This hotel saw 5 stars 20-30 years ago. The object is served by 2 sisters who have no idea about the 5 * handling culture. On arrival (daughters room) the sliding wardrobe door hardly crushed my 6 year old daughter as she opened it (I grabbed it). The air conditioning did not work in our room - the lady at the reception (as it later turned out the manager - one of the sisters) informs me that the air conditioning works every 2 hours - I ask if it's a joke since it's 35 degrees outside. Pictures of air conditioning controllers attached. After the intervention, we get another room with a broken glass. After another intervention at the reception, the Lady informs me that I have to pay for one night (the reservation was for 6 nights) and that we should look for another hotel and she does not want any comments about HER hotel. I am asking if I will propose another room? Not ! WTF ??? So I am enclosing photos of the room and a decaying hotel that can receive a maximum of 3 *. In addition, the room description is not adequate to the description on the booking - the bathrooms are tiles from the 60's, not marble. The tiles falling off the pool were the attraction of the children collecting them (so they smeared the pool with black goo so they wouldn't fall off any further). One of the photos with the door is the entrance to the SPA (Xperience). I attach photos of the terrace and garden. NO COMMENT. And we also visited and used the SPA - a device from the 70's. And also taking seats by the pool - during the stay there were reportedly 120 people in the hotel with a maximum of 30 sunbeds at the pool. So we get up at 6:30 to be occupied and there the gentleman from the reception runs and takes them with guests' towels with cards with room numbers - I ask one of the sisters what's going on because at 6:30 there are no places at the pool - the manager (one of the sisters) answers me that if I want to have a place by the pool, I should CLEVER (EUR? USD?). WELL THIS IS A LITTLE SAINT.

When I first checked in i was offered room 305 with a ceiling that had black spots all around that looked like mold and a air conditioning that didn't seem to be working well. I went down to Reception to tell them about the issues of this room and was yelled by the Manager who told me that if I didn't like their room options that I could GO AWAY. Later I found out that he was the owner. After that they moved me to another room. This next room seemed better (room 209), but it had a door that connected to a neighboring room. It was not sound proof. I could hear everything the guests next door were saying, I could hear the TV show they were watching, I could hear their telephone conversations, etc. The next morning I was woke up by the neighbor's call to front desk complaining about their AC not working well. That morning I went down to the front desk and told them that I couldn't sleep or rest in that room due to the issues mentioned previously. Considering I still had two more nights in that hotel I wanted a different room or to be moved to another hotel. They changed me to another room which also had poor AC, but at least there was no noise. I just settled for that. Dirty sofas and towel, broken and old carpet covery the stairs, dirty WC(found a black haire on the WC) poor air conditioning. On top of that the treatment from the Manager who should be a pleasant person to deal with is on the contrary a someone who doesn't want to please his guests and treats them very poorly and rudely.

Very rude staff. AC is not working well. It is July, the weather is so hot and the rooms are super hot. When we complained about this, they told us that we cannot use AC all the time. It is available only for limited time. I never heard of such thing before. Additionally, i am not happy about the cleanness of the rooms. I will never stay here again.

This place would be a “ok” for a 3 star hotel, but 5 start is ridiculous. They provided only 1 hand towel for a 2-person room, and when we wanted another towel, they said it was too late for the day, and we should have told them before. I am sorry, but in which 5* hotel do I have to ask them towel aprior? Cant they assume X people will need X hand towels? Another room had the exact same problem as us the next day. They said we can complain this to whoever we want, and here we go... The service is bad, and rude (0/5). The breakfast is 3/5 at most. The rooms (at least in -1 floor) are awfull 2/5). There is always high humidity and the furniture is from B.C (1/5). The shower stucks, water does not flow (1/5). Did I say that this hotel is 5 star? 👎👎

We came to Montecatini for the first time and we booked a room for 3. However the room which is on -2 level is always very humide and the bed covers are wet. We had to take the shower in max 3 min because the drain gets blocked and the water is all around :( wait for the best part: we asked for towel because the towel had dropped on the flooded bathroom, we called the reception 2 times and waited for 1 hour, we never got it and when we asked to the receptionist, he (rude and arrogantly) said it is impossible because house keeping is closed. (It was 21:00in the evening) there is no slippers in the hotel and the stuff is really a challenge. I strongly recommend to avoid this hotel especially if you want to have a good calm stress-free holiday vacation. Receptionists are ready to argue with you anytime :( Old buildings are supposed to bring you some nostalgy not the stress and uncomfort, especially when you are on a family holiday vacation!!!!

Response from Hotel Bellavist... P, Responsabile relazioni con la clientela at Grand Hotel Bellavista Palace

Dear Family Ozen good evening, Let's make a premise, we have always accepted the criticism and praise of our customers without any kind of problem, and we will continue to do so. Please note that tripadvisor it is also a useful tool for Hoteliers, as it helps us improve the quality of the services provided. In this case, we cannot avoid, with due education and respect, that his review it seems rather exasperated to us. Some of statements do not represent the reality of the facts, not respecting our personnel, who daily commit themselves to their work to the total disposal of customers. Making you part of a group of 31 people, with reduced rates, some services are not included in your booking like bathrobe and slippers which can be provided for € 10.00 as we have already said many times. You dispute the fact that there are not enough towels in the bathroom also this detail is not true; the courtesy set is composed by a shower towel, face and wipe obviously per person. How many more towels should we supply you with? We want also to specify that the rooms assigned to you are on the Ground Floor with private garden and on the First Floor overlooking the centuries-old park of Terme Tettuccio. It is the first time that we are reviewed when the customer is still in the Hotel. Kindest Regards Francesca - Back Office GRAND HOTEL BELLAVISTA PALACE
