Since it was no longer possible for us to stay at the Hotel Augustus, we spent our spa vacation for 3 weeks in 2022 and 2023 at the Hotel Petrarca Terme. The location in the town center in the thermal swimming pool with 8 different pools in a park is very nice. The spa treatments with natural fango and massages are extraordinary and are carried out professionally by friendly, competent staff. This year, upon request, we received a suite, 2 rooms, bathroom and balcony with a view of the hills. The rooms had been renovated in a classic style not too long ago and were clean and tidy. All the staff who were there for us were very friendly and helpful. Most of them speak German or can at least understand it sufficiently. The breakfast is also well stocked for German guests. The evening meal is varied and diverse and can definitely be described as a daily highlight. The well-tempered thermal bath made a clean and tidy impression and we enjoyed using it extensively every day. We are very pleased about the free covered parking spaces on the hotel grounds. We hope that we will be able to use this beautiful and practical hotel complex for our spa treatments for a long time to come and would be happy to come back.

I stayed in a two bathroom, two bedroom "suite" nights. The size of the room is positive and that's it. Slept for 3 nights with a temperature of 28 degrees which never dropped despite the window being open at night. I reported to the reception shortly after arriving and after an attempt to contact via PC I was told: "eh ma'am, we are at the spa!" Stop, in the corridors there can be whatever temperature they want but in a 4 star room I have to be able to adjust it to my liking. The next morning, after a sleepless night, I go back to reception and am told that the maintenance technician would be coming by... nothing has changed! Cleanliness leaves something to be desired. On the balcony there were piles of hair which were clearly visible all the time due to the rain, in the bathroom the central tiles were beautiful clean, under the sink and along the edges they were beautiful black, on the third day I had to move the desk chair to let it vacuum the dust cats.
Two cots in one room that creaked as you moved.
The furniture throughout the hotel probably dates back to the opening years and has never been modernized other than the covering of the chairs in the dining room and a dozen chairs at the bar which, between armchairs and retro sofas, makes everything a jumble of styles. Dusty fake flowers around the unwatchable corridors.
Positive aspects: the food even if it always reflects the old style, the friendliness of the waiters and the swimming pools even if they are open to the public at some times they are overcrowded.
The structure would be there, but currently it is not worth 4 stars if everything is not modernized as soon as possible.

I state that my husband and I stayed 10 days ago in the pool with 12 euros less per person .In the outdoor pools you can not bring food because the bar prohibits it (rightly they must earn too), but the prices are exaggerated.Anyway we decide to eat at the bar is we ask if they had gluten-free foods because I am celiac, they offer me a toast ( 6 euros two slices of bread with a slice of raw and fontina ).The only flaw when they bring me the dish to the table was the piadina with gluten on top of my plate , I say nothing but surely it was already contaminated my toast. In fact the next day I was sick.We decide to come today the entrance to the pools increased by 12 euros per person being PREFESTIVO really exaggerated, however there is 'in fact we entered the same. From home I brought gluten-free foods because this time my daughter came with us who also has celiac disease, I honestly did not want to spend so much money and then feel bad the next day Then anyway we had seen that other people ate so with a little concern we ate too The lifeguard scolded us when we started to eat but 'other people ate so we answered that she could also call us a manager of the bar since we had allergy problems. We have clarified with the manager and she replied that next time you have to notify if we bring food with us. However, already paying such a high amount for admission you can not expect to spend so much money at the bar is risk being sick.

Terrible welcome... the staff at the reception were rude and unfriendly... the rooms were delivered with burnt out lights, the bathroom was old (with the taps still from the 1950s), the reception in the room was terrible... some waiters don't know what education is, I I heard a waiter say "come on, eat, eat, move on" and take the dish away because they had to finish quickly and it was 9pm... The pool bar should change staff... after paying €30 for 5 spritzes on a glass of plastic they told me that the consumption had to be done standing because they needed seats for those who enjoyed lunch in the bar... very crowded pools looked like municipal swimming pools... the hotel guests had no reserved seats. the only positive note was the excellent cuisine and the well-maintained swimming pools. absolute zero relaxation, the slippers of the children playing got on your head.

We are regulars of Abano and Montegrotto Terme, we know the standards of a spa hotel worthy of the name. But what we found at Hotel Petrarca was a chilling sight.

