Detailed Reviews
We have just returned home from a city break with friends and was allocated this hotel from the “Wowcher Mystery Holiday”. Noisy, not a great area, hotel needs to be renovated and security needs to be increased in my opinion. We also found that since booking, Wowcher made a 33% profit on us. It would have been cheaper to book it all separate (and a nicer hotel) for our trip. One for hindsight I guess.
I emailed the hotel in advance and asked for an upgrade due to the weekend being a special occasion. A man called Diego said he would see what he could do about allocating us rooms on the first floor as these had been newly renovated.
All I have to say is, if these are newly renovated I feel for you if you have a room on any other floor! The blinds made it feel like a prison cell, the electric sockets did not work (as upgraded as they were with USB ports). This also caused us to miss an alarm due to battery dying on our phone one day. The toilet made a bubbling sound from further along the U-Bend and this went on for hours after flushing. The air con control pad (again, high tech as this was intended to be) lit the whole room up in a bright blue colour for the duration of the night and was temperamental and didn’t do what you selected of it. I did ask the receptionist on our last night if there was a power bank or anything that he could offer me to charge our phones so we could use these for alarms and boarding passes when travelling home the next day. He came up and into my room and watched me try each appliance and continued to tell me it was my devices at fault and not the electrics of the hotel so there was nothing he could do. Luckily we were staying with friends who could help us the next day or we would have been at risk of not being able to travel home.
The hotel is situated in an area about 20 mins from mainstream Venice. The area is ok but I personally wouldn’t stay there again. We arrived at night and walked from the bus stop and I felt quite unsettled about the 20 min walk to the hotel from the bus stop. In front of the hotel are 4 bins which the whole town appear to visit to empty their bottles at any given time of the day (it’s usually in the middle of the night and wakes you up numerous times). The high speed of traffic on the main road by the hotel also woke us several times.
Finally, on to safety. There is a very cheap bar next door to the hotel which the receptionist pointed out upon our arrival as attracting a lot of drunks, teenagers and homeless due to the prices - cue more noise at night. My main concern was that these customers loiter outside the main entrance to the hotel which the stairs to rooms are directly opposite. Nobody is challenged in any way when entering the hotel so realistically anybody could enter the premises at any given point. Again this unsettled me and made me feel unsafe.
The only positives I would take would be that the rooms were clean enough (our newly renovated rooms) and the showers were hot and powerful.

We recently returned from a 3 night stay as part of our wowcher deal. As previous reviews say the hotel is quite dated. Our room was very small and the walls are thin so you can hear people/cleaners in other rooms. We were located on the 5th floor, facing the back of the hotel so didn't experience much noise from outside. It is in an ideal location, Lee Coopers is a must for burgers and cocktails if you are looking for somewhere close by. We opted to take the train into Venice during our stay, this was only a 15/20 minute walk. It cost around 2/3 euros each way and only 10 minutes on the train and you're in the heart of Venice! All in all it's a basic hotel but it is what you pay for plus the staff are friendly which was a bonus!

**Wowcher Mystery Holiday**
To anyone saying this is a rubbish hotel.....ARE YOU SERIOUS? Of course this isn’t a 5* hotel where you get champagne on arrival and rose petals on your bed....yes it’s outdated and the rooms look like they’ve come from the 80’s but you are literally here to sleep! You get a warm clean room, a powerful hot shower, clean sheets and towels and it’s a brilliant base point which is 15 minutes outside of Venice (where you would probably pay triple for the same hotel) - what more do you want? To get the bus into Venice, visit the tobacco shop next door. We paid €30 each for 48 hours - this includes the normal bus and water bus (unlimited journeys). The bus stop is just round the corner from the hotel (just outside the supermarket). You get the 7/7E bus into Venice and same coming back. Walking round Mestre was good....a lot of shops, cafes and a huge market to see. We visited a bar/restaurant called Lee Coopers which is w 2 minute walk from the hotel, brilliant food and drink at a reasonable price. Had a brilliant 3 days here and would 100% recommend.

