I really enjoyed my 1 night stay in the suite #33. The room was large and beautiful, with a wonderful balcony overlooking the town below. The room also has a loft with a small bed that my son used. The owner was a very friendly man. The location is steps from the main piazza of the town. Parking (included in the rate) is close by but still requires a bit of a walk over cobblestone streets with luggage. A couple of things brought down my rating from 5 points to 4: 1) I was approached, in not really a friendly manner by the co-owner (the man's wife) who was upset that I had my son in the room. I had booked via email and was quoted a price of €180 for a loft room with 2 beds. She wanted an additional €20 for the 3rd person? The room is meant for 3! That was very uncomfortable, made me feel like I was trying to get over on her. 2) Breakfast was not included in the rate. It's fine if that's their policy, but for €200 I feel they could give us a few complementary croissants. So overall I had a great 1-night stay and a couple of improvements could have earned the full 5 points from me.…
We had a wonderful stay at Mueble Il Riccio. Beautiful rooms, with a huge balcony/ patio, with wonderful views. Ivana & Giorgio were wonderful hosts, & made us feel like family. We became close in just a short time. Property right in the town center, & perfect. Highly recommended property, & my family looks forward to definitely returning. We will miss them. Grazie mille Ivana & Giorgio! Emilio Giovanni Iacch (USA)
We stayed 4 nights at Il Riccio. The location was perfect, right at the square and surrounded by all of the restaurants, wine stores, and shops-all within a short walk. Our view from the room was spectacular. Giorgio and Ivana were perfect hosts. We could not have enjoyed our stay more. Montepulciano was absolutely beautiful and located close to other major cities (Siena, Montalcino, Pienza, etc). I would recommend Il Riccio without hesitation.
A fabulous place where we instantly felt at home. We had a great room with a view over the valley - even though it rained the owners made us feel welcome and homely. A great breakfast. Super helpful with booking a taxi to Chiusi. Wonderful - we want to come back soon!
I absolutely loved our stay here. The owner was so kind and welcoming and provided excellent service you rarely see these days. The rooms were comfortable and we could not get over the absolute beauty of the view from our bedroom window (room #4). Breakfast was 8 euro and completely worth it. They had homemade pastries and baked goods to choose from, cappuccinos, fresh fruit juice, and a spread of cheese, prosciutto and bread. Best 8 euro breakfast ever. The town is quaint and the people are lovely. We only stayed one night but we highly recommend it. This hotel has been in their family for generations and it felt good to support their family owned business. Hedgehogs galore decorate the hotel which added to it's charm.
