Taking a trip to Italy this summer and additional challenges, but Stephania's villa made it all worth it. This was our 8th trip to Italy and we were celebrating a special birthday. This was the perfect place to spend our vacation. The property is gorgeous- peaceful, immaculate well decorated rooms, and the best host. Stephania helped with easy tasks (dinner reservations) and hard tasks (car trouble and airline COVID test appointments). She is committed to providing the best experience in this beautiful country. How lucky were we to find the gem of a property and person.

Villa Poggiano is a true luxury villa in the Tuscany hills close to Montepulciano. We got this home feeling (wish it was true) from the house and the hostess you seldom get when you visit a boutique hotel. Everything was excellent. The location, the spacious room, the pool, the breakfast. We had a great and extraordinary stay.

We spent six nights in the Villa Poggiano while visiting this part of Tuscany. The location is convenient to visit key points of interest in the region (Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Perugia, Assisi...). The place is beautiful and the suite we had was spacious and offered all expected amenities. Breakfast was fine too. All in all, we had an enjoyable experience.

How lucky we feel and grateful we are that we were able to stay at Villa Poggiano from 16th June onwards. We are returning guests to the Villa. Knowing the fantastic care of Stefania and her staff for her guests, the spacious grounds of the Villa, its garden, terraces and pool area with ample seating and sunbathing possibilities, we had not a single doubt about staying at Villa Poggiano in these strange global Covid-19 times. We wanted to exchange our home only for a place where we feel equally comfortable in. Villa Poggiano is such a place. Safety and sanitary measures were in place, and the breakfast buffet was replaced by a breakfast menu, serviced at table. What a breakfast feast it was! Small lunches can be easily served or dinners delivered when guests want to stay at the property. We felt very safe and relaxed in ‘our Tuscan home’. Thank you Stefania, Lucia, and everyone at Villa Poggiano for yet another wonderful stay. Surely the atmosphere in Montepulciano town and surroundings is much quieter than at ’normal times’, but it is gradually picking up. We were inspired by the positivity of its citizens in these challenging times, and we were impressed and reassured by the generally strict adherence to health and safety measures (including face-masks, sanitisation). We felt more at ease when walking and eating in Montepulciano than we would be in most of our Belgian towns and cities. Grazie mille !

We recently spent 4 nights at Villa Poggiano and had a wonderful experience there. The property is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Two sides of the property have lovely Tuscan views of the hillside below. We had rooms 9 and 10, which are separate from the main house where many of the rooms are. These rooms, one on top of the other, have either a porch or balcony with a lovely view of the countryside. The rooms are spacious and clean, with good housekeeping service in the morning and turndown service again at night. The staff is very friendly and helpful, making dinner reservations, arranging taxis to town, making suggestions for wineries and restaurants, etc. Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of options. I saw some people ordering off the menu, so if you have a special request, I imagine they would be happy to help you with that. They offer a cooking class for an extra cost, which we took part in and it was lots of fun. So much so, we decided we will always take cooking classes when we travel in the future. Another nice perk is that there is a washing machine that guests can use. They say it's a combination washer/dryer, but it only dries the clothes somewhat. But we just hung things up for the day and they were dry when we returned that evening. There is also a lovely sitting area set overlooking the countryside where we sat and had a glass of wine each evening (they sell wine by the glass or bottle here). And a gorgeous swimming pool area. Very nice! We have nothing but good things to say about Villa Poggiano … it's truly a first class boutique hotel. We highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again if we are so lucky as to make it back to Tuscany. You won't be disappointed!
