Prama Sanur Beach Bali is celebrated for its prime beachfront location and vibrant atmosphere, complete with live music and evening entertainment. The spacious rooms have been appreciated by many guests for their comfort, though some have highlighted a need for refurbishment and raised concerns about cleanliness. The hotel's amenities, including multiple pools and entertainment options, are generally well-received, though again, mentions of required updates are not uncommon.
Service at the hotel stands out, with staff members earning praise for their attentiveness and efficiency. However, the value is somewhat marred by additional costs and aging facilities.

Pleasantly surprised upon arrival with this hotel
Nice big driveway with security at the top
Big, beautiful lobby
Check in was quick (probably too quick)
Our room wasn’t ready so our bags were stored for us and we were told to go to the beach (we had no idea where this was or even what direction to head!)
We weren’t told any info like how many restaurants on site, where to go for breakfast, daily activities etc - had we been told more info we may have spent more time & money at the hotel...)
We headed back out the driveway and discovered a great place for lunch (The Strait - (Will review shortly!)
Came back and checked in and the room was reasonably sized, clean and cool
Great aircon
Housekeeping and conceriege staff (Yoga) were exceptional as well as the cheery man at breakfast at the egg station
Breakfast had a huge selection of breads, sweets, eggs, Indonesian cuisine, fruit, salad, meats etc
Got in trouble for filling a small water bottle at breakfast as water is to be consumed there.. even though the on site gym has a dispenser you could easily fill anything up with
Gym is small but has most things you need to work up a serious sweat including weights, treadmill, bike, elliptical, squat machine and other cable machines
Showers in gym section can be used if you have a late flight out like we did
Pool is huge
Also there is a separate kids pool with attractions for the kids
Bike hire on site (seemed expensive)
Water sports nearby
Hotel is beachfront but the beach isn’t the best, lots of rocks/coral so probably best to pack beach shoes or stick to the pool
If you do head down the beach track you will get hassled by a LOT of shop owners
Happy hour is great and cocktails are yummy
Didn’t use the restaurant otherwise
Money changer on site rate was ok
ATM on site

Overall, this is still a great resort option and the beachfront location is tough to beat. We took a club room for 5 nights between 1-6 Jan. Check in was a breeze. Air con in room was not functioning as intended despite us giving it plenty of time to cool. We were moved to another room at 10pm on first evening when we realised there was no chance of decent sleep in that warm room.
We were again moved to another room the following day as the room we slept in was twin bedded, not the king bed room we booked. Turns out we were allocated the same room as last stay, room 150 where the air con was working fabulously.
Re rooms, the only other complaint I have is that a family of 5 (4 children) were put in the room directly above us. We could hear running footsteps constantly. I reported this to reception who had the manager speak to the occupants above. Then at 7am the following morning we were awoken by the sound of running and constant foot stomps directly above, so it turns out the manager speaking with the occupants the evening prior was a fruitless exercise. 5 people including 4 children should never have been put in a club room directly above other guests in the first instance. So our worst fears were realised when we were woken by what we could see coming from a mile away, despite us doing everything possible in conjunction with the front desk to avoid it.
The food and beverage offering in club lounge/cafe is OK nothing spectacular and literally the same offering each day. Service was only luke warm, much unlike our previous stays. The idea of rotating staff to other areas of the resort is comendable but only if those staff are suited to the club lounge/cafe.
The established gardens and grounds are well taken care of however the main pool umbrellas are becoming an embarrassment. Just about all of them are broken in some way, all of them are worn out, all of them are dirty and discoloured. I really don't know how much longer they think they can hold out replacing them. It would give the pool area a much needed lift and new lease of life.
Something else I want to mention is that in all the stays we've had at Prama, unlike many other properties where we are multiple time repeat guests, the Hotel manager has not ever taken the time to introduce themselves or to speak with us for any feedback, despite us being in a perfect position to offer this.
I correlate the slipping of standards with lack of proactive action on the feedback front.
I will end by stating that the front office staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble in their endeavor to help ensure you have a great stay.

Our friends suggested we stay in Sanur and they recommended this hotel as it is away from the chaos of other Bali locations. I found it too quiet and our teenage children wanted to shop and the shopping in Sanur was limited. We had to travel to Legian to get everything on their shopping list. I also found the options for dining outside the hotel were limited. Possibly because I have previously stayed at Legian and Seminyak where the options are plentiful. I was also surprised that the curtains in the room were not block out. If you are a sleeper who likes a dark room when the sun comes up, this hotel is not for you. Pools were great and breakfast was very good. There is a shuttle bus into Sanur which is helpful on very hot days. Bamboo Bar on the beach is a lovely location but they insist on having live music every night that is so loud you can't really talk. Not a place to chill and watch the sunset with the music. Bar food was good and the kids loved the pizzas.

The Hotel is old and dated and desperately needs a renovation. It appears that some of the bathrooms have been upgraded. After correspondence with the hotel via the booking agent we were assured that all the showers were walk-in ones only to end up with an "upgrade" to a suite with a tiny bath and the shower in the bath! To crown it all we were both a head and shoulders taller than the shower!! Apparently they didn't have ocean view rooms left with double beds. Whatever happened to pushing 2 beds together?
The sun loungers or the lack of availability was extremely annoying! By 6 am every morning the Dutch visitors had put their towels on the loungers at both the pool and the beach! This has happened 3 of the 4 times we have stayed at the Prama.
The breakfast is good but the service is slow, especially at the egg station where there is never more than 2 people on duty, but usually only 1. The selection of food is good.
The pools are probably the best in the area but the slippery, cracked tiles around the pool are a serious hazard!
All said, this hotel is no longer a 5-star hotel!