Having seen some not so good reviews of this hotel I was a bit apprehensive of what we would find.
When we arrived at approx 10pm I could not have been any more plesently surprised. We were checked in by a friendly guy at reception, we then made our way to our room and were very pleased with this, my first impression was this was a clean and very well maintained room, we had very practical unit for storage, power points either side of the bed made charging devices convenient. The only thing lacking for me was tea and coffee making facilities however this was the only thing I could nit pick at from my experience with this hotel.
The bathroom was amazing, this was an ideal size and the shower, just wow! I Did not expect this, towels were lush and were refreshed daily I have stayed in premium spa hotels that were not this good!
Chances are if you are staying here a trip to Venice will be on your itinerary, getting here could not be easier, just turn right at the hotel doors, and you will see a main road, cross this road you will see a bus stop near a supermarket and gym, from here you will take the 7E, this runs every 20 minutes or so, tickets for this can be bought at the shop right next door to the hotel, we paid €30 each, this was for a 2 day pass for the bus and water buses once in Venice, amazing value! The bus journey takes 20/25 minutes, a noteworthy part of this journey is taking in the Ponte Della Libertà, this road across the sea is just a hint of what’s to come, once you have crossed this bridge you will arrive at Piazzale Roma. When you alight here cross the glass floored curved bridge and be prepared to have your breath taken away with this unique and beautiful city! Venice is like no other city in the world!
I could write an entire essay on just how amazing the city of Venice is however back to the hotel, from Piazzale Roma bus stop you will take the 7 bus (look for the service to Spinea) to return to the hotel this drops of right near Hotel Centrale where you will receive a warm welcome back If you are looking for somewhere to eat/drink in the evening there is a charming bar called Lee Coopers less than a 10 minute walk, this was amazing for burgers and drinks!
While at the hotel I had the breakfast, this was amazing value at €7 there was a delightful continental breakfast and served from 7 till 10 this was a very convenient time, the food was a good standard and there was great choice.
Refreshments we also available in reception 24/7 there was a good selection of soft/alcoholic drinks and snacks, this was reasonably priced so nipping down for a cheeky beer was very easy! Tea/coffee could have been made available here but this goes back to my initial and only criticism of this hotel.
Our room, aside from being immaculately clean was very comfortable, the temperature was perfect and could be turned up or down by a thermostat, we had a nice big window which brought in a lot of natural light and plenty of fresh air.
This was a lovely stay in a lovely hotel, I would definitely return :-)

+1
We have just returned from a 3 night wowcher deal stay.
I have to say after reading reviews before we went I wasn’t looking forward to staying here at all. I was pleasantly surprised.
We arrived just after 9.30. The hotel is easy to find after getting the bus from Treviso airport (ATVO) it cost us €48 for return journey we got off at the second stop - Corso del popolo, it is about a 10 minute walk direct to the hotel.
We were on the 2nd floor and seemed to be facing the back. The room was basic, bed, tv (Italian only) a dressing table and small wardrobe, the bathroom was decent and had a powerful hot shower.
The walls are thin, yes you can hear people
In their rooms/cleaners about but during the night it was quiet.
Room was cleaned daily.
The only problem I found was there was no kettle in the room to make a hot drink when we got there.
In the reception there was two small fridges with bottled water, juice and alcohol.
The bus 7E into Venice is across the road on the side of the supermarket. We bought our tickets from the tobacco shop next door to the hotel. For a 48hr pass for the both of us it was €60. This was for the land busses and the water busses once in Venice. Reception staff were good at advising us what bus to get and where from. The bus too about 15/20 minutes to get into Venice and then we just hopped on the 7 bus on the way home.
I personally didn’t have any breakfast but my husband paid for the hotel breakfast on the last day, and he appeared to enjoy it.
The surrounding area was lovely a few shops and places to eat. We visited lee coopers sports bar which was lovely.
If returning to Venice I Would definitely consider staying here again.

Returned from a wowcher mystery holiday booking to Venice last week - overall not bad at all! Very basic hotel and room, TV but nothing worth watching, plug sockets broken in places but it was warm, dry and clean. Lovely hot shower which in January was very pleasing, because it was bloody cold! Brilliant access to the very centre of Venice on the number 7 or 7E bus from the stop literally outside the hotel. Bought the 72 hour Venezia Unica travel cards which gives you unlimited travel on the buses and water buses for €52 each. Sounds like a large amount but also included travel to and from the airport, and for the amount of hopping on and off buses and boats you’ll do, they pay for themselves! Didn’t bother with the hotel breakfast, but it’s available for €7. We opted to go across the road to the supermarket instead or into Mestre which was surprisingly lovely, similar to somewhere like Camden at night! Big fresh food market, shopping centre and restaurants. Went to Koffers(??) for a pizza which worked out very reasonable.
Generally Venice was pleasant, wouldn’t personally go back (didn’t feel the welcome from the locals was particularly warm but that’s a personal opinion) but a nice break for the price. (FYI - For people who weren’t happy with the wowcher price and felt “ripped off”, I think it’s worth remembering it's a GAMBLE - you wouldn’t complain if you’d won New York or Dubai for £99, the big prizes need subsidising by the lesser ones, so don’t let these opinions mislead you into thinking it was over priced for what it was, it was a fair price for a well located, budget hotel.)

