The main disappointment was the breakfast, for a 4 star hotel it was not 4 star breakfast, the first day everything was cold, the scrambled egg, bacon and mushrooms, Not to mention the bacon was pretty much raw. The continentals were ok but again not 4*, such a shame as it could have been a lot more enjoyable if the standards were raised slightly. It was easy to access venice from the hotel. £23 taxi or could purchase tram tickets which were £1 and could get from reception. Hotel staff were very helpful with ordering taxis for us.
short walk to tram stop that runs to Venice. Not much else around so make sure if you need supply’s for the room to pick up while you are out. Hotel does have fridges with beer, wine, juice at a cost and some nice out door areas to sit. Only negatives are if you want to use the facilities which come at an extra cost 25Eur pp which soon adds up if you have children who want to swim. Breakfast has a reasonable selection buffet style but definitely not an American cooked breakfast and again quiet expensive at 12 Eur pp you can eat well 10-15 minutes walk for a lot less.
We booked a massage via groupon as it was cheaper and tried the claim the free massage that was emailed to me directly by the hotel. This seemed to be a major inconvenience for them but they eventually agreed. However when my partner was in the massage room the receptionist burst through the door and demanded that we had to pay for the free massage. Very unprofessional and led to us not enjoying the experience. The location of the hotel is good tram takes 20 minutes to reach Venice. It was definitely not 4 star accommodation or service.
Unfortunately you have to improve simply details to get more clients, nowadays hospitality has though competitors and quality is the first pillar to build . Room 113
Also the room is completely impractical & noisy.
There was no privacy for the bathroom. I guess having clear glass walls for the shower would seem romantic. But, also having no privacy for the toilet, hiding from watching your partner wipe their own ass kinda kills the romance.
At night the room is noisy with uncomfortable pillows. There was a water gushing sound every 2 mins for about 2 seconds to fill up a tank. This was annoying enough for you to not get to sleep. Also the walls were not solid so there was noise from adjacent rooms. Quite frankly we had the worst 3 nights sleeps ever.
Oh, and we had an issue in the night where we couldn’t turn off the desk spotlights. We got a man come to try and resolve but he couldn’t figure it out. His resolution was to put the bright spotlights into a paper coffee cup filled full of tissue and taped closed. This did work but surely heat building up was a fire / safety risk. It all felt like a Faulty Towers moment.
Finally, residents still have to pay to use the swimming pool. Very poor.
You would have a more comfortably stay in a Travelodge. Actually, maybe a Premier Inn, to be a little more classy.
