We stayed in the annex of the Stella Alpina with Neilson Holidays as a young couple in January of this year. Despite other reviews saying the Annex wasn't to the same standard, we found the room to be spacious, comfortable and clean. Plenty of hot water, towels replaced mid week and extra blankets and pillows available.
Breakfast was until 9, and we were always close to the wire, but it was never an issue with the staff. Food was great for us - basic cereals, pastries, and continental cheeses etc. Dinners were different every night, 2 courses with 2 choices per course given the day before. We always found something we liked, and there was plenty of salad, breads and meats to have before.
The BEST thing about this hotel is the fact that we could keep our skis below the hotel, in the Eydallin Sport Shop where we hired them for a very reasonable price. This meant that we just popped down, grabbed our skis and jumped on the magic carpet up to the Clotes Lift. Truly fantastic location!
We had a wonderful experience and would like to thank Caroline and her staff for being so accommodating and friendly - unbelievably hard working and Caroline answered all questions we had and provided great conversation in the hotel bar. Would (and have) recommended the hotel to everyone we know.
Blessed with the weather, and the wonderful Neilson team - really hoping to be back.

Stayed for a week on a last minute Neilson skiing holiday. Hotel is fantastically located at the foot of the piste (red run) and next door to a ski hire shop where each hotel room has a dedicated storage space in the heated drying room. Staff were genuinely lovely and really helpful. The hotel bar was cosy and perfect for low-key apres-ski with a great selection of complimentary nibbles served. Our family room consisted of 2 separate bedrooms with a shower room. Room was basic but cosy and immaculately clean with handy radiators in both rooms for drying gloves, thermals etc. Good buffet breakfast, dinner comprised salad bar, pasta or soup course, main course and pudding. Meals were tasty, substantial and clearly home-made. When the options weren’t suitable for our fussy children, they were offered a pasta or meat alternative. Would definitely recommend this hotel for an easy family skiing holiday.

Just returned from Italy on a skiing trip. We stayed at the Stella Alpina. Hosted by Caroline, we had an excellent stay. The hotel is brilliantly situated at the bottom of a ski lift and close to the Sportina lift in Sauze D'Oulx at the higher (centre) of town. The hotel was welcoming with a vibrant and lively bar which was really well priced, serving all manner of drinks and food. The rooms were spacious, warm, secure and very clean. To make it even better we had great water pressure in the shower. Our ski equipment was stored in the family-run shop immediately adjacent. What really set the hotel apart from others in European ski resorts was the level of service. All of the staff were personable, professional, courteous and very helpful. All of the staff spoke English. Caroline, the hotel owner couldn't have been nicer. Genuinely engaged with her guests. Nothing was too much trouble and she was more than happy to go above and beyond for our party. She took an interest in what we said and did on our holiday and it makes all the difference! Personally, I couldn't fault it. I expect good service and that was exactly what we got. Speaking with many of the other guests of an evening, the majority were returning guests- ....says it all.

Had a wonderful week here with my extended family.
Great location, good food, lovely In-House bar and comfortable rooms.
Caroline and her team of staff were excellent and very accommodating. The ski shop next door owned by Caroline’s husband was superb and provided the best “boot room “ I have used in 30+ years of skiing.
Altogether this Hotel provides a great base in the superb resort of Sauze d’Oulx.
The only criticism I have about Sauze is that the lift system is antiquated and crying out for major investment.

Many thanks for your lovely review. We all agree about the lift system, the only upside is that is very reasonably priced compared to other resorts. Hope to see you again

The Stella Alpina is a fantastic hotel located at the bottom of the “Clotes” lift. Skiing to the door, with their ski shop and ski room right next door to the hotel, it couldn’t be more convenient.
The hotel rooms are modern and beautifully furnished, “The Scotch Bar” in the hotel is great place to relax after a day on the slopes, meeting old friends and making new. Excellent food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. However what really makes the hotel is Caroline who’s always there with a smile, makes you feel so welcome and nothing is to much trouble. Fabio and Elizabetha in the Scotch Bar are stars. And lastly all Carolines colleagues at Stella Alpina who make it a special hotel.
Thank you and looking forward to seeing you all next year.

Great location at the bottom of the home run, apres-ski bar, lovely rooms and food, run by the efficient & friendly Caroline. Staff in the dinning room looked after our small group (8 most of the time - they won't take anything much bigger than this) with smiles and attention. The only complaint came regarding the noise levels if staying in the annex - the bins were located close by. Caroline is refurbishing the bedrooms and we had a bathroom to die for.

Fantastic hotel! The location is perfect right at the bottom of the Clotes lift and close to the centre of town. The rooms & bar have all been recently renovated to a very high standard, very cosy and immaculately clean. Caroline and her team were all lovely, welcoming and helpful. Caroline arranged our airport transfers & lift passes very easily which was great and made everything very straightforward for our arrival. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone.

Thanks for a wonderful stay.

This was our third stay at the Stella Alpina Hotel but the first since the excellent refurb and renovation. The new work carried out on the hotel was impressive and our rooms were very comfortable, well decorated in keeping with the Alpine theme. The beds were extremely comfortable and we all had a lovely nights sleep after our busy days on the piste. This hotel is ideally placed for ski in/out with the chair a short walk away. The food was generally good with the pasta dishes being the biggest hit with our group. Perhaps the pasta could be served up as a main instead of starter with either Bruschetta or garlic bread as a suggestion. Caroline was marvelous as usual arranging taxi transfers and ski passes and always welcoming in her approach. The new Scotch Bar in the hotel was nicely and tastefully refurbished and was also a hit with our group, spending a few evenings having some sociable drinks and playing games etc. All in all a very enjoyable holiday thanks to Caroline, her family and hard working staff. We hope to be back soon.

Stayed here with friends end of January stayed in the annex 7 lads. The hotel couldn’t have been better situated ski more or less to the door.

Food in the hotel was lovely evening meals were the highlight, breakfast was typically continental ( would have liked something warm) but on the whole good.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming and always polite. Would I return.... Absolutely!! Give it a try you will not be disappointed!

Had the pleasure of staying for a week in January 2023, half board. My son is ceoliac so requires gluten free food. Caroline and her team have created a beautiful hotel in a superb location. The team are friendly and willing to go above and beyond.....even arranging gluten free pizza for my son to enjoy at 4.30 when he came off the slopes a few of the evenings. I highly recommend Hotel Stella Alpina, we have booked for next year's ski holiday!
