reception. At first I wasn’t sure about this however it was better as we were close to showers and the pool area.
The access to the pitch was tight thankfully I had a motor mover otherwise I would have struggled but once on no issues. It was reverse polarity.
The shower area was always clean and tidy but can get busy and end up queuing for showers but that didn’t bother me.
By 2330 the entertainment is finished and the campsite is quiet and security make sure of that which I found good to be honest loads of sites I’ve been to where people party until 2am.
The pools are decent unfortunately we didn’t get chance to use the adult only one as we had kids but they all looked clean and the slides the kids loved. Pools open at 10 and I never felt the campsite was full even though we were middle of august always had sunbeds no issues. Can’t eat around pool which is the only disappointment but I get it. Also men are not policed wearing budgie smugglers so shorts are fine.
Shop is really good and I found wasn’t that much more expensive then the supermarket down the road so for most stock from there.
We arrived late ish travelling from st Malo and has pizza that evening. They were good although a wait I would suggest ordering these at lunch for dinner and you can name a time.
The food court sold fish and chips 6 euros which I thought was a bargain for the amount you got along with other bits like sandwiches salads again all reasonably priced.
The local town is a 10 min walk away loads of restaurants and worth a visit. About 1 1/2 away is the sand dunes this is certainly worth a visit but go early gets really busy.
The beach is a good walk away and if your a surfer it’s great pure sand and can walk to town from the beach. Fireworks at night were great.
This has been the best site we have visited and we will certainly be returning. Thank you Yelloh! village

Camping relaxed, nicely situated, near the beach. Kids had a great time (13 and 17). Village Lacanau Ocean has a very relaxed vibe and offers a nice getaway from campsite. Swimming pools, animation, other facilities good. Restaurants are also nice and we enjoyed the food. Even though the campsite was fully booked, it did not feel that way. The only problem was our cabin. Cabin was not as offered, no solution in anyway (HQ alsof involved). We completely understand we cannot get a full refund or another accommodation when everything is full. But there was no understanding, any excuses at all or any other solution. You can always think of something as an organization. The only advice they gave us is to fill in the enquiry and write reviews, amazingly we were smart enough to think about that ourselves. The thing is that they admitted that we are right, they are going to change the description on the website, because there is a difference inside and outside from pictures shown and other premium Key West cabins. For us no solution though at this moment. So price/quality for our appointed cabin (K013) is not good. Fairly enough to say that we cannot judge other cabins, a lot of them look spacious and well maintained. It is a pity that Yelloh Village! lacks service in times of complaints.

Response from Karine FENIE, Directeur général at Yelloh Village Les Grands Pins
Responded 3 Aug 2021
Thank you for your review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your holiday with us. We strive to make every experience unforgettable and are overjoyed that you enjoyed the facilities and the services we offer. We try to provide something for everyone, animations for the children, our beloved restaurants where we now offer Italian and French cuisine, and of course, everyone’s favourite: Our swimming area that is now even bigger! We now have three swimming pools on the campsite and three enormous slides for thrills seekers. We are, however, very sad to hear that you had a frustrating experience with regards to your cottage. Your complaint was taken into account at the reception at your arrival. You expressed your discontentment with the physical appearance of the cottage. As we tried to explain at the time, our website is very up to date and illustrative of what each cottage is like inside. We provide photos, a blueprint of the layout, specific information about the size and the materiel inside. We do this so as to avoid any misunderstandings upon our guest’s arrival. As a result, we very rarely receive this kind of feedback. Furthermore, your cottage K013 is requested by many of our returning guests. At the reception, you requested to change cottages which was unfortunately not possible as we didn’t have any availability. You then requested a full refund, unfortunately our refund policy does not involve being discontent with the physical aspect of the cottages. We did however take your complaint very seriously, as the reception manager was informed and contacted you directly. The criticism received at this time surrounded mainly your dislike of our team and the Yelloh Village group and not much was mentioned in terms of the cottage itself. We continuously try and find solutions for all problems that are presented to us, and we encourage constructive feedback so we can improve year upon year. Despite this misunderstanding, we hope to see you again in the near future, we believe you will like our wonderful New Valley or Dune Premium cottages better. Best regards,