My family and I stayed at the Prama over the Christmas/New Year period. This hotel is huge and i don't think the photos online do it justice as to just how big it is!!
The location of the hotel is great, situated on the beach and in walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The main pool is one of the biggest pools I've ever seen at a hotel and the kids pool is amazing with fountains, water slides and a massive bucket that tips and pours water over anyone in its way once it is full. It's also suitable for babies who can crawl in the shallow parts of the pool and through a tunnel of sprinklers!! There are also plenty of sun loungers and day beds by both pools and on the beach for everyone.
We stayed in in a Deluxe Sea View Room over looking the main pool and beach. Yes it was a bit outdated but the room was very spacious, clean and had a large balcony. It was lovely being able to sit on the balcony each morning to feed our toddler breakfast. We found the bar and restaurants were overpriced for Bali and the food average so we mainly ate at other restaurants in Sanur.
I was very impressed that Santa came to visit, via jet ski, and hand out presents to all the kids on Christmas Day and we had a great time New Years Eve at the Bamboo Restaurant where they had a great DJ and a big party on the beach!!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sanur and say definitely get a Sea view Room!!

The pictures don't look the same in real life. The hotel and rooms are very old, it really needs an update. The bathroom needs a proper cleaning, lots of water stains (scale). It is also very tiny! The housekeeping often forgot to fill up the amenities. The wifi connection is horrible.
There are not enough sunbeds outside at the big pool and beach, you have to be early to find a decent sunbed.
Breakfast is fine, lots of choice. The coffee machines are very slow though, it takes about 5 minutes for 1 cup of coffee...
If you don't like big resorts and old stuff, dont book this hotel. Definately not a 5 star hotel. We had much better 3 star hotels in Indonesia or Asia before.

this is a great place to stay in Sanur, we felt at home from the minute we entered the property.
some of the rooms and corridors are getting a little tired, apart from that the hotel is good value especially if you pick it up on a special deal.
anyone that is dissapointed by the breakfast here must be hard to please as it is one of the best i have had in Bali. The Bamboo bar on the beach is great to for a late night cap before bed.
close proximity to great restaurants both along the beach walk and the road there is something that would satisfy everyone's tastes.
we cant wait to return for another stay here.

My recent stay at the Prama beach Resort was an ejoyable experience, Dodic who cleaned my room each day was very helpful and always ready to answer any questions that I may ask, the room was a comfortable size, however the bathroom was very small particularly the shower although as I was on my own it didn't pose a great problem for me. The gym was well equiped and I enjoyed working out there. The pools were very clean the only down side was people putting towels and belonging on the chairs to reserve them and when they did arrive occupied them all day, coming and going, although tjhe signs said not to resertve them or the staff will take the gear to the towel station for you to collect. However this was not policed and was very frustrating when wanting to go for a swim and nowhere to leave your towel and keys etc. The Bamboo bar was very good and the staff always friendly. Food was also excellet there. There were a large contingent of Dutch people there and as such my communication was with the Balinese staff. I did hire a dfriver on one occassion and he was extremely helpful and he spoke good english, nothing was too much trouble. Name was Ketut Sukrawan +62 817472 1863 highly recommend him. Cheers Barry

Usually this place was already quiet, but during the pandemic it’s really really quiet. When I come they only operate the main building, the other wings was closed for efficiency.
But for you who love calmness, this place was good. The room still well maintained and room service also still available, the hotel bar called bamboo bar only open until 9pm. But you may find another bar just in front of the hotel by walk.
Forgot to bring slipper? Don’t worry they have it in your closet. The cons only some rooms have problem issued with the A/C controller, so the temperature didn’t measure well.

My daughter (6) and I stayed here for 3 nights on a long weekend and she LOVED it. It was the perfect resort for kids with a waterslide park, kids pools, and a kids club that was open 10-1 and 2-5. I thought my daughter would be too old for the club, which looked small, but the woman working there, Nita, was amazing and my daughter loved the 1:1 attention. They played cards, drew, played board games, rode bikes, etc... She did everything she could to play with her, not just stick her in front of the TV. Really, it was great (and free! although I did tip Nita because she was so awesome).
Anyway, the room was OK, nothing special but we didn't spend much time there. Nice balcony.
As for the food, WOW. Breakfast was great, I expected that, but the best surprise was the on site restaurants. We ate at the Italian place once, and the Indoneisan restaurant twice and they were both incredible meals, AND CHEAP. I normally don't eat at resorts because it's stuffy and/or expensive, but these restaurants were truly amazing. Everything I ate was delicious. I had tuna at the Italian place, which was the most expensive thing I bought at Rp 190, but totally worth it! Along with a great Minestrone soup and Caprese salad. At the Indonesian place, I had lemongrass fish for Rp 65k that I could not stop thinking about all the next day. ... I had to talk myself out of ordering it twice and the second night went for the Lamb Rendgang (Rp 70k) which was cooked so perfectly it fell apart in your mouth instantly!
So, to sum it up, the activities were great, the food was phenominal, and the overall stay was awesome! Quick to get there from the airport and a cute, easy town to walk around it. Lots of beach activities and swimable ocean with no waves. Absolutely great for kids, I will totally be back there! (Also had a band each night on the beach but they ended at a reasonable time and didn't keep us up at all. Good for a drink or two.).
