This elegant palazzo consists of several palatial rooms and apartments serviced by very helpful staff and our gracious and energetic host, Geltrude, whose recommendations and advice made our stay so much more enjoyable.

The location new the main gate of the old city was perfect for us to venture both in the old city and elsewhere to other towns.

Breakfast was included and scrumptious. Lots of choices, including fresh fruits, meats, pastries, cakes and cereals. Delicate and omelets or scrambled fresh eggs filled with local hams, cheese and peppers were made to order each day.

The staff made delicious cocktails every evening and these were served on one or other of several terraces or ornately restored sitting rooms. A range of quality wines are available to buy per bottle or glass.

Beds are very comfortable and facilities including the spa and a variety of massage services of a high standard.

We had a relaxing and delightful stay and thank Geltrude for her dedication and energy in making it so.

5 nights in Palazzo Guido was like a romantic step back in time. The palazzo is beautifully preserved, its common rooms all have period furnishings and the array of photos and other objects given them a warm welcoming feel. You truly feel like you are living in a chateau. All rooms and apartments are different. We stayed in the Alcantarine suite, which was absolutely lovely. Service is discreet and courteous. Signora Geltrude is most welcoming. Breakfast was fulsome, with a great variety of torte, cornetti, meats, fruits and jams. Apperitivi are available in the Palazzo, as are other « snacks » should you wish to pre-order them. The Palazzo is located near Porta Napoli, and we were able to easily find free street parking just outside the Porta. Two tips: (I)We had been forewarned by Signora Geltrude that the Alcantarine suite might not be a good choice for light sleepers as it has two beautiful large windows overlooking a piazza, occupied by two restaurants having terraces. On a busy night, it can be noisy (especially clean up time after the restaurants close). Something to keep in mind when booking - other suites have windows on the inner court and are probably more quiet. (II) if you enjoy the beautiful long-standing tradition in Italy of wonderful caffè (read « expresso »), you’ll need to go around the corner « al bar » to get one from a barista. The palazzo serves expresso made from coffee machines that use single dose capsules. That just doesn’t cut it. With those two caveats, I would happily stay at Palazzo Guido on a return trip to Lecce!

Thank you so much for this amazing and very useful review; I'm sure that the beautiful compliments and the description of the services as well as the habient will be useful to potential customers. I always recommend to contact us before booking as each room is different and has its own peculiarities. Our mission is to give our customers an unforgettable experience, talking together about habits (sleep, space and light) helps to create a perfect stay together. I like to define the Alcatarine Suite for "city people" because as it overlooks a square we can not guarantee silence, as actually for other rooms. Even the observation on the coffee (which almost everyone finds excellent) is very helpful: at Palazzo Guido we offer the unique experience of noble hospitality living in a noble house dated back the 1500s: I wanted to maintain as much of what is home as possible so if from one side we have espresso coffee pods, on the otherside we propose something that bars don't make, such as real American coffee or real moka coffee. I'm happy that you enjoyed staying with us and I really hope to see you again in the future. Every year we improve with some new features, so come visit us soon and discover them! Thanks again for the wonderful review! Best regards, geltrude

Romantic Hidden Gem in City Center Lecce, Italy

We are retired and love travel but we adore Italy even more!

We have visited Italy 14 times during lifetime but have never enjoyed ourselves or been swept off our feet with such a fantastic. romantic and truly magical place as our experience as staying at Palazzo Guido in the old center city center of Lecce,Italy.

The Palazzo is hosted by the incredible equally magical owner and host, Geltrude Guido.

Ms. Guido, or as she prefers to be called, Geltrude, is a wonderful, and truly charming young woman who I think never sleeps! She is always available to offer suggestions and solve any issues you may have. When she says “I am at your total disposal” she really realty means it! Geltrude gave us her own personal mobile phone number and was in total and complete communication with us even before we arrived.

Geltrude was always around to provide great local restaurant recommendations and gave ongoing help in planning our holiday in Lecce and other nearby cities .