We made an evening entrance and I thank the Lord for that, we start from the arrival rude and arrogant valets, who seemed more interested in blocking access than welcoming us. A treatment unworthy of a customer, immediately leaving a bad omen about what lay ahead inside. And we weren't wrong.

Once inside, we find ourselves in front of swimming pools that look more like an anonymous communal pool than a spa: Large swimming pools built inside sheds devoid of any warmth or relaxing atmosphere, with lighting so dim it looks like a basement. A disconcerting choice for an environment that should convey peace and well-being.

And here comes the beauty: the whirlpools do not activate independently, but only in time and trust me it was more the time they remain off than in operation. Once turned on, the effect was virtually zero: a whirlpool that leaves the time it finds. In the outdoor pools, the most we could see was a barely activated waterfall and a mini-bubble in the small outdoor pool, something embarrassing for those who expect a minimum of quality.

The staff? Rigid, rude, unprofessional, they follow the rules with such coldness that they want to go out immediately. At 22:10, without any warning, they turned off all the hot tubs and at 22:23 the most absurd thing happened: lights out in the pool while people were still inside! The outdoor pool was completely dark and half of the indoor pool the same, with people complaining. Meanwhile, in the dark, a figure appeared – an employee, probably in his sixties, who went back and forth with a flashlight to check if people were still in the water. A horror movie image rather than a spa image.

This is what we experienced, us and 50/60 other people. If you are looking for relaxation and professionalism it is right that you know that these are the pools of the Petrarca hotel for the inside of the hotel I do not put my mouth because I have never gone. Have fun!!!

Very large structure composed of a new part and a more historic part.
Numerous thermal pools both indoors and outdoors (including an Olympic pool). Fun experience for both adults and children.
Large rooms with classic furnishings (historical part) and bathrooms which are also very large.
Possibility of spa treatments inside the structure.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner of excellent quality and plentiful, including a good choice of gluten-free foods.
Average prices for the quality of the structure.

I took advantage of the daily entrance to the 8 thermal pools for the first time, plus I treated myself to the (divine) salt room which has a separate cost.
Organized structure, excellent cleanliness, friendly and welcoming staff.
Super pools with all kinds of hydromassages, the water temperatures vary according to the pool you enter from the hottest to the coolest... not to mention the sauna, Turkish bath, emotional shower and yin Yang, I came out of it reborn.
Lots of relaxation loungers included in the entry price both inside and outside.
Had lunch at the outside bar, ate well at a reasonable cost.
I will definitely come back and highly recommend it, I really enjoyed it!

After having progressively increased prices, the facility that I have been frequenting for years has now reserved an absolutely unpleasant surprise: the hydromassages of the first swimming pool (the one near the changing rooms) no longer work when the appropriate button is pressed, but are controlled by a system that makes them work very rarely. minutes, with biblical pauses between one operation and another. This was also unpleasantly noticed by other guests who verbally expressed their dissent. after increasing midweek access prices from 22 to 23 euros a few weeks ago, this inefficiency has now been added. I will therefore be forced, against my will, to evaluate other spa facilities, disagreeing with the arbitrary behavior of Petrarch's management. If the service is not restored, I reserve the right to carry out any informative and evaluation action via social media and other information sources for the user.

On June 27 I enter the Petrarca hotel to do 4 hours of relaxation and swimming. When I pay I am told that the indoor pools with whirlpools and relaxation paths, foot massage and whirlpool beds are emptied and so is the small outdoor one, so not usable.
In operation the Olympic-size outdoor pool, the other in the relaxation area, the children's pool and the one with sun loungers for tanning in the water.
The price, however, is always the same as on weekdays, 23 euros. No reduction , despite the fact that the hotel offers half services .
I should have come back tomorrow with a group of friends visiting Padua, but I would say no!
I don't think the treatment is correct.

Kindness in the initial welcome, in the treatment during and at the end of the holiday.
The indoor pools are beautiful, well-kept and clean, with slightly salty and very hot thermal water.
Spacious room, very well heated and quite new in style.
The cuisine was very varied, of excellent quality and with decidedly generous portions (willingness to grant or repeat dishes).
For celiacs, nothing was missed, from breakfast to dinner, with a lot of attention and preparation in managing the service.
The price, considering the services, the type of hotel (4 stars) and the period, in my opinion definitely adequate.
Recommended structure for a relaxing family holiday.
