The hotel could definitely use some serious refurbishment. Rooms are pretty big compared to other Italian hotels and the hotel is nicely located in the centre of the city and close to the train. Very poor breakfast, nice coffee at the bar. Polite owners. Otherwise it i a basic hotel only for a quick sleepover.
The hotel has a prime location and the location is its best feature - it's nearby the railway station Montecatini centro, as well as nearby the centre of the town, restaurants, stores and supermarkets. The room we had was extremely spatious. However, the room was dusty and the bathroom was not as clean as you would expect it to be in a three-star hotel. The major objection was poor Wi-fi service - it didn't work for two full days! In hospitality industry in the middle of Europe in the 21st century this kind of situation is totally unacceptable regardless of the hotel's star rating. If hotels in third-world countries can offer their guests a decent Wifi service, I certainly expect no less in the heart of Europe. Because of this deficiency, we had a hard time organizing our trip - rent-a-car service, train timetables etc. The phone in the room does not work so one depends on the courtesy of the receptionist when it comes to calling e.g. rent-a-car agencies. As multilingualism is one of the cornerstones of the united Europe, you would want hotel staff (at least receptionists) to speak English or some other foreign language apart from their native language (in this case Italian). Non-Italian speakers will face difficulties communicating with the people working at the reception desk. The heating did not work at first, but as many guests complained, they had it repaired quickly. Breakfast is decent, if not sumptious, it is definitely sufficient to keep you going till lunch time.…
We travelled by travel agency, so they choosed this hotel. We just slept there, bed was OK, but there was problem with water on the 2nd floor, sometimes it went good, sometimes the shower just dropped, so when we were washing our hair, it was a big problem. Breakfast good taste, but very poor - no croissants, no eggs, no sausages... Just hams, jams, cereals, some cheese... We supposed to have better stay there.
This hotel reminded me of a seedy B movie type of hotel.... it needs major upgrading in every aspect from constructional to functional... the furniture is old and dingy... the bathrooms are extremely dated and tiley are chipped... everything about the decor is dated and tired and simply old! The hotel rooms smelled like strong disinfectant that was very difficult to tolerate.... I would never recommend or return....
It is clear that Innocent is budget hotel, in quite comfortable location of the city, so expectation should not be on high level. Room was clean to the certian extend, not too small, however bathroom (broken slide doors, water flow and temperature not easy to control, etc...), breakfast quality (awful) and size of elevator are definitely weak points. OK, you can't work on elevator enralgements, however some more "Customer oriented" approach by employees (especially during breakfast time) is really needed. Next time I will avoid this place for sure.....