A fantastic customizable Breakfast was included and there is even a stocked mini-bar at no charge. Damiano is not only the server at the breakfast he is a master baker. I’m a bit of a baker myself but he really impressed me when we exchanged recipes on making a crostata. I use double zero floor. So does he but my preserves come from a jar he Makes it from scratch! Everything at breakfast is organic or as they say “biologico”

So if you want to live in a restored palace Palazzo Guido is the place to stay.

It’s difficult to describe the ambiance because it seems you were transported back in time, but with a all the modern conveniences of today’s world and as Americans we loved the great air conditioned bedroom and ultra modern bathroom. It was a heatwave in Lecce and we really appreciated our cool room.

The entree way of the hotel is where, in previous times, you could possibly imagine the horse and carriage would enter and the affluent owner or Royal party would disembark before ascending the stairs to their Royal home.

At this hotel You just get the feeling you are an honored guest at their home.

To add to the our romantic atmosphere is the magical extraordinary authentic organic food.

Geltrude suggested that after our long journey ftom New York, we might want a light bite. I guess in her hotel “light bite” translates to what we would call a gourmet feast! It was fantastic and the breafast was equally a gourmet delight.

We consider ourselves to be foodies and at times difficult to impress. But here at this place We were impressed.

The pastries by Damiano were home-made and delicious and if you come order the mini crostata and apple cake - all made in house. I had a different crostata every day.

It’s really difficult to convey how magical this place is so I hope the attached photos help tell the story.

We’ve never visited the same city or hotel in Italy but this will be our only exception. We hope to return to celebrate a magical and romantic fiftieth year wedding anniversary.

A precious jewel located in the heart of Lecce. You enter the majestic entrance door and a warm home atmosphere takes you back to the past, with an ancient style expertly mixed with design elements that enhance its value. Hospitality is the dominant note of the building, as all rooms are at the complete disposal of guests who can relax and enjoy their stay in total relaxation. Don't miss out on a relaxing and invigorating massage.

Che meraviglia! What a wonderful stay! We are still dreaming. Palazzo Guido is a real hidden gem. This place has a soul and is incredibly charming. As soon as you walk through the door of the Palazzo, you enter a unique atmosphere and you feel at home. With a 5* service, the staff will take care of you like if you were a countess who has lived here forever. The place is confidential and calm, which is very relaxing. Start your day with a delicious breakfast served on porcelain and silverware, and finish it with a tasty cocktail on the Palazzo rooftop with an incredible view on the Church.
A huge thanks to the owner Geltrude and to Christina & Antonio for making us feel special.

Palazzo Guido is a beautiful boutique hotel in an area of Lecce which is close walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and sights. Our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom room with living room, dining area and kitchen was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. The hotel has a 24 hour hot tub and sauna which is very relaxing, and a great feature since it’s always available. The common rooms of the Palazzo are beautifully decorated, such as the dining area and reading room. Most important is the customer service during our stay. The staff is wonderful, especially Geltrude the owner. She is on site all day to assist you in anyway possible, such as restaurant reservations and excursions. Geltrude goes out of her way to make every guest feel at home and special. Our stay here was really amazing and we can’t wait to return. If you are traveling to Lecce, do not hesitate to consider your stay here!

My husband and I (plus a few other couples who were traveling together) stayed at Palazzo Guido in early October for several nights. We were incredibly impressed by the warm and gracious staff and the enchanting accommodations!! Our room was magnificent with a soaring ceiling, two room bathroom and a comfortable king sized bed under an incredible chandelier (the Studio Suite) - it is as good as the pictures. The location is great and walkable to shopping and sights. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and our hats off to Geltrude and the entire staff who took such good care of us!!

This beautiful Palazzo is kept in an excellent condition but most important was that it has a wonderful taste of a real Palazzo. Different rooms but all in a very aesthetic arrangement. The interior and the staff gave us a joyful feeling for the entire stay. And the landlady was always available to host us with really useful recommendations.

Is parking available at Palazzo Guido?
Answer from Palazzo Guido
Lecce, Italy
Palazzo Guido is located in the heart of the historical center in Lecce.Unfortunately, it’s forbidden to park a car in the historical Centre if you are not a resident. So, after the check-in, it's mandatory to park outside of the old city. There are three different parking areas, 100 metres far aqway from our place.