We stayed here for 3 nights on the wowcher deal.
The hotel looks modern from the outside but the rooms are dated, but they are clean and have everything you need. It can also appear a little intimidating as there is a busy bar outside that is popular with students, but there it shuts up around midnight so the noise dies down. We were given a family room on the 5th floor, so we had loads of space and we only had a small amount of noise from the bar/road.
The staff are really helpful and speak excellent English, they will give you a map, show you where to get the bus and how to buy a ticket.
The bus stop is just across the road.we brought a 2 day pass from the newsagents for 30 eur each, which covered the bus to venice and the vapporato. The buses run every 15 mins or so and are 24 hrs into venice.
If you turn left out of the hotel you'll pass loads of bars and restaurants and nice squares to walk around.
We had a private transfer to the hotel but got the avto bus back to treviso airport. The ticket is 12 eur each and there is a ticket machine at the bus stop, or you can buy on board, reception will show you how to get to this bus stop.
This hotel is a great base for visiting venice, it is basic and I can see how some people wouldn't like the noise, but we are happy with our stay, it was just what we needed.

My friend and I bought the Wowcher £99 holiday and this was our hotel, it’s safe to say we were happily surprised after reading the reviews.
Staff are extremely helpful and friendly, our room was clean, we had heating, beds were comfy and all around a good location if you are looking for somewhere close to Venice for a quarter of the price.
Advised by the reception we bought travel cards from the shop next door, we bought a 3 day for €40 this allows unlimited travel on buses and water taxis.
This doesn’t include the transport from the airport to hotel (vis-versa) that will cost €12 one way. It is a white bus (believe it is the 351 but not sure) From the airport it is the first stop which lands you a 10 min walk away from the hotel. Then on the way back to the airport you need to get on at Mestre BNL bank, it is the same place you got off just on the other side. The road is Corso del Popolo I think, €12 again to the airport, the reception have a timetable for these buses.
When getting into Venice the bus to take is the 7E/7 we got both and found our way ok, same for the way back. After a certain time they change to night buses so make sure you know which one stops near hotel Centrale, we didn’t realise this and had to do a lot of walking!
We rocked up fairly late one night and just had to ring a doorbell and the night porter let us in.
There is a supermarket across the road and a small cafe next door. Breakfast is €7 at the hotel, we didn’t bother having it.
One thing I would say about the hotel room is you could hear other doors close when you were in your room but it’s not a dealbreaker. Other than that it is a very good hotel for what you pay for.

Had an absolute great stay here.
Booked through the wowcher £99 deal and being honest I wasn’t sure what to expect and wasn’t really looking forward to it, however we had absolutely no complaints.
So easy to get to from the airport, easy to buy tickets for the bus from the shop next door (we got the 48 hour ones as these included water buses in Venice and that made life so much easier) the buses run 24 hour and you pick it up from just outside the supermarket opposite the hotel.
Hotel completely clean, spacious room with a good size bathroom, staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Honestly had a really good stay; it’s a basic hotel but when visiting Venice you couldn’t need for anymore!!
Also big shout out to lee coopers what a great bar just round the corner!!

My partner and I partook in the Wowcher Mystery Break and ended up with this hotel. It's not a hotel we would have chosen, however, upon arrival the exterior looks better in person than the pictures. Staff were helpful and loaned us an adaptor. Breakfast was not nice at all. Room was incredibly basic, but clean. We had an extra bed in our room so was handy, although bathroom was incredibly tiny. The hotels location is great to get the bus in and out of Venice, although you have to go to the Tabacchi / Bar Milano to purchase bus tickets. No super markets etc were open in the area around 8pm.

There's a ticket desk just before the exit in the airport where you can buy the passes - either the standard bus tickets or the travel cards
Im not sure in honesty, we flew to Venice Marco Polo - you could potentially get travel cards that cover water bus and regular bus, the Venezia unica card. If they’re available they’ll be a machine in the airport to get them from. Have a nice time!
