My only hesitation in giving this hotel 5 stars was that it truly deserves 6 stars. This small boutique style family run hotel in the city of Sulmona, about 1 1/2-2 hrs east of Rome , is a hidden gem. We were checked in by GianLucca, who spoke impeccable English and could not be more helpful.
We went to visit the city of cSulmona as it is my brides great grandfather birthplace. Traditional remains very strong in her blood. GianLucca went out of his way for us at every turn for us, making our dinner reservations at a beautiful little restaurant in the middle of town and recommending the best confetti store. Sulmona is known for its confetti, and for good reason. He told her he will check the City’s records after we left to see what he could find out about her great-grandfather. Tell me where else you can find hospitality like that anywhere?
The hotel is immaculate, cozy, classy, comfortable and the rooms spacious. You can immediately see that the owners pride themselves on paying attention to the little details and making the experience for their guests a top priority.
Breakfast was delicious in a small private room off of the lobby. While GianLucca’s mother did not speak English she was warm, gracious and made great cappuccino.
The beautiful gold emblem/ monogram HR is throughout the hotel, from the pearl and emerald colored marbled floors to the towels, pillows, and linens.
The hotel is very reasonably priced and just the right balance between classy and comfortable. It was also nice that they have room safes and refrigerators in the guest rooms.
Sulmona is as authentic of an Italian city surrounded by beautiful mountains as it gets. The food was delicious and the people friendly. If you visit Sulmona, which you should, this hotel is the place to stay.

Outstanding. Everything. This hotel is family run and has the most amazing customer service which began before we even arrived. The room I booked was on an upper floor with a low, sloped roof, they messaged us and verified this would be what we wanted. They coordinated laundry service for us, listened to us explain where we had been, and what interested us, and then helped develop the sights that matched that experience. I would highly recommend this property and the truly warm and sincere management and their customer focus.

Hotel Rohan is a lovely boutique hotel in the centre of Sulmona. The rooms are comfortable, nicely decorated and had been carefully cleaned to take care of Covid. But what makes it special is the warm welcome from Angela and the care she takes to make sure you make the most of your stay not just at the hotel but also to explore the region optimally. She speaks excellent English. She crafted custom touring itineraries for us each day so we got to go to places that are not mentioned in the guide books and which were lovely. And of course recommended restaurants in the town. All her recommendations were outstanding. Her directions are clear. She’s always happy to help. Breakfast was served in our room and the croissants and home made jams were great. I would definitely strongly recommend staying here and hope to return.

Hotel Rojan is a beautiful hotel. My wife and I travel with our 6 year old and had an amazing time at this hotel. The room was big, comfortable and super clean, it counts with a refrigerator and a mini bar, room service and a desk if you need to do some work. Breakfast included. Also, the bathroom was spacious super clean and with everything you need if you arrive late. The Hotel is centrally located in Sulmona witch means you never have to drive, you can park your car and forget about it until you need to leave. Gianluca and Angela were awesome, super friendly and super helpful. They were always happy, polite and willing to help in any way they could. They provide a ton of good information on local activities and amazing restaurants in the area. We were very pleased with this hotel and we will definitely recommend it as well as staying again when we go back to Sulmona.

We spent two nights in the family-run Hotel Rojan and had a superior room with two large windows and beautiful views of the church tower. The hotel is super central yet very quiet in a side street without traffic. Not only the cleanliness of the rooms as well as the hotel in general should be emphasized, but also the rich breakfast. With every detail you immediately notice clearly that the well-being of their guests is a matter of heart to the hosts. In addition, we were supported with advice and assistance with restaurant visits and tour planning. Sulmona is a lovely little town and offers many excursions to the mountainous surroundings, both in summer and in winter. Last but not least Gianluca drove us with his own car to the station because there was no taxi! We already know that we would love to go back here.

a familiar and kind place where we felt welcomed and pampered. Cleanliness, comfort and support were the main characteristics of this beautiful stay.
Gianluca was really special for his availability and kindness, he created visit itineraries suitable for us and directed us in the best way to purchase sugared almonds and garlic :-). we will definitely return to the Rojan Hotel on our next visits to Abruzzo.

We stayed at the Hotel Rojan in August and it was wonderful. Jean Luca and his sister Angela were outstanding. The room was clean and so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with fruit, rolls, cakes and meats and cheese. There was a delicious egg frittata.
I can not praise the Hotel Rajan enough. Delightful hotel.
The brother and sister were so helpful and answered all our questions about visiting. Sulmona is so full of history and the people warm and kind . When we left both brother and sister gave us a warm send off.

This is a fantastic family run hotel in a charming, historic town. The hotel is run by a brother and sister, along with their mother. They were all three very friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located in the historic center of the town. Our room was very clean and quiet. Breakfasts were excellent! The hosts suggested restaurants where we could eat and made reservations for us, and also suggested hiking trails and activities in nearby Majella National Park. The town is near a historic village, Pacentro, where we visited a castle and went on a hike above the town, and twice ate lunch at a fantastic restaurant. We also drove up to a mountain pass above Pacentro and went for a walk in an alpine meadow. This is a truly beautiful area of Abruzzo to visit, and I strongly recommend this wonderful hotel.

We had a memorable stay in Sulmona, an elegant and atmospheric town in Abruzzo. The hotel proprietor Gianluca went out of his way to impart the warm hospitality of the Abruzzese. He moved his own car to help with parking, rang restaurants to secure bookings and designed a driving route through some extraordinarily picturesque villages and forest. The hotel was very comfortable, modestly priced and superbly positioned beside the statue of Ovid. We wouldn’t hesitate to visit this dramatic but understated region of Italy again and we recommend Hotel Rojan.

I’ve never stayed at a hotel where I’ve felt so comfortable that I haven’t wanted to leave, until we stayed at Hotel Rojan. The hotel is located on a quiet little street within walking distance of everything in the center of Sulmona, which is why we booked it. The location is great. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfasts and our morning cappuccinos were delicious. More than that though, the people who own and run the hotel are some of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Our stay in Abruzzo would have been very different without their advice and recommendations for restaurants and day trips, complete with maps and notes. We saw so much of the area, which is incredibly beautiful. What a memorable trip. We were leaving friends when we checked out to go home. Thank you so very much, Gianluca, Angela and your mother, Rosanna. We hope to see you again.

Good morning,
we're 5 minutes far from there by car. If you tell us exactly your arrival time it's available the service shuttle from the hotel to pick up you, or if you want we can call a taxi for you.
If you'll arrive by Rome or airport is available the service shuttle directly from there ( for further informations or cost we're at your disposal) or if you prefer you can take a bus instead the train, it's faster.
Best regards.
The bests restaurants that we raccomanded are:
Gino (it's a very good restaurant but it's opened just for lunch)
Locanda dell'Arco tipical trattoria
Clemente good restaurant
