After delayed for 2 years due to covid finally had a chance to visit the property and we had an excellent stay. The WOW room had all the amenities you would need and was very large and had a large balcony with great view. What really stood apart at this hotel is the service. Everyone we encountered were very helpful and friendly. The owner Margherita was great to deal with as well and genuine at heart. Breakfast had a great variety of options and the view from the restaurant was amazing. Would stay again when visiting Positano.
Hotel Poseidon receives so many glowing reviews that a reader may be tempted to question their legitimacy. Please believe them. Poseidon delivers big time in all the ways that matter to visitors to Positano. It is situated ideally, providing the classic vantage point over the town and the sea ( a couple of its top competitors are not only a bit snooty but primarily overlook the sea only). Every time one is at the pool or at a meal, what makes Positano special washes over you. And it is located quite close to the best shops, just the right distance from the beach while away from the crowds. The rooms are spacious and kept immaculately clean. The food at Il Tridente, both breakfast and dinner, is outstanding ( a few dishes crop up consistently on menus of esteemed restaurants in Positano and Capri, Il Tridente made them best). The service is solicitous and thoughtful throughout the property. The concierge service — booking restaurants, advising on excursions, recommending shops — is almost shockingly excellent. There are higher priced hotel options in Positano, but none offers the combination of attributes of Hotel Poseidon.…
Cannot say enough good things about this hotel! The location is perfect, the staff were all so friendly and helpful, the rooftop pool, the restaurant, the breakfast buffet, the cocktails at the pool and the views!!! Highly recommend!
I can’t think of a single thing to criticize the hotel except I’m not sure if the recycle. I’m not exaggerating. It’s perfect. We were welcomed into a large hotel room will fresh flowers and lovely antiques. The room had an excellent shower and a large bathtub. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, but if you didn’t think so, they would change the softness or the firmness for you. The view from our large balcony spanned from the mountains to the sea. The service was excellent. We never waited for a thing and they would not let us even take our luggage down when we left. The breakfast buffet leaves you wanting for nothing. The cocktails and the coffee by the pool - delicious always. The hotel is 319 steps down to the beach (not a lot in Positano). They provided complimentary beach bags (souvenir), towels, and flip-flops for the beach or a boat trip. In addition to antiques an unique decor, the hotel has the oldest elevator in all of Positano- A quaint little wooden box with glass doors you open and close yourself. But even staying on the fourth floor, we often took the stairs – easy to manage and beautiful.…
I stayed here for 3 nights. The "Wow" room was as the name implies! Hotel is strategically placed within short walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beach. The communication from the booking staff was great. Thank you Marco and Margherita. We also received great advice for tours and restaurants from the front desk personnel.
Only choose this hotel if you appreciate PERFECTION. First the physical attributes... the location is perfect - street level (a huge deal) and a short walk to shops, the beach, restaurants, ferry, etc...the accommodations are perfect with the most incredible large private patio off of your room - sleep with the doors wide open to get the breeze and salt air. The pool, patio, and restaurant are as good a combination of views, relaxation, and indulgence that you can find anywhere. The above description is accurate and nice, but what makes this family run hotel truly special are the people and I cannot stress this enough. Four years later, many of the same faces. Their attentiveness to every detail and willingness to make your stay memorable are at the forefront of every interaction. As an example, my young adult daughter was very sick for the first 2 days - they arranged an in room doctor visit and sent Margo from the front desk to interpret - invaluable! While on the patio, Luca and Dash ensure that you are pampered, 'read the room' and are savvy enough to understand when to engage in a friendly conversation and when to allow you to enjoy more private quiet moments. Liliana responds promptly to every email and request needed. It appears to be an unwritten theme at this hotel - something many hotels strive for but few achieve - leave the guests in love with the hotel, the people, the service, and the overall experience. Honestly, our ONLY OPTION when visiting Positano (twice now, with more in the future).…
If you are looking for a hotel in Positano, don’t look any further. We stayed at Hotel Poseidon and were extremely grateful for the warm hospitality. The hotel is very pretty and unique. We were lucky enough to have a drink on the deck which was pure heaven. The view is breathtaking. However, for us, we will always remember the warm hospitality we experienced both before arrival and during our stay. Thank you to everyone at the Hotel Poseidon for welcoming us. We hope to return.
The view from the hotel and our room’s balcony were incredible. The best. The hotel was impeccable. Service was outstanding. Everyone was very professional, polite, friendly and helpful. Location was great. Would love to return to stay here again in the future.
We are here with our family and love the view and the amazing staff at the hotel. Unfortunately, for the last two nights we’ve been woken up to loud partying and people vomiting in the rooms next to us. The room next to us was packed with 6 20 somethings who have no regard for the rest of the hotel. We notified the front desk but we’re told there was nothing g they could do that the hotel was full. Outside of the other guests, the hotel is beautiful and very close to all restaurants and shops in Positano
We ended our Italy vacation in Positano and it was a wonderful ending! We had contacted the hotel to add our son (college student studying in Florence) at the last minute and they graciously helped us with the change. Upon arrival we were promptly met, luggage handled and car parked quickly. We entered the beautiful reception area and were greeted warmly by Josie. We were given a chance to upgrade for a reasonable rate to a suite with a spectacular balcony and view! Margot graciously gave us a tour of the hotel and room options, as Josie had another guest to help. We had a reservation the first night at the hotel restaurant the Tridente. We were seated promptly at a beautiful table with an amazing view. The wait staff were impeccable and the food was fabulous! The entire experience was amazing! Breakfast was again a wonderful experience with fresh omelettes, pancakes and mimosas. All fresh and fabulous food! When leaving the hotel each day, we were always acknowledged and greeted warmly by both ladies as well as Giancarlo and Firenze (sorry if I got the spelling wrong). We needed a Covid test on our last day and planned to stop in town at a pharmacy when I explained to Firenze, he recommended a pharmacy closer and called ahead for us. Again amazing service by the hotel and the recommended pharmacist. This hotel and staff were incredible!! I would absolutely recommend this hotel and I hope one day to visit again.…