On arrival we were asked to follow a golf buggy to our pith, I told them we had a large double wheel base caravan with a camper tow car. they then took me down a narrow cul de sac to the very end of it and my pitch had a large tree in the middle. took me and four guys from the Netherlands 45 mins to get me on the pitch. I paid 1150 pound for al large pitch with your own toilet and shower. This the most I have ever paid for any pitch for 7 days. It was small and right on top of the next persons pitch. There had been a fire in one of the shower blocks and they had put temporary ones right behind us and there were a lot, think they had increased how many pitches they could jam in and it needed these permanently. The site is not 5 stars there is no gym apart from a shed where you can do yoga or dance. The pools where cold so no good for small children and the flumes had loads of slip hazards. also very busy. The food and drink was over priced, a cooked chicken sparrow was 20 euro pint 6 euro and the shop 3 times the price of the local supermarket. this a express which was also expensive. We booked a tennis court for 1 hour 10 euro. It took us 5 mins to get from reception and 5 mins back to hand the key the net was 3 inches high and the adjuster snapped off and surface was cracked concrete. we play at a half decent standard so it was a waste of time. The site is quite inclined in parts so no good if you have walking problems. Also the staff were mainly rude or not helpful. The only part of the entire site we liked was when we got off it and went to the beach. which was fantastic for surf or small kids who could play in the lagoons. On reading this you may think we are tight. however we paid a lot for a pitch so its not about the money. Thus you want value for money. very disappointed and the site a 3 star at best. If they give me 50 percent of my money back that is in line what I paid for the other 4 weeks we stayed and stopped at other sites. Booked a villa in Kefalonia for 8 people 1100 Euros for a week 2024. In all never been so traumatised in my life on holiday

This is our second time at the site and it is one of our favourites. The facilities are great and it’s on the beech and near the local town.
After a long drive from st malo, we arrived in the 42 degree heat only to find I lost the feet pads to the caravan on the ferry. The receptionist was brilliant and got me wood so
I could stabilise the caravan, I won’t make that mistake again.
We were quickly shown to the pitch we went for a 2 flowers. This is plenty big enough for us but families expecting a used to bigger pitches, you will find these on the smaller side but we only use it to sleep in the van. If you want a bigger pitch go 3/4 flowers. We were on the no car zone near the facilities which as a family we enjoyed.
The great thing about he site is the music and entertainment stops at around 2300 and then it’s quiet. The pitch suited our family.
The pools are great and the kids enjoyed the slides. The onsite shop is well stocked and actually cheaper than the local supermarket so we brought most of our stuff from there.
The village and entertainment I thought was good. Happy hour was good too. I found the food on site decent and well priced fish and chip come 7.5 euros and average pizza 12 euros and they were good.
We ate on the site restaurant which is grill
Restaurant and the food was good.
The location is good right on the beech and we were there during the surf championships so
The town was busy with loads of restaurants and shops. If your good surfer this is ideal for you we hired a board from the on site school for 10 euros and it was fun.
Overall this is great site for families thanks for a great 11 nights.

WC and shower facilities miles away. Expensive and really not worth the money unfortunately.
Children playing noisily until midnight in apparent “quiet zone”
Wrong key provided for water
Flooded drains
…and all for 60 euros a night on a basic pitch

We love this place. We have been coming for over 20 years and every year there are upgrades that make it better and better. It’s clean, tidy and so much to do. In the morning the camp is filled with the smell of the boulangerie which is just next to the shop. The main square has a bar, crepe and ice cream parlour, pizza place and a restaurant. For kids there is the pool with slides, soft play and park as well as the kids club and disco in the evening. The camp is right near the beach, and offer surf classes to those that want. You can hire bedding, towels and baby equipment for those not driving (like us). We would never go anywhere else. We have a family with four adults, two teenagers, and three under 7 and we all have an amazing time. Every year!

Beautiful location, fantastic facilities .... beach is a 10 minute walk off the site to the beach stunning! Lots of options for surf hire in the area. The nearby lakes are wonderful and you can do everything from kitesurfing to waterskiing to hiring pedalos. The bike routes around the area are amazing. I think we may have found our go to for the next few summers...
Accommodation options are pricey, but I guess the location is what you are paying for here. We did take a ride around the camping area and if you fancy camping then the site looked great also, clearly much cheaper option!
The entertainment was a decent calibre and our 7 year old enjoyed most of what was on offer. The pool complex is varied and when needed the heated pools would be a great plus point!
Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

The yelloh village is a great place, well placed and very tidy - enjoy very much the whole week. The only thing which I can criticize is the restaurant La Giulieta. We ordered the pasta carbonara and it was just awful. It is the first time I had such awful pastas - loaded on pepper and no bacon (just ham). Would strongly recommend avoiding it.
